OK, I'm still totally confused lol. The website says 10 points per $ for free members and 20 points per $ for Pro members, so it seems like you should have gotten 16k points. Also, I don't know if the numbers on the website include the double rewards promo or if there is even a double rewards promo since I can't find anything about it on the website. I think I'm going to sign up for the free one today, see if and how many points I get from it and then upgrade to Pro if the numbers are worth it. How often do you have to pay the $15 for the pro? Is it a one-time thing or yearly? I, for one, would love to have help getting started with the game flipping. Even if my GS doesn't do GCs for rewards credit, I could still use it for Christmas/birthday money for the kids
I'm not too sure about the points as I was buying things and trading games when I was flipping the gift cards yesterday. The $15 fee is annually, but helps with game flipping as you get 10% off the B2G1 and 4 for 20 promos with used games. It pays off in the long run.
When you upgrade to pro, they give you a B2G1 used coupon in which you can use to your advantage to get a good flip when they do a trade in promotion (30% more etc).
So, with something like this, you buy the 3 used games (one of them free) and then turn around and exchange them for store credit? Then you can use the store credit for gift cards?
Exactly. It depends on the trade in values tomorrow and if some of them hold.
Here are some of the basics/tips to game flipping.
- You can only trade in one of the same title at a time, however your milage may vary with trading in multiples of the same game. I've traded in multiple copies of the same game at some gamestops, however I've been denied at others. You can however trade in 2 of the same game on different consoles such as the same game... ex. one on PS4, and one on Xbox One.
- You can only trade in three of the same title and system period. Once you trade in the 4th of the same game, your account gets flagged for review in which the district manager sometimes views and there have been people that have been banned.
- You should jump on flips ASAP. Most of the times when trade in values are
really high, it's because Gamestop has been slow at updating their systems. It is very likely that the trade in credit will change. Most of the time they change it overnight.
- Utilize the website for inventory. With some sales like B2G1 and others, some gamestops won't have a specific game. The website is good for locating specific used games they sell. With some sales/promos, you'll have to find 3 or 4 at the same gamestop so that can get tricky.
- You can return used games. If a flip does not work out, or you couldn't find a game, you can return the used games for your money back (only at gamestop). A lot of people take advantage of this and buy a used game, play it for a week (the return period) and then return it for the price they paid.
- You might get hit with a refurbished fee. Sometimes when you trade in game, with some of the employees, they'll charge you a "refurbished fee" which is what they charge you when the disc is too scratched or damaged in any way. Yes, they'll sometimes charge you for it with a game you just bought at a different location. Check the game to make sure there isn't any huge scratches. I usually walk back in and ask them for another copy if I see one.
- Don't trade it back in at the same Gamestop. I haven't tried it as there are a million gamestops where I live (3 on my way from work to home), but I've heard stories of people trying it and getting denied.
Game flipping can be great profit when they have good sales and trade in promos, but can be tedious depending on inventory of used games at certain locations and how many locations are near you.
