Disney Gift Card Deals

So if my gift card say "activate for any amount from 15.00 to 500.00" I can use one of those cards and load it up to a 1000 or just 500.00? I guess that is my question.
The original designated denomination of the gift card you're transferring the balance to is irrelevant. You can transfer balances from a Disney GC to another Disney GC, to a maximum new balance of $1000. For example: I've transferred $975 to a $25 GC.

I've always thought it was risky buying GCs off Ebay because you may be ripped off :scratchin. But if there's something I don't know, I'm willing to learn.

I'll keep reading, but I may need to go back further than the 20 pages suggested. If I don't lose my mind first! ;) :badpc:

Don't be fooled into thinking any of this is risk-free! It is all risky and we are taking chances on deals all the time to stay abreast of what is current and working that day. There is risk that your cards will be invalid. There is a risk that you'll spend stolen cards. There is risk that Target or Ebay will go out of stock on things and you'll be stuck with lots of money tied up in cards. There is risk of hitting this or that limit. There is risk that the glitches that are used will be fixed. There is risk that cards you buy from Target will arrive unactivated. There is risk Target will ban you. There are risks left and right, and it's nerve-racking when things don't go to plan. If you want to play, it's fun and a thrill if you're into that. It is essentially gambling. But you should be willing to take some risk yourself, read things out here, try things that work in your area, and report back. Enjoy in the fun of trying it, don't expect someone to lay out steps for you to follow. Start small, risk what you can afford to lose and buy in somehwere. Then grow your process as you get confident that your money is secure.

I can see the risks involved, that's what I was saying. I don't expect anyone to lay it out for me- that's why I stayed up late reading last night after someone asked me to. I didn't intend on derailing the thread by asking for info.

No worries, it's not derailing -- that gets asked a lot! People should definitely know there are risks involved. It is also stressful when things don't go exactly to plan!

Got my first batch of target gift cards churned through eBay. Now, to decide how many I want to use to buy more eBay cards or just cash out for Disney gift cards. Decisions, decisions. It was fun to finally figure out how this all works, and I am not going back again until November so I am thinking I will cash out half and keep half.

Thank you for the explanation! I guess I'm off to make some transfers! Wish me luck!

I did that and had two gift cards with a large sum on them. I brought them with me to pay for food, etc in the parks. Not sure if I want to do that again, I think I will stick to smaller sums combined. But if you are combining them and then using them to pay ahead of time, I think it's great!

We're using them to pay for our tickets and dining plan. Fewer cards will be easier to use.

What is the maximum number of gift cards you can use at one time on eBay? Thanks!

Ebay terms & conditions say 8. However I never get 8 to work, and after 5 or 6 it bombs out and deletes several from the order. One time I got 7 to work on one order.

If you're not going till November, why not just hold them all? You have tons of time.

I guess the only reason is I am not sure how much I want to have "tied up" in it. Plus since I am new at it the churning thing, I wasn't sure how often I woukd get a 5X offer. But, I will probably wait a bit to decide. I am a DVC member, so I hope to be going to WDW for many years and the savings with the gift cards is definitely helping that!

Thanks Minniekins! We just got back from DL using Disney gift cards purchased with a total of 15% off from Target GC sale and redcard discounts. Thought it was pretty sweet so now am learning the more complicated ways to save. Next trip Oct 2017!

I agree about not having too much tied up, plus if Target ever closes the loophole that allows you to buy a gift card with a gift card, I don't want to be stuck with a huge amount of either Target or EBay.

I might not want my life savings tied up in eBay or Target, but I'm pretty sure if the loop were broken that I'd be able to find plenty of things to spend my gift cards on, so I'm comfortable with keeping a respectable stash of GCs. But like with investing (and going to the casino), only invest as much as you're comfortable with.

I agree, I just haven't determined that amount yet. I don't want to go overboard. I did that a bit with wdw tickets. Each year that there was a price increase announced I decided to buy a few more, but this kept going on until I realized it wasn't good to have too many saved. Now, with the prospect of tiered pricing - those tickets may not have been such a good idea. I am not concerned with not being able to use them at all, but they may not be as easy depending on how older tickets can be used in the future. I know it's not the same thing, I just don't want to stock pile too many eBay cards if you know what I mean?

Did anyone ever figure out how to get their account removed as a reseller/wholesaler/whatever was freezing people's accounts? I'm pretty sure mine has been flagged - the last couple orders I tried were canceled without explanation (I haven't bothered trying to contact target after stay I read a couple of people posted about trying to get an answer or of target).

If no one's been able to get their account unfrozen, has anyone figured out what needs to be different on a new account (email, billing or shipping address, ??)? Or have people not been able to get around the fact that their red card billing address is flagged?

Thanks

You're needing the exact same tickets I will need. 2 adult tickets, PH for 7 days. I'll also need 3 children's tickets too. It's worth looking at. I'm not familiar with Parksavers. This past trip was the first time we used a non-Disney broker and my mother nearly had a heart attack (and drove me INSANE) worrying over whether it was a scam or not. :sad2:

So as to not bombard you all with questions, I read and read and read last night ;), and I'm SO overwhelmed now! I definitely want in on better savings, so I'm going to have to hang out a lot more on this thread. I keep getting confused between Ebates questions and Ebay questions. I'm an Ebates member, but I thought you couldn't use it to buy giftcards. Some say you can, some say you can't. And then I still can't quite figure out how Ebay plays into all of it. I've always thought it was risky buying GCs off Ebay because you may be ripped off :scratchin. But if there's something I don't know, I'm willing to learn.

You have to be able to ask questions here, otherwise, no point to this thread, might as well be a sticky with no responses then. You did great doing lots of reading already, and it's very overwhelming with lots of info to digest and get a clear head on!
First, just so you and your mom know, UT and Parksavers, are both legit and legal ticket brokers, used successfully by many dissers(and others, as well, of course, lol!).
So, ebates .com is a shopping portal. They provide links to various online shopping sites. Click on the link to shop at Target, for example and it will open up a Target page, and you'll get a small percentage cash back shopping thru that link! Now, technically, gc's don't count. But, put a small item in your cart and it should work. Not all items count, though. Things like say, school supplies do count, like small rulers, glue sticks, post it notes, and even place mats. Also, also to do another order, open a new link from ebates, I've found that works best. With ebay, if you get a promo, such as 3x, 4x, 5x ebay bucks, I agree to get your gc's from Gift Card Mall on Ebay, as others mentioned. Also, I use another shopping portal there, topcashback. Or, you can use ebates again. I did ebates on my one order this time, and my second order I saw that topcashback percent back got me a few more dollars so went with them. But either works well. I got a good amount of ebay bucks plus another $20 in cashback!

We're using them to pay for our tickets and dining plan. Fewer cards will be easier to use.
I used one card for food and one for souvenirs. We were renting DVC pts so couldnt use gc's for that. I liked it better than having lots of cards to keep track of what was still available on each card, which we had done the year before. That was confusing with two of us using them.
