Haven't tried but I got that email too and in the fine print it said not valid on gift cards

I know, I just didn't know if Disney cards were entertainment cards there like they were at target.

Has anyone tried to buy Ebay or Target gcs on the Staples website using a Staples gc? They have a 16 digit promotion code box during checkout, and I would think that might be for the Staples gc.

I haven't tried with that particular promo, but I casually asked if the 10% off for military/veterans applied to gift cards and the cashier was nice enough to try (it was a no-go), so I suspect no other % off discount will work either.

So I can't get the target site to give me 5% off using gift cards. I'm trying to buy $400 in Disney gift cards. I initially use my Prepaid RedCard and it shows the price as $380. Then I click on pay with gift card and apply $380 of my gift card to the purchase. That works and it shows $380 will be applied from my gift card. I click save and continue and the next screen reverts back to $400. I've done this 6 times already and every time it reverts back to $400. Am I doing anything wrong?

I'm wondering if this is an issue because it's a prepaid redcard as opposed to a credit or debit one. It still gives you the same benefits though. However, I've used it in the store before where you get a free gift card on a purchase and the cashier splits the order and applies the gift card. In those cases I never got the 5% savings on the amount that the gift card covers. I wonder if that's a deficiency with the prepaid version of the redcard.

Does anyone know if I can use the redcard to add to my account immediately if I apply for one online?

I missed the prepaid part before. Usually takes a week or two to get the card and I think you need the physical card to add it to your account as you'll need the security code on the back.

I read on another site that the prepaid card isn't working for 5% off gift cards. I think you're right in that you might have to get the credit/debit version.

Not sure if this would work but putting it out there. Meijer MPerks has a coupon for $10 off a $100 or more Visa gift card. I'm thinking you could get one and then use it to buy a Disney card at Target with the 5% Red Card discount.

I don't need any right now but will be interested to see if that works.

I tried the prepaid redcard and couldn't get the 5% off to work online at all, for anything. It did work in store. I spent a lot of time on the phone asking why it wouldn't work on the website, then finally gave up and applied for the credit card version. I hope you have better luck.

I don't think you would be able to use the Visa gift card at Target and get the 5% because that only works online with a Target gift card. But you could use that Visa GC to purchase a Target gift card and turn around and use that online to get the 5% discount. I do that all the time. My local Safeway offered an instant $15 off a $150 Amex gift card. I used it at Safeway to get $150 in Target cards earning 2x in fuel points. Haven't decided what to do next yet. Hoping for another eBay deal.

To follow up, I applied for the credit REdCard but the system was down and I got a technical difficulty message. THis was annoying as I was told that I'd be provided with info on the credit card account so that I could make a purchase and get 5% off. But now Target won't give me my card number over the phone.

So I called and they applied the 5% off manually. THey were pretty helpful over the phone. Interestingly, when I made my second order for $300 in gift cards I only had $284.99 on my target gift card so I had to add 0.01 from my prepaid redcard. When I did this I got the 5% off of everything somehow.

So is there any way to tell the target website that I only want to use a certain amount of money from my gift cards? That way for my subsequent orders I could just leave 1 cent over for my prepaid redcard and everything should work. I haven't yet figured out how to limit the amount used from the gift card though.

Is this something in store, or I could do this and buy the Visa gc online? And, if it's online, where can I use it to buy a target gc? Could I buy a target gc with a Visa gc at target? I wonder if there is a limit on how many times you could use the $10 off a $100 gc?

Okay, so please bear with me, having a mental block maybe, lol. But say I buy a visa gc that I spend $90 for, when would I see the extra 5% from target? It would charge my target gc $95 to get the $100 Disney gc. Can someone help me see this clearly, I really need some spelling out in detail I guess cause I know I'm missing something, lol! Thanks to any help with my clouded thinking at this moment!
