Disney Gift Card Deals

@ski_mom It IS helpful to know that people on here have had positive experiences. And, I was wondering if the additional discount was maybe causing a problem. I don't know how those promos are structured- does eBay cover the discount or is it split with the seller? My thinking is that if they have to cover the promo in addition to already offering the GC at a discount, maybe they WANT me to cancel the order.

That's an interesting thought. I guess I figured that Ebay covered the promo, but it's hard to know for sure. One time, I bought a purse I'd been looking at with one of the promo codes. It was just from an individual reseller, so I'd think they wouldn't have had any kind of loss due to me using the code to purchase their item, but who knows.

Are the cards activated?

Something similar happened to me months ago. GCM was taking forever to ship an order, then an envelope containing the cards showed up even though it hadn't been marked as shipped. When I tried using the cards at Target, they weren't activated. I called GCM and they told me that there was an error affecting some shipments, that I shouldn't have gotten the cards yet, and that it would take a few days to activate. When my order finally marked as shipped a day or two later, my cards became active.

I was finally able to check this morning and my card is activated.

Any experience with eBay seller svmgiftcards? I bought a hotels.com discounted GC, with a $15 off eBay promo on March 22, and have yet to receive it. I have contacted them with no response, so I am about to try to get a refund. I'm so disappointed, though, I could have had a $100 GC for $75.
I have purchased from them a lot. I believe more than a dozen orders in total, and I have never had a problem and always gotten my orders quickly. They shp from IL for my orders, but that shouldn't have kept you from getting a March 22 order. They ship in a plain envelope that didn't look at all like what I expected, so perhaps you received it and didn't realize?

Got a new red card in the mail and I've avoided activating it, but my old one is officially shut off & I reeeeeeally hope my new one still allows me 5% off on GC's!

No, I don't think this is the case as the status shows "Not shipped." And, as I said, I've had no response messaging through eBay. I went to the company website and contacted customer support. They responded and said someone from the eBay team would be in touch, but that was almost a week ago.

I activated my new one last week and had no issues getting the 5% off my order of eBay cards paid for with Target gcs.

I got mine last month and was wondering if I'd have trouble as some reported-however I have used it a couple times already with no problems. I have it set as my default payment mechanism but go in and add the gift cards during the checkout process-the 5% still comes off for me.

FWIW, I just got a RedCard (but a debit card) last week and it does give me the 5% off giftcards. I would think a new credit card would do the same, but you never know!

I have our new red card (credit) and had no problem getting the 5% on gift cards.

This is comical today but not so much last night. I received 3 Target gcs from GCM yesterday & when I started to use them on Target.com, I could hardly get the gray stuff to scratch off for the #s. It wasn't exactly like it was sticky, more like the actual plastic was coming off & that made me worry the numbers would come off & I wouldn't be able to see & use them. As it was, I just had to make a good guess as to what I was seeing with the gray smudged over it & without making the plastic come all the way off with it. Very frustrating & worrisome, but it turned out I was able to guess/see them correctly & they worked. Whew! Anyone else have this happen? Could the cards have gotten too hot in transit or are they possibly defective?

For churning, all I'm doing is buying target gift cards through various sites, then buying the disney cards using my red card discount.

My question is, what should I avoid doing to avoid being cut off? I only buy 100-200 at a time and several days apart usually.

So I've read many people with positive SVM experiences and that they ship quickly but I've seen the opposite with their hotels.com giftcards. My first run with them took quite a while (maybe 3 weeks?). I contacted them and they got back to me right away offering a refund saying the cards were backordered but that it was on it's way. The card came the next day so I kept it. Then I ordered some more and I'm pretty sure the one with $15 of $100 was just shipped to me Monday (I am in MA). I contacted them again and got no response this time but I closed the case when I got the card. So my experience thus far has been for some reason those cards are really slow but it will eventually arrive. Good luck!

Nobody can say for sure what will or will not get you blocked, but you should be fine in that range. Some people advise against buying Target GCs thru "various sites" yet the sites constantly sell out, so obviously people are doing it just fine. Also we've only heard of very few cases where someone actually got blocked. So that is definitely not the norm.

Minniekins, I really don't know the answer to your question, but I have ordered 3 $10
showed without being noted as shipped, were activated. So, this was perfect timing for me to check my card that suddenly showed up and find that yes, my card is activated!

Wondering, do others here think that buying an order of Disney cards at Target at the limit, either the 4 $50's or 3 $100's, once per day for a few days relatively safe? Or every other day? I'll need to do about $1800-$2000. I guess I may have to do some in store as it gets later in the month. Also, what about an order of Disney cards same day as order of Target cards, or is that too much? Last time I ordered Disney cards I wasn't worried about how it looked since I wasn't churning, yet, lol! Actually, last time I bought was when they had that sale of a $5 gc for I think it was $25 gc in late Nov I think. I started churning right after that last trip in dec.

I can't answer your entire question, but I have ordered 3 $100s and 1 or 2 $50s at one time with no problem. I was making about one purchase a week and most times only Disney GCs. Maybe if you go for the maximum cards per purchase, you can spread them out more?

Every time I check raise for Target GCs, it seems that they are 0% to 0.5% off. Is this becoming the norm now?

Disney has a website (disneygiftcard.com) that allows you to manage/combine your gift cards. You can transfer balances from one card to another (up to a maximum final value of $1000 per card).

If I were you, I would do the following, but it requires having someone in the US who you wholeheartedly trust with all of your PayPal balance:!

The DisneyGiftCard .com site says that you can reload a GC in any amount $5-$1000 and "Disney Gift Cards can be reloaded at any Disney location that sells Disney Gift Cards. Online reloads are not available at this time."

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Yes, I think I'm going to have to buy from Disney directly without any discounts (that's fine, I can live with that - I mainly wanted to avoid converting a dollar PayPal balance back into sterling and then back again). I do have a US-based friend that I could probably have the cards sent to and get them to email me the reference numbers. I trust them not to spend the cash in the meantime. :) It does sound like the only easy way to get Disney Gift Cards on PayPal is either in person at a Disney Store or with a US address.

I used to buy them somewhere between 6-8%. I have not seen any higher than 4% recently, though I have not been looking as much! I think that's the norm, at least for now.. maybe with graduations and such (grad gifts?!) we'll see higher %s!?

I'm hoping so! I need at least $4,000 more in gift cards.
