Disney Gift Card Deals

I don't know about you guys, but I think it's completely unacceptable that I cannot use multiple gift cards to buy park tickets. I have never heard of a company that won't take multiple gift cards so it was totally unexpected when they told me on the phone that basically I was screwed. I bought $400 in $50 gift cards at Target. Disney has my money and now I can't get the park tickets I want. This is not okay.

This is not true...unless things have changed in the past couple of weeks

As we bought WDW tickets direct from Disney over the phone and used over 30 Disney gift cards to pay IN FULL for our park tickets.
Ie we used GC only..no other form of payment to buy our tickets

You can't do this online
You must call and do it over the phone.

Our cast member was fantastic! Did not hesitate one bit..and even said we are not the only ones using multiple gift cards. He is use to having to enter in allot per call.
Only had to read off the main number not the scratch off security code section.
Yes, it took a bit of time to do. But again the cast member was more than helpful. Even spent a great deal of time giving us suggestions and his personal tips.
Even stayed on with us ( did not need him to assist) to link our tickets to my Disney experience. He wanted to ensure that there was no issues linking them.

We did call up the main ticket line...and that cast member said they could only take 2 forms of payment. Meaning only one gift card
However, we explained we had multiple GC and wanted to pay with that. And we called ahead and spoke to a supervisor - who confirmed we could use a unlimited amount of gift cards. She immediately transferred our call to another department...who could take multiple GC

There is a separate department that can handle multiple gift cards. All others can only take 2 forms of payment. As that's how their system is set up.

We have a direct number and extension for the department that was able to take all our GC.
Will have to hunt thru our notes and find it...should anyone want it.

But just wanted to post that we have in fact paid in full for WDW,using solely Disney GC as payment

From my experience, it is their usual deal.

If you buy 3 at Target with your Red Card it is 142.50. a bit better deal that Sam's.

This is their usual deal but I had a hard time getting them most of last year. they had them near Christmas and then again nothing until now. Not sure if when they run out they will be out again until Christmas.

Thanks for the info!! If only Sams took the disney visa... then I would be very happy. I would for sure buy them there. Target though, i don't have to renew my sams membership for or drag a friend with me... so likely it will be Target for me with my target debit!:thumbsup2

If you can put your hands on it, I would love that phone number. Thank you!!

Our Sam's Club doesn't take VISA cards, but I found a way around that.....I buy Walmart gift cards at Walmart with my Disney VISA....thus I get my points....then I use my Walmart gift card to make purchases at Sam's Club.

Therefore, I am able to earn Disney rewards for my purchases at Sam's Club even though they only accept MasterCard.

Yes, it's an extra step, but the gift cards take only an extra minute at the register when I'm buying my groceries, so no big deal. I can use the Walmart cards at Sam's self-check out or the regular check out.

Wondering about current experiences anyone has had in purchasing WDW gift cards at CVS and Walgreens, using a CVS/Walgreens gift card for the purchase.

I have $50 Gift cards from both places, and I would love to be able to purchase WDW gift cards with them.

I would be shopping in Toledo or Defiance, OH, or in Adrian, Mi.
So any help from folks in those areas would be most useful.

The back of my Walgreens GC states it can not be used for Gift/Phone/Pre-Paid Cards. I'm pretty sure my local store's computer would refuse it.

Does anyone know if Bj's is classified as a grocery store at Chase? I have the premier Disney card. If it is 2%, then that would be the same as buying the gift cards at Target and Bj's carries 100 and 150. Which would mean less to keep up with.
Thanks.:)

According to the year-end summaries for my Chase Disney & Chase Freedom cards, BJ's is not classified as a grocery store. It's classified as "Discount/Wholesale Club".

I believe it started Friday. Target no longer allows pharmacy rewards discounts or team member discounts to be used on gift cards. The Red Card 5% discount still applies. Many people have confirmed this on the boards.

Just tried to use my pharmacy rewards today at Target and it did not take the 5% off the gift cards. There was nothing noting that on my coupon, but I received it a couple weeks ago.

Wow that's a bummer. I have a pharmacy rewards thing on my table I was going to go get a couple hundred $$$ in gcs from Target.

Anyone know how long the Disney gift cards are valid for after purchase?

Thanks!

According to Disney's website, they do not expire.

I just finished paying off our vacation with Disney GCs from Target. I bought the cards I needed in several batches (only because my redcard limit is kind of low-so paid it off in between purchases), then put all the cards into a Disney Vacation Account, then, when I called to pay today, they treated the vacation account like a single gift card transaction. Couldn't have been easier to save 5% on our Disney Trip! Yay!

So you can open up a DVA and then immediately call and make a purchase? You don't have to let it sit in there for a while? Is it easy to close your account right after that? I admit that I'm nervous about the DVA. Can you just purchase tickets or does it have to be a package?

If you want the bonus then the funds all have to have been in the account for at least 120 days.

What is the bonus on the DVA?

You get a $20 Disney Gift Card for every $1000. It looks like I was wrong about the money having to be there for 120 days. The account has to have been open for 120 days before you use the money in order to be eligible. That's better than the money having to be there that long.

https://disneyvacationaccount.disney.go.com/questions/#bonus

You'll be eligible for a $20 Disney Gift Card for every $1000 you spend on qualified vacation purchases with your Disney Vacation Account prior to December 31, 2015 (date subject to extension), up to a total maximum of $500 in Disney Gift Card(s) per household. Your Disney Vacation Account must be active for a minimum of 120 days at the time of spending in order to receive this Bonus

I sold my last Target pharmacy reward coupon on Ebay for $102.50 just this week. Person paid quickly and I got way more $$ to put toward my trip than the 5% coupon would have given me. I am still scratching my head as to why someone would pay that much for a 5% coupon that they can get themselves by either opening a Red card account or switching their prescriptions to Target but....whatever. :cool1:

Me too! But my buyer hasn't paid. I finally had to open a non-payment case.
