Disney Gift Card Deals

I have not received swagbucks credit for a $700 ebay purchase of Target GC's on 3/29. Is this something I can put a 'ticket in' for, or better to just let it go?

Are the cards activated?

Something similar happened to me months ago. GCM was taking forever to ship an order, then an envelope containing the cards showed up even though it hadn't been marked as shipped. When I tried using the cards at Target, they weren't activated. I called GCM and they told me that there was an error affecting some shipments, that I shouldn't have gotten the cards yet, and that it would take a few days to activate. When my order finally marked as shipped a day or two later, my cards became active.

I had ordered something about a month ago (from an Etsy crafter, not a store), and the post office marked that the package was delivered the same day it got mailed. And because it was marked delivered, I got no updates. I decided to wait about a week before contacting the PO, and the package showed up in about 6 days, about what I'd expect considering the distance.
I'm thinking the postal worker accidentally hit the wrong status. Not sure if this applies in your case

Mine had been about 20 minutes for $200s and 40 minutes for orders containing anything less. However, my last order took 10 hours. Ordered at 9pm and did not receive until 7am the next morning. After about 4 hours I got very nervous and starting checking the order status every hour lol.

Hmmm. I was just doing my Bing for the day and realized I could cash in for GameStop. I have been doing Hulu or fandango, but at least for the time being Bing could add to my churning fund now. I hadn't thought of this before.

Am I correct in realizing that the churning only really works (sees a decent profit) if you are one that receives the eBay bonus buck offers? Is there a way to be successful at churning without the eBay segment?

I received my March 31 GCM order this afternoon! It's not marked shipped & I didn't get tracking. I still have one from April 3rd but it's only a few days old so I'm not worried.

Well, I Decided I should 'contact seller", GCM, about my 2 $100 orders from 3/31 and a $200 order from 3/30, since nothing was showing as shipped yet. The 3/31 orders have Mon 4/11 as delivery, and Fri 4/8(today!) for the 3/30 order. I used to have such great service from them but last two rounds weren't so great! Actually just two days ago received two of four orders from the round of promo before the last one. I have t heard back from them yet, but after reading your post, I wondered if maybe that would happen here. And, lol and behold, one of my $100 orders did show up today, still not listed as even shipped yet! It arrived earlier than estimated but never shipped! Crazy! But, thanks for that heads up that something like this might happen! Now if only my other orders will show up later today!

Thank you for sharing this link, very helpful! I think it was Lain who asked another poster if cards that showed without being noted as shipped, were activated. So, this was perfect timing for me to check my card that suddenly showed up and find that yes, my card is activated!

Wondering, do others here think that buying an order of Disney cards at Target at the limit, either the 4 $50's or 3 $100's, once per day for a few days relatively safe? Or every other day? I'll need to do about $1800-$2000. I guess I may have to do some in store as it gets later in the month. Also, what about an order of Disney cards same day as order of Target cards, or is that too much? Last time I ordered Disney cards I wasn't worried about how it looked since I wasn't churning, yet, lol! Actually, last time I bought was when they had that sale of a $5 gc for I think it was $25 gc in late Nov I think. I started churning right after that last trip in dec.

[I first posted this in the Resorts board, but I think this board is probably more appropriate. Sorry for the cut'n'paste if you saw it there too]

I have a dollar balance on my (UK) PayPal account which I'd like to use to pay off some of the outstanding balance of my WDW resort reservation (cheaper than converting it into pounds then back into dollars to pay Disney).

I know I can't pay WDW directly by PayPal, but I think I can buy dollar Disney Gift Cards in advance using PayPal, correct? And then I could use those Gift Cards to pay off the reservation balance? Is there any way to get discounts when buying Disney Gift Cards with PayPal, or just use the official site?

I think being based in the UK will be a problem in terms of actually getting physical gift cards sent to me, so how much of this can be done online? When I order Disney Gift Cards online, will I get the card numbers issued to me in the confirmation so I can pay the WDW balance directly online, or do I need to be holding the physical card first?

Also, if I have received an actual Disney Gift Card (I could get it forwarded from the US) can I top up the balance value online? That would make it much easier for me to do in future from the UK (once I've got a physical card).

And what about the Disney Vacation Account system, would that give me any benefits or deals? I've never used either of these payment options, so even as a 25-year Disney veteran, this is new territory for me!

Andre

Target.com does take PayPal, but the Disney gift cards they sell are not codes delivered online, they are physical cards mailed to an address.

The only benefit derived from the Disney Vacation Account is a 2% "bonus" gift card provided after you use your account to pay off your reservation. There used to be the added ease of combining multiple smaller gift cards into one lump sum that made it easier to pay off a reservation, but now you can combine multiple gift cards onto one one the Disney site so the DVA is not as useful. And frankly, they have had some technical glitches in the past that concern me about using their services.

