Disney Gift Card Deals

I was actually told on this board to "put in a ticket" a few times and no one gave this or any other advice NOT to. I personally followed the advice given here, not knowing that ebates doesn't credit for purchases paid with gc's ( and they were crediting every other purchase I made with just gift cards) I'm sure I'm not the only one . If someone had explained why it wasn't a good idea to put in a ticket I certainly wouldn't have. I followed advice given here. No one corrected. Oh well.

This is why is it hard to have a "how to". People do things differently, and things change frequently. There are people on here that put in tickets and don't see a problem with it, or haven't had any problems. That is why you got that advice. It is important to read the FAQ and terms of service for the portals you use. Most say you can't get cash back if you pay with giftcards, but most portals still give it to you. You will see ebates advertise 10% cash back but if you look into it there is a very small amount of things that get that high amount. eBay for instance they advertise 5% but on giftcards it is only 1%. I got super excited about 10% Expedia but for hotels it is like 1.5% or something like that. At Target apple products, grocery items, toiletries and baby items (diapers and wipes) are ineligible for cash back. This board is helpful, but there is some outside research that should be put in as well.

ETA: it will also help you know how long it should take to get credit. Most ask that you wait 30 days for them to credit, then if they haven't and you should be getting cash back submit a ticket. Swagbucks for instance usually will shut you right down and respond with please wait x amount of time and then resubmit a ticket.

Good game flip if you are pro at Gamestop.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is on sale at Fry's for $4.95:

You might be able to price match it at Best Buy. YMMV. Sometimes you'll get the employees that'll play detective and try to deny you anyway they can.

Same game trades in at gamestop for $11 if you are pro:
http://www.gamestop.com/trade/quote/xbox-one/games/resident-evil-revelations-2/118071

...and (EDIT: starting 4/15) they are throwing in an extra $10 for every two games you trade in. You can't trade in 2 of the same system, but it's highly YMMV. I have a gamestop that'll take in two of the same title in my area.

OOP: $9.90 + tax = $32 in Gamestop credit

Good luck :thumbsup2

Is PRO the same as Power Up Rewards member?

Can someone explain to me why GCs on Ebay sold buy individuals are list for more than the card is worth? I don't get it when you can just go to the online store and order at face value.
Thank you for asking this question! I have been struggling to figure this out! That and who on earth would PAY for an EMPTY gift card???

Ok, next question of the hour....

I created an eBay account for my daughter in hopes of getting the bonus bucks offers on her account, since I don't get them on mine. When the offer pops up, how do you find out about it? Do you receive a message? Are you just on eBay a lot and see something?

95% of the time, someone posts here, but every once in a while I get an e-mail from them first.

I have made it a habit of checking eBay's site at 8 AM on Tuesdays. Usually about the time I get to work so I'll check and it is usually on the homepage among the banners that scroll by!

The first thing I do when my alarm goes off at 5:30am is reach for my phone and see if anyone's posted about an offer. On days when there might be an offer I usually wake up 10 minutes before the alarm. If no ones posted anything, I still check my and DS eBay account for the banner.

@lorijohnhill - I created a new account to see if I got the #x offers as well, and it worked for the 5x offer. I got an e mail about it and it was also on a banner when I logged on to ebay with that account. I clocked on the "Activate Now" button in the e mail and it told me the offer wasn't valid for me since I was still logged into my original account. I logged out and into the new account, and the banner was there. The e mail came right at 8 am eastern.

Sorry I didn't mean to single anyone specific out(I can't even remember who posts what) just trying let peeps here know how risky doing that can be..... I've had to do it on occasion, but very very seldom, and only if 1000% necessary.

I know I have told people to 'put in a ticket' a time or two. I assume the poster has read the exclusions and TOS for the sites they are using and knows they are in the 'right' and should legitimately receive the cashback.

Agree with pp, I don't remember from page to page who post what. I am not singling you out at all. This whole deal is a huge learning process and it just helps all those who are new to these methods if we discuss what not to do as much as we discuss what to do.

Just got notice my Swagbucks posted for my eBay purchase Tuesday. Only 1% and it won't credit for 72 days, but better than nothing!

I've never gotten an eBay bonus offer in the time I started Churning for Disney GC (somewhere around 8 months).

Someone mentioned a number of pages back that you have earn a minimum amount of Bucks before you are eligible for the deals. Since I was planning on making some purchases anyway I decided to just go in and buy whatever I could off eBay. I ended up earning around $4.60 in Ebay Bucks.

Anyway, this most recent deal I did get. :sunny:

So... if you don't get the offers (and you don't purchase much off eBay), try making a handful of purchases and seeing if that helps. I got things that I knew I would use, and did my normal price comparisons, so it doesn't hurt.

I sure wish I could do this! There are many wonderful benefits to living in a smaller town, but no Target is hard! The nearest store is 100 miles away, so I just keep hoping I don't set off some arbitrary warning bells when I start ordering my gift cards. I do try to break it up.

And the advice to hit all the Game Stops stores you can find? We have one. :charac2:

Thank goodness for the dot coms :surfweb: and all the advice on here that has saved me $$$ so we can go to Disney! :disrocks:

I wish I had a Target close, mine is several countries away but I still look at the weekly flyer almost every Sunday online.

I had earned eBay bucks in the past. I got a $7 and change certificate for spending over Christmas, but alas, no bonus offers. I will try it on my daughter's account and see if it works there. Otherwise, I will just churn slowly. :)

Has anyone tried purchasing GameStop gift cards on Amazon with Amazon gift cards in the past couple weeks?

I tried yesterday - no dice :( I only tried for the digital gift cards, although I saw physical cards as well.

I figured someone had to try and there's plenty I can buy on Amazon if it didn't work!

I purchased the "Buy a $50 Amazon gift card get a $10 bonus" deal a couple of weeks ago and was able to purchase a Panera gift card (we eat there often) with the gift cards. Not sure about the rest but that was the first time I was able to do that.

How far along in the process did you get before you were told you couldn't do this? I just now tried it with a $25 Game Stop digital card and it let me get all the way to the point where I would click to place the order using my Amazon gift card balance in my account. I didn't finish up the order so I wasn't sure if click the final button cancels the order.
