Is Iconsumer like ebates? I looked at it and it says if you join now you get 100 shares of their stock?
From what I can tell, it is similar to other rewards programs that pay you to shop through their portal. Ebates pays you a % of your subtotal back in cash and pays out quarterly as long as you have at least $5 in your account.

iConsumer also pays a cash back rebate that gets paid 90 days after the transaction is reported by the retailer (not necessarily 90 days after your shopping trip) and when your account has $25 worth of qualifying rebates. So, the first payment would be 90 days after you have $25 or more in rebates credited to your account. The whole business about awarding members shares of stock means nothing when the company has not gone public, nor has it received permission from the SEC to do so. According to their FAQs, they intend to sell their stock for 9¢ per share if they are approved. That number is subject to change (up or down) and is only on paper until you liquidate your shares and pay any brokerage fees.

I've never bought my tickets using gift cards, but we just became Costco members in the past year. Does Costco still sell gift cards? Am I understanding correctly that you buy the gift cards and they're sold discounted, and the money you save on the gift cards compares to the savings from a place like UT? Sorry for asking a newbie question that's probably been answered before in this thread.

Your % savings on the tickets at UT is going to depend on the number of days and other entitlements that you add to the ticket. Your % savings on Disney GCs purchased at Costco is going to depend on what Costco charges vs. what the GCs are actually worth. I don't know if Costco sells Disney GCs all year-round or only during the holidays. I know that Sam's Club sells them for $143 for a 3-pack of $50 GCs. That would be a savings of just under 5%. I also believe that BJ's sells them for $96 for a $100 GC (4% savings).

Since I'm in no mood to go through every ticket that UT sells to calculate the % savings on each one, I'm going to let you do the math for the tickets that you intend to buy to decide which would be the better deal.

Thank you for the information! I just read through the fine print and see they don't offer cash back on gift cards. So, no different than ebates after all.

So, she had loaded the coupon prior to the change? Just trying to figure out how to tell my aunt to proceed on Monday when she is back in town. She did load the coupon prior to the change but now her coupon has changed and says one-time use.

Yes she used it the first day it was available. Then I went today and used it two more times at two different hebs. Picking up a total of 35 gift cards. Also run them all on one transaction, then add your digi coupon. The machine will deduct the 20.00 off of each card. Also if you are using a credit card to purchase these gift cards, the customer service manager said they could only run 1500.00 on the credit card. So when I purchase the first 20 the total was 1580.00 after discount was applied. I had to pay the 80.00 in cash and then the rest on my credit card. The limit won't matter if the coupon was selected before they fixed it HTHs

I was wondering the same thing today about Target's 5%. I just did my first churn from Target to ebay and back to Target and was wondering if I was really saving money over UT. I already had UT prices (as of 2/8/16) and gate prices in my planning spreadsheet so it was easy to add a column for gate less 5%. In each case for 5 to 8 days the 5% was a bigger savings than UT.

What is the deal on ebay?

Please go back and read some of the past 20 or so pages. There is a lot of information that has been repeated over and over regarding using Target to buy ebay GCs and then using ebay GCs to purchase Target GCs which can then either be used to buy more ebay GCs or Disney GCs.

Will do, thank you. I don't know where to start on a thread as long as this one. Sometimes I just need direction :)

There are some good, recent posts that outline the method, as well as some others with links that will help you out. Too much info to cram in a single post and things are kind of fluid based on the most recent deals. Unfortunately, it really necessitates going back to read, Read, READ! It takes time, but it's worth the effort. Some people are saving more than 20% off the face value of their Disney GCs by employing the methods that others have posted.

At Christmas I received my redcard 5% when I purchased Disney gift cards with Target giftcards and my redcard set as default. Today I purchased an e-bay card with target gift card and the 5% did not apply. Any thoughts?

I will tell you what I did when I had some trouble with the discount. I would go in and try to buy the ebay gift cards, with an extra small item in my cart and go to pay with gc's and it just wouldn't show up, so I'd back out and try again. I tried buying with some gc's and a little on redcard, still wasn't working. Finally found this little trick that worked for me. I put my gc's and small item in cart. Each time I would try the gc's first, just in case it worked. When it didn't, I'd choose my target redcard to pay. The 5% showed up for just the small item. But, I'd save and continue. Then, up on the left side of the page, I'd choose the Edit payment link which takes me back to the payment page. I then switched it all to the gc's and saved and continued to check out. The 5% redcard discount stayed and applied to my whole entire order, including the gift cards I was buying! Hope this helps and works for you, if you try it!

