Disney Gift Card Deals

At Christmas I received my redcard 5% when I purchased Disney gift cards with Target giftcards and my redcard set as default. Today I purchased an e-bay card with target gift card and the 5% did not apply. Any thoughts?

I read on Slickdeals that if you added the coupon before they took it down then you could use it on multiple cards, but only one transaction. I did add it yesterday. I just purchased 2 cards in one transaction and it worked on both.

Really? Thats so not fair!!!! I didn't find out until today. I guess I'll try again tomorrow at a different HEB.

Oh, lame! :( I wasn't able to go yesterday and didn't think to add it to my account.

For anyone in the Houston area, the huge HEB on San Felipe is out of the $100 cards. I bought a brioche cranberry white chocolate loaf to console myself...

How reliable is Raise when it comes to selling gift cards? Has anyone sold an unwanted gift card on this site? Really hoping to turn in a prize I won for some money towards my next Disney trip. Nervous I'll get ripped off, though.

My aunt, who was going to buy me the Disney cards at HEB, did add the coupon yesterday BUT, it has changed in her account and now says it is limited to one-time use. Too bad :-(

I also know that if you are part of a rewards program through hotels you can get gift cards with points. I work for Club Carlson they own the Radisson hotels and some other ones. I use my points for $50 Disney gift cards. 34,000 points = $50.

The 5% off only officially applies to purchases made directly with the Target Red Card. Since you bought with a gift card, the 5% didn't apply. Most people, however, have found a way to get the 5% off by going online, adding items to their cart with the Red card as their default payment, then just before completing the transaction, adding gift cards as payment. For some, they can pay the entire balance. For others, they can pay most, but not all of their balance. For others still, they can't seem to get this to work.

It takes some tinkering and determination to figure out for sure which category you fit in, so good luck!

So true, the other day I wanted to buy a $100 and a$200 ebay GCs from Target GCs that I had just purchased on Raise. I could not get the 5% for the $100 GC ($300 processed in 2 separate transactions) no matter what I did. I finally just gave up so I could get the eBay GC and try to make the 5x bucks window. Processed the $200 GC immediately after the $100, did nothing different and got the 5% on the initial try. So quirky!

Was thinking about a possible solution to mitigate the risk of being banned from using the Redcard or shopping online do to falling prey to a bad batch of GCs. What do you think about the following?
Open a Target.com account with a different email address (you may need an alternate physical address but you will not be shipping there) do not add your Redcard. Buy your Raise ect GCs, convert/combine them on your new Target account to larger GCs and send them to yourself at your everyday email address.
I don't feel this is dishonest in that the people that have been banned are not really resellers, they just got caught in the same net as the bad guys by association with the stolen (or inappropriately acquired GCs to be PC). Similar to the way dolphins are caught in tuna nets, kind of the wrong place at the wrong time. Reselling GCs is not illegal, buying the GC is not illegal, the process we go through to obtain the discounts is not illegal. It's just taking advantage of idiosyncrasies within a system. I suspect most people may buy a bit more than they normally would because they are on the sites (eBay or Target) for various reasons. There has to be a benefit to Target and Ebay or at least not a big enough drain that it's not worth closing the gap that allows this process to continue. I think I, like several others here, will stop using Raise (that's the only site I have used) and just buy Target GCs using my CC (and rewards from MyPoints, CC ect) on eBay during the 5x buck offers. For me the hassle, time, frustration and quirkiness of getting the Raise cards converted is just not worth it, especially if you are not up against a short deadline. I might change my mind if Raise starts hitting 10% discounts but for now I think I'll leave that part of the process off.

Well my new eBay account got myself a $5 coupon, so I got a $10 eBay gift card for $5. I was tickled.

FYI, I added the coupon to my account on Thursday but didn't use it until Friday evening after they changed it. I was successful in getting the discount on all my cards and I even did 2 different transaction because the first store only had 3 gift cards. Good Luck!

I guess I was just lucky and it was easy at Christmas! Thanks, I will keep working it.

I now have one 200 ebay cg with no red card discount but lots of time to change that! Thanks for the info.

HEB coupon update! Yesterday I could only get one gc using the coupon. Last night my husband went to work and told his coworker what happen (she was the one that told him about the deal). She kindly let me use her coupon by giving me her pin code. It worked at two different HEBs!!!! The first one I could only buy 20 gc and the second i picked up 14 more. I got 35 gc total and saved 700.00!!!! I'm so happy and excited!!

So, she had loaded the coupon prior to the change? Just trying to figure out how to tell my aunt to proceed on Monday when she is back in town. She did load the coupon prior to the change but now her coupon has changed and says one-time use.

They all say one time use only now. But, if added prior to the change, they should work fine for multiple purchases and transactions.

i'm expecting to make an ebay gift card purchase through target next week and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the most credit for it... I haven't heard much about using SB while purchasing gift cards - is it not possible? Or would I be better off using iConsumer?

This was true for me. I loaded mine prior to the change but didn't use it until after. It said "limit one" when I looked on the online app prior to checking out but still worked on multiple transactions.

Thank you everyone for your help today. This is truly a wonderful board full of kind, helpful people.

I spoke to DH tonight when he got home from work. He had an interesting perspective. He believes Target might actually think there is fraudulent activity on my card. I didn't use it very much at all prior to my churning which started a couple weeks ago. He thinks they may truly want to verify that someone else doesn't have my card since my spending pattern changed so drastically. We talked about it and will fax them the documentation they want on Monday. Hopefully that will clear things up, but with Target, who knows!

I'll keep you all posted. I sure hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. :-)

This is exactly what I was thinking!
