Disney Gift Card Deals

So, I came across this jewel tonight after having my purchase spread across 7 different gift cards and no coordinating GC numbers with amounts...

https://gift cards.ebay.com/balance

Hope this is useful to others!

For some reason the link doesn't work. But you can also get to it if you click "Gift Cards" at the top of the page. You'll see a blue banner part way down the page that says, "CHECK YOUR EBAY GIFT CARD BALANCE." I used this a lot when we used to have to wait hours for the gift cards to be activated.

Anyone ever received an error on eBay saying "You’ve reached a temporary buying restriction. Please contact us if you need more information"?

I only made 2 eBay purchases today one for $750 in GameStop GC's and then a second for $250 in gameStop GC's (didn't want to push the paypal_digital_gifts $1000/30day limit). So, I was just trying to complete today's churn with 2 separate orders, one for $500 in Target GC's through GCM and the other for $550 in Target GC's from GCM... On the phone now.
From what I remember reading that it's not $1000 for everyone. It could be $50 above it or below it.

Did you get the message while buying GS GCs or Target GCs from GCM. Your post makes it seem like the latter, but there shouldn't be a limit on Target cards from GCM...

Quoting myself here to let everyone know what I learned...

The person I spoke with was told that I hit a limit once I had purchased $1000 in GCs within 24hrs. So, they put a 24hr hold on my account that only prohibits me from purchasing more GC's in the next 24hrs, I could make other purchases if I wanted to. Apparently it's not a limit per transaction thing or a limit based on the seller or the brand of the gift card (the purchases I made earlier were from PPDG for GameStop GCs and the purchases I was attempting to make were from GCM for Target GCs), it's a limit based on the dollar amount of gift cards purchased within a 24hr period. Well I missed out on the last bit of my churn ($105 eBay Bucks) but I learned something new and the guy at eBay was really helpful and understanding (I didn't explain the process but told him I could save on Disney gift cards at Target so I buy the Target GCs on eBay blah, blah, blah...). He was quite sympathetic and tried to override the hold on my account first and then tried to see if he could some how add the eBay Bucks I was losing out on later, but no such luck. He was told that since there are a lot of laws and rules surrounding GCs and there is the potential for fraud with GCs and because eBay polices their GCs sales themselves that they put certain systems, like the 24hr hold, in place to make sure no one is doing anything illegal or against policy.

I fixed the link. :thumbsup2 I wish I had found that banner before! I was looking in all the wrong places, I guess!

No limit on Target GCs from GCM per se but apparently buying more $1000 of any GCs from any seller within 24hrs can/will (not sure) flag an account for a 24hr hold on GC purchases.

i have 10% eBay bucks bonus right now and bought $200 gamestop and then turned that to eBay cards in store then purchased $200 target cards on eBay today . I also purchased $600 to target from gcm and then another $600 from gcm just to use on grocery's this month. I will let you know if i hit a hold, but so far everything looks like it went through. I just signed up for eBay bucks so i was trying to hit a good bonus before the quarter ends, I racked up $175 at least in the last 2 weeks. So that would be $1600 today technically in gc purchased from eBay.

I had never heard of anyone having a hold put on their account after only $1000 in 24hrs and I was fairly sure other people on here had churned more than $1000 through eBay in a day, but for some reason my account was flagged and put on hold... The guy said it definitely didn't look like I had done anything wrong and he said my account was not "flagged" forever but for some reason today's purchases triggered the 24hr GC purchase hold. Weird...

Okay, so I did 3 flips of $300 gamestop gc's at my local gamestop. They had said no limit, but turns out the limit is $1000 per day. I did total $900, and would have done more between my and my DD25's paypal acct, but I didn't go quick enough before I heard about the $1000/day limit, so ran out of time to run to another gamestop about 20-25 min away. Plus, I was having trouble buying/paying with paypal thru the phone so came home and finished and went back. Anyway, he said it's $1000 per day and I could come back tomorrow and do another $900 or $1000, but of course there's no extra ebucks tomorrow, lol! So, my last round I bought $300 in target cards. Speaking of ebucks, tomorrow, wouldn't it be great if they ran another small one promo to helps folks out with their ebucks! Lol, jk, but am wondering what the usual ebay bucks would be when there is no promo - so say you put thru $500, or $1000, what would you get back? Not enough cards have arrived anyway, but just wondering.