You both are talking about buying tickets from UT and the possible savings. I've used UT for years, but this year I found tickets at Parksavers .com had a much better deal. For example, the tickets I want are two adult 7 day PH's. I saw a thread with Dissers talking about Parksavers, so I checked it out. They sells ticket vouchers, with codes they send a few days later so you can link the tickets to your MDE acct so you can then do the FP+, if you'd rather do that than use the vouchers in person when you arrive. Okay, so first saw the tickets I wanted were at $379.98, where as at UT they are $408.95 and at Disney they are currently at $424.94. I checked Parksavers a few days later and saw that they had a new deal, a 4 day ph/get 3 days free for $370.98. The seven day was still at $379, but hours later it dropped to equal the 4 day/3 free deal. That's a great deal, saving over $53 per ticket over Disney prices! And better than the UT tickets, as well. Those particular tickets are available for purchase until Mar 31st. When I called to ask if ticket prices rise, they will still have some tickets at that price, but after a week or so the prices would go up a little, but they'd still have the buy 4/get 3 free / 7 day deal. There were a few very recent threads on the Theme Parks and Attractions forum talking more details. Just look there for Parksavers. Now, can't use Disney gc's there, but the deal is a good one! It's almost a 13% savings!

Just a quick FYI . . . touringplans.com has a nice ticket search function where you enter exactly what type of ticket you want, and they tell you the cheapest option. Of course, nothing beats the Target/ebay gift card churning!!

Would someone be kind enough to explain how to transfer my 35 -100.00 gift cards into a smaller amount. I had a link to a website that does it but it didn't explain what happens after you put all the info in to transfer the amounts. Does that sigh give you a digital gc to use and how would I use that when I call disney or on their website? I'm sorry I'm being dense but I don't wont to screw this up.

Are you talking about the disneygiftcard .com website? If so, you can combine GCs onto a single GC, up to a total value not to exceed $1,000. you cannot combine partial amounts, it's all of nothing. They do not issue a digital GC. The amount gets combined with one of your other existing GCs.

My husband and I are strictly NO credit. No credit cards, no loans (aside from piles of student loans), no line of credit, etc. (Debt dumpers). Anyway, I know Target has a debit card which I *might* be able to talk hubby into since it's not credit based. Do you still receive the 5% discount when using it? Only problem is, we don't shop at Target a whole lot....

You're needing the exact same tickets I will need. 2 adult tickets, PH for 7 days. I'll also need 3 children's tickets too. It's worth looking at. I'm not familiar with Parksavers. This past trip was the first time we used a non-Disney broker and my mother nearly had a heart attack (and drove me INSANE) worrying over whether it was a scam or not. :sad2:

So as to not bombard you all with questions, I read and read and read last night ;), and I'm SO overwhelmed now! I definitely want in on better savings, so I'm going to have to hang out a lot more on this thread. I keep getting confused between Ebates questions and Ebay questions. I'm an Ebates member, but I thought you couldn't use it to buy giftcards. Some say you can, some say you can't. And then I still can't quite figure out how Ebay plays into all of it. I've always thought it was risky buying GCs off Ebay because you may be ripped off :scratchin. But if there's something I don't know, I'm willing to learn.

I'll keep reading, but I may need to go back further than the 20 pages suggested. If I don't lose my mind first! ;) :badpc:

I forgot to add- when we've bought from UT for WDW and GAT for DLR, I've always used the site to also add on character dining experiences, so I don't know if that ups my savings or not.

Yes - both versions of the Red card (debit & credit) will get you the 5% off.

There is one reseller on eBay that does huge volume and is fairly highly regarded here. They're Gift Card Mall, and they sell lots of different gift cards at face value with a small shipping fee. When people on this thread talk about buying GCs from eBay, they're talking about buying through GCM.

I'll keep reading, but I may need to go back further than the 20 pages suggested. If I don't lose my mind first! ;) :badpc:

There is a lot of information in this thread, but it's all very useful in the long run if you're willing to put in the time to learn it. There are good money-saving techniques as well as advice on how to avoid pitfalls and mistakes. Take your time, read back at least to around Christmas of last year, then if you have questions that haven't been answered, you'll have something specific we can really help you with.

We started buy Disney GC at Target and combine them through disneygiftcard.com. I have Costco AMEX which is going away soon so signed up for their offer for the Blue card which will give $300 credit if you spend $2500 in the first 3 months. Plan is to pay $2500 toward trip then apply the $300 towards more of balance. With cash back reward and $300 off I am not sure exactly how much I'll save but $300+ is not too bad.

So if my gift card say "activate for any amount from 15.00 to 500.00" I can use one of those cards and load it up to a 1000 or just 500.00? I guess that is my question.
