Disney Gift Card Deals

Regarding the MyPoints discussion: if you are a BzzAgent you get rewarded with MyPoints. So some of us have rewards there without buying anything. I'm slowly accruing points by this method.

Back to report a no-go at Lowes. As stated above, the register is pinged to not accept the gift card as payment. The clerk didn't know why. she asked the head cashier, who told her that gift cards are not considered Lowe's merchandise. I called hubby and told him to go back and tell whomever he talked to that they were wrong --- it was the manager. Go figure.

Now I sit with my churning money tied up at Lowe's and can't get the Disney gift cards there. :o(

Sorry it didn't work out for you. My husband is also a Lowe's employee. I don't remember how much you have tied up, but if it was me I'd probably just keep the gift cards to use at Lowe's. We are always buying home stuff there. If you got the cards at a discount and then use his employee discount you can probably see a decent savings on whatever you are buying there.

Most of you probably know this but I got burnt by it so I thought I'd post.

I needed to buy something from Staples and saw the deal on Staples giftcards on ebay. I also saw that they sell Target gift cards on Staples.com. So I went ahead and bought the $110 Staples gift card (for $100) from ebay. However I couldn't use the Staples gift card to buy any other gift card. When I took the target gift card out of my cart then I was able to use my Staples gift card. I still have $50 left on my Staples gift card which I know I'll use eventually, so I'll just pay myself back for the money lost from my 'churning fund'. Not a big deal for me thankfully, Just a heads up for others.

Has it been confirmed that Wal-Mart/Sam's Club no longer accepts gift cards to pay for gift cards? If it's confirmed, that would mean Target, eBay and Gamestop are the only to accept gift cards to pay for gift cards, correct?

Target, sams/walmart and ebay are the only ones I have always been able to use their giftcards to buy other giftcards (and only the "entertainment" cards, no Visa gift cards), with BestBuy, Gamestop and Kmart/Sears as "usually able to buy other store giftcards", but have heard reports of others getting shutdown. Walgreens, CVS, Lowes and Staples are all a no-go on other giftcards.

Walmart still works, at least in store.

And when you say Walmart still works- you mean Walmart still works at Sam's Club to buy discounted Disney gift cards?

I just keep thinking about someone posting not too long ago about it not working.
I mean I purchased Disney cards with Walmart gift cards at Walmart this month.

Ok. I seem to recall that someone tried using a Walmart gift card to buy the discounted Disney gift cards at Sam's Club (which has worked in the past) and it wouldn't work.

I'm only thinking about other possibilities if the Target churning stops working.

Toys R Us allows it, too, but keep it under $100. Anything over seems to require a manager override and they tend to say it isn't allowed. I think Staple's system allows it, but their cashiers are well trained to deny it.

I think the recent change at Walmart was you can no longer buy a Walmart gift card with a Walmart gift card.

I posted that Walmart/Sams no longer lets you use Walmart/Sams gift cards to buy Walmart/Sams gift cards. I have done this a lot in the past to "clean" gift cards bought from Raise. This is a very recent change.
I have NOT seen anyone mention that you can't buy Disney gift cards with Walmart/Sams gift cards.

Are mPoints and my points different?
Yes, they are different programs. mPoints changed their name to M+ Rewards a little while ago but I always forget and still call it mPoints. For that one, you earn points by using various apps. There are a lot of different ones but I mostly use one called M+Places which gives you points for checking in to locations, clicking on prize boxes, watching videos, etc. I work in Manhattan so I'm able to get the max check-ins per day very easily. I also get M+ Rewards in the Weather Channel app.

My Points is a website/shopping portal. There you earn points by clicking through them to do online shopping, and they also have earning opportunities through paid click emails, videos, search, etc. I used to use My Points more but now with smart phones I find the app-based rewards programs easier to keep up with & earn more.

I don't understand why you would want to buy a Walmart gift card with a Walmart gift card? I see from this thread that you can no longer do this but I don't understand the rationale to begin with? Can anyone enlighten me?

I recall Toys R Us working in the past too, however in early January I was denied trying to purchase a $100 eBay card in conjunction with some other items while using a Toys R Us gift card. The cashier said the register would allow me to pay for the toy with the gift card, but that it would require me to pay for the eBay gift card with a cc, effectively making a split payment. She quoted the excessive fraud they experienced last year as a reason for the declination. I said I'd hold off on the eBay card and the manager had to come over and cancel the transaction because the card had already been temporarily loaded. Maybe it's just my store/registers that have been updated.

Many liked to do this if they were using a discount gift cards purchased from one of the online resellers so that the original owner of the gift card no longer had access to use the card....it "cleaned" the card so to speak and gave the buyer a new card where only they had access to the new gift card number.