I've just checked, and Target will ship internationally, but they will charge in my local currency (pounds) and also add UK taxes and duties as if it were a merchandise purchase. So there's no way to purchase an entirely electronic gift gift card (i.e. nothing physical is needed) via PayPal balance?

And can a Disney Gift Card be topped up electronically once I have the initial physical card? I'm thinking about getting a small value card sent to a friend's address in the US, and then they can post it to me and I could handle it entirely online from there...? Is there a top up limit by the way?

Andre

You also need to be a resident of the US to create a DVA.

Who can create a Disney Vacation Account?
You must meet the following criteria to create and use a Disney Vacation Account:

  • Be a resident of one of the 50 states of the United States, Puerto Rico or Washington, D.C. (subject to change)
  • Be at least the age of majority, which is 18 years of age in these jurisdictions, with the following exceptions:
  • Alabama and Nebraska: 19 years of age
  • Mississippi and Puerto Rico: 21 years of age
You also need to have:

  • A valid email address
  • A Disney.com account
  • A debit/credit card
A minimum initial contribution of $10 is required to open a Disney Vacation Account.

I do not live in the United States. Can I create a Disney Vacation Account?
Disney Vacation Account is only available for residents of the 50 states of the United States, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. at this time.

One answer I do know, that is the top up limit is $1000 per gift card. Only ever combined gift cards though. Haven't topped up so don't know about that.

Disney has a website (disneygiftcard.com) that allows you to manage/combine your gift cards. You can transfer balances from one card to another (up to a maximum final value of $1000 per card).

Disney's gift card FAQ states the following: "Disney Gift Cards can be reloaded at any Disney location that sells Disney Gift Cards. Online reloads are not available at this time."

As you cannot use your card for online top-ups, I'm not sure how you could do this and use your PayPal balance.

When I've purchased a Disney Gift Card from any source (Disney, Target, etc.), I've never received the gift card number in the confirmation email (which would have thereby bypassed your need for the actual card). Disney GCs have both a gift card number and a security code, which are both only found on the card, and you'd need them both to use the card, or to combine it with another card.

If I were you, I would do the following, but it requires having someone in the US who you wholeheartedly trust with all of your PayPal balance:
  • Use your PayPal balance to purchase gift cards, and ship them to your US friend.
  • The most simple way to do this would be purchasing Disney GCs directly from Disney (or Target). You'd be paying full price.
  • There may be potential for a discount, but they would require that you were either (1) eligible for eBay Bucks offers (which I'm unsure if you have in the UK) or (2) you were able to have someone with a Target REDCard make purchases on your behalf. If you think either may be a possibility, you can ask and we'll give more detail.
  • Your US friend would receive all GCs, scratch to view the codes on the back, and then provide you with all the GC numbers/security codes.
  • You could then use those numbers to combine your GCs (limit $1000/card) using disneygiftcard.com.
  • You would use the GCs to pay your balance through Disney (I don't think there's anything that prevents non-US reservations from being paid for with GCs, but you may want to confirm that).
Someone else here may have a more simple solution for you, but that's the best I can think of at this time of morning. Good luck!

Just wanted to point out that there is only an advantage to buying your GC through Target if you have a RedCard (for the 5% discount online). Otherwise, it is just the same as any other store. I am not aware of any place that issues electronic Disney GCs .

The DisneyGiftCard .com site says that you can reload a GC in any amount $5-$1000 and "Disney Gift Cards can be reloaded at any Disney location that sells Disney Gift Cards. Online reloads are not available at this time."

Also you could get a discount by going through Sam's Club, but a membership is required there also. The discount amounts to about the same as going through Target with a Redcard.

True, but it is better than nothing if you are not willing to scam the system.
TY, I've been purchasing from Target without any cashback, and may add perk into the mix. I'm still a little leery just because I'm still pushing a pretty high volume through (to me) even with getting my ebay cards elsewhere.

Any experience with eBay seller svmgiftcards? I bought a hotels.com discounted GC, with a $15 off eBay promo on March 22, and have yet to receive it. I have contacted them with no response, so I am about to try to get a refund. I'm so disappointed, though, I could have had a $100 GC for $75.

I purchased Hyatt gift cards through them on March 30th when they had an offer to buy $200 in Hyatt, get a bonus $25 gas card and the 5x ebay bucks offer was going. They were all delivered on April 4th, so I got them very quickly.

I know that doesn't help you in getting your cards, but I just wanted to share my good experience with them.

Hopefully yours will come through too!

@ski_mom It IS helpful to know that people on here have had positive experiences. And, I was wondering if the additional discount was maybe causing a problem. I don't know how those promos are structured- does eBay cover the discount or is it split with the seller? My thinking is that if they have to cover the promo in addition to already offering the GC at a discount, maybe they WANT me to cancel the order.