Am thankful to those who shared the gamestop info as I got a good amount of churning in, so thank you! I decided we'd need more anyway, so first output was cc, but I knew I'd be adding more anyway at some point. Spending $300 I made an additional $120 so far, and will add another $15 here shortly with my gc that came in today. I will add this method in future to help take off some of the target churning, and I'll still be able to get the full amount of ebucks!

Sorry you missed out on the ebucks, that stinks! Very surprising though. I bought two orders last 3/23 of $900 each, and another for $150, and no problems at all. (Well, other than very slow shipping). The next day, probably within 24 hours, I bought another $500. Very strange. I know another poster who bought the same amount of gc's that I did, too, and I'm sure there are others who bought over $1000 gc's in a day. I bought mine that way to buy increments of $150 and keep each order under $1000, with the ebucks limit of $100 in one transaction, so just split them evenly, then had the other $150 gc left because after so many gc's in one order i think paypal limited the number used in one transaction. I wonder if yours had anything to do with the $100 ebucks in one order?

I went to Kmart today with my $100 sears physical gift card that I had gotten yesterday from trading in my $100 sears paypal digital gift card (that I had paid $85 for 2 weeks ago). I found a whole bunch of $50 gamestop gift cards, so I got 2 of those instead of 4 $25 ebay cards. I was kind of sad, though, because I was going to end up not getting about $30 of my ebay bucks.

Then, I had a brilliant idea on my way to Gamestop. I have a DiscoverIt card and hadn't spent $500 of my 5% cash back for transportation. So, I stopped by Speedway (on the way to the mall anyway). I spent $500 buying 20 $25 gamestop gift cards (the only denomination they had). I have 40x speedy points on merchandise, so I got 20K speedy points, plus it gave me 3K bonus points for buying gaming gift cards. 23K speedy rewards is pretty close to $20. I will get $25 from Discover next month and $25 more from Discover in October because I am in my first year and they double cash back. Then, I took my $600 total in gamestop cards and got 2 $300 ebay cards (I wait for another customer to go, and made sure the guy was ok with me using 22 gift cards), to get my ebay bucks total to 499.90 for the quarter. I also spent $1.95 on shipping on a GCM order yesterday from my paypal balance (it wouldn't take a 15th card, I tried :teeth:).

I also got a $60 AMC card, $120 in Darden cards, a $25 steak and shake card and a $30 Petco card, plus the $295.30 I was short of my ebay bucks total before yesterday, and $56.50 in other cashback (iConsumer 3% to $20 and then splender 2%, plus splender $5 signup bonus). And, I have $562 more in target or sears gift cards than I started with, for my $502 additional investment. By my calculations, I made more than $700 in profit the last 2 days (although I did choose to get $235 of it to use, and not in churnable cards).

I had split it into 2 orders so it would only be $50 in eBay Bucks in one and $55 in the other...

I posted something I found saying that some other people had hit a limit here and there too with no real explaination so it looks like sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...

I've ordered over $1000 in a 24 hour period several times, but never from paypal digital gifts. I would bet that has something to do with your limitation.

That is weird. I run $2100 through each ebucks promo, usually all on the first day, and this has not caused my account to have a hold. Ebay tells you anything to get you off the phone...

I only did $1000 with PPDG... I was attempting to do $500 and $550 with GCM for Target GCs to maximize the 5x eBay Bucks and get closer the the $500/qtr limit

At least he was nice about it! lol He really made it seem like he was trying to do everything he could to help me.

I know others have posted about this but appears ebates has changed how they are doing the ebay cash back. I only received $1.28 for $1500 in purchases. They only gave me credit for the small amount I paid OOP.

I am going back to TCB unless anyone else has a better suggestion. I used TCB before and never had trouble. But they dropped their payout percentage so that it was the same as ebates so I just went back to ebates for ease.

I cannot tell you how many hours I have spent on the phone with ebay and PP trying to fix a problem. They all seem so nice and sincere but I have heard every excuse under the sun and none of them have fixed the problem. I am completely hopeless it will ever be resolved. I truly hope, for your sake, that your account is not flagged forever.

Looks like, from what I have read elsewhere, other people who have triggered the 24hr GC hold haven't had any problems with purchases after the 24hrs is up... fingers crossed
