Disney Gift Card Deals

Kmart and best buy are the only other ones besides Target that I know that carry Disney and let you use gift cards to buy Disney. I do not know anywhere reputable that sells sams or Walmart (besides the resellers).

I haven't tried Kmart or BB yet simply because GS and Target were working so well, but I might give it a shot with a small card.

I know others have said they went in store and bought a gc with their redcard and got 5% discount. I don't have time to go back and quote them, but several since Saturday.

Is it confirmed that Best Buy lets you use gift cards to buy other gift cards? I know they allow reward certificates to be applied to purchases but I've never tried gift cards. Best Buy at 5.5% at Cardpool is better for me than the RedCard 5% if Target did indeed stop selling Disney cards online for good this time (I don't do all this insane churning that some of you do...I can't even wrap my head around it haha).
I can confirm that my Best Buys will allow it :) Others have reported that theirs won't. I would guess that is "the cashier won't try/has been told by management not to" rather than "the system won't allow it."

I have decided to start converting some of my Target into Disney. Going this afternoon to buy a couple $100 so we will see how it goes. I will use the self-check out ;-)

I will be picking up a few hundred in gc at Kroger Wednesday for 4x fuel points, and at this point I'm undecided what to get (maybe just straight to ebay? Or even just Disney).

Might want to double check your flyer. My promo expires tomorrow (Tues). I'm thinking I might buy Ebay if they have them. Hoping Kroger carries the loadable ones.

They do. Up to $500. That's what I'll be doing tomorrow as well.

This was not the most profitable part of the churn for me. For all else stays as is, I go from 30% off to 25% off.

I think it was for many. I'm up $2900 (about 40%) since Feb and only $500 of that is eBay bucks. After those are maxed, my savings drop to about 8-9% by going Raise->Walmart->Disney

ETA: I'll still get some savings from CB portals, but its not a ton.
ETA2: After doing the math, it looks like only $650 or so was from the Target end, but not an insignificant amount. About as good as ebucks (with a little more risk, of course)

Y'all do realize that what we were exploiting before was "the glitch" and as it stands now, it's working correctly... right? I'm as dreamy as any that it will revert to being broken so we can continue to exploit... but all indicators are pointing to Target simply fixing their system so that 3rd party GCs no longer qualify for 5% off -- in store or online. This is how it should have been all along.

Unfortunately this shuts down the simplest way of saving which I've done for years, that is simply buying Disney cards at Target to pay for your Disney trip and getting 5% off. :(

You can still churn on the EBucks side, but it is much less profitable, as the 5% from Target was the most valuable part of the churn process. Getting that 5% right away was so important! $600 for $570 every time, accumulating an immediate $30 in gift card value per $570 spent. Repeat 5 times ($3000 thru Target) and you've earned a new $150 Target card. No waiting 5 months for Ebates or Ebucks.

I'm guessing Target was losing millions of dollars on this mistake of coding Disney cards as something that qualified for 5% off. I bet their margin isn't even 5% on the cards! I alone made over $3000 off Target this year and I'm just one person. Multiply me by 1000 or 10,000 or however many people you think are doing this, and you can see that Target was losing money hand over fist.

It was a great run, but I do not share the optimism that what we're looking at in the current state is just a glitch. It is too accurate of a fix. Now in one cart, with GCs and goods, the goods are qualifying for the 5% but the GCs are not. That is pretty clear cut.

FWIW, went to Target today, and had no problem buying Disney cards in store, paying face value and paying with Gift Cards. So the issue is not buying GCs with GCs, rather, that now, gift cards of all types no longer qualify for 5% off.
You ran $60000 through target .com this year? Wow. And I was worried about running ~$24K in 12 months.

For me, the 5% off at t.com would hurt to lose, but ebay is much more valuable to me. $24K in 12 months is 1200. Nice, but still a lot less than the $2K I can make off ebay bucks. And, ebay is less likely to ban me  And, of course, I lost about 1% of my target profits in shipping costs. Lastly, it is, at most, a 3 month wait for ebay bucks. And, I can use a cashback site on ebay without having to game the system (stopped doing ebates with target a while ago because of that).

I also still don't think this is the end of the 5% off online with redcard and gift cards. Time will tell.

Ty, but my ad runs Thurs-Wed. It started a day later, and apparently ends a day later :)

Thank you for mentioning it ends tomorrow. I was thinking I had until Wed also. WIll be going today or tomorrow to get some but like others...which one to get...ebay, Disney or Target??

I had always assumed that the glitch was getting the 5% off when paying with a GC online. I thought Target had the cards coded as they did so that they would qualify for the 5%, while the Target cards and Visa/MC prepaid did not. Otherwise, why did they code them that way in the first place and why take so long to fix it?

I think the reason why we are still holding on to hope that this is a glitch is because people are still getting the RC discount in store.

Yeah, it's not known why Target coded the cards the way they did, and then left them that way so long while they were losing money. I will say that I've done this for the better part of 5 years, but in the last few months the number of other people also doing it has skyrocketed. I think what was once largely unnoticed, suddenly saw the activity grow exponentially once it hit a few threads and people created other threads and facebook groups, and so on. To the point where it was big dollars that they were losing. Maybe the quickest fix was to just block GCs from qualifying for 5% online, since they don't want to block other goods from qualifying for 5%.

Let's not forget that back in the day you could combine your Pharmacy Rewards on GCs. I remember buying 114 Disney GCs in store at one time, only to find out I'd hit my Target Card max! They eventually corrected that to not work on GCs so the precedent is there that they do watch for people exploiting buying GCs.

No, more like 1/3 of that thru target because the profit is from all sources.

Well, here's hoping! :)

Good to know. I buy enough stuff there that testing it out and being "stuck" with gift cards if it doesn't work won't kill me. Still waiting a week or so to see how this Target thing turns out. Thanks!

For the Amex offer- on Tuesday I bought a $100 Disney gift card and it arrived today. On Thursday I ordered a $100 eBay gift card and it still says processing - hasn't shipped yet.

How do you know they were losing money?

I think part of the reason it has increase is because of the ability to add the ebay aspect. Didn't GCM just start selling Target gift cards last May? I think that is when the volume started increasing.
