Disney Gift Card Deals

In my opinion 67 separate orders placed for the same item is going to raise red flags, although if you think otherwise I guess we can agree to disagree. Although honestly I hate that line, as I have a coworker of mine, very good worker, but socially awkward repeats it all the time but that's another story.

I would rather say that you think you disagree with me but you're mistaken. You're simply experiencing an illusion caused by the limits of your comprehension. If you were able to fully comprehend both the problem and my recommended solution you would agree with me. So what appears to be a difference of opinion is just you wrestling with your own defective brain.

Ok that's just a joke ripped from a comic strip I have hanging in the office.

I am so scared! I placed a large order to Raise (after placing 2 separate $100 order) and I have not heard anything from them. With both smaller orders I received the gift cards within the hour. I thought I had read through the whole website and was confident in the placing the order. But after not hearing (email or phone) from the company I went to call the and couldn't find a number anywhere. Also just found that the purchase guarantee does not cover electronic gift cards (* Return policy does not apply to electronic gift cards or mobile gift cards due to the nature of the program.), and it's only good for $1000 a customer (We make such guarantees for up to 100 days from the date of your purchase, up to a maximum of $1000 per customer.). My order was for electronic gc, and well over $1000. I am freaked out - has anyone had a similar situation with placing a large order from Raise? PLEASE tell me everything is going to be ok!
Call 888-578-8422 for Raise customer support, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with their helpfulness.

QUESTION- I don't see them online, but does anyone know if K-mart STORES sell Disney GC? I have $90 in Discover Card cashback rewards and could cash that in for 2-$50 K-mart cards using on the $90 in rewards.
Next question would be.... can you use a K-mart GC to purchase a GC?

Okay, on a more serious note, I just checked the status of my 6 orders that were in order created since Friday, they have officially been cancelled.

If you're talking about me, the orders were placed from four family members. So it wouldn't be from one person. Furthermore, we aren't the only board who posted about this, so there are literally hundreds if not thousands of people doing it. So please don't try to blame me or the others who took part. It's too bad it was pulled, but this happens very often in the coupon world.

Well the person complaining about abuse placed 6 orders so I assume the magic number is 7.

Draw the line where you like. If you read the thread you will see I admitted I was getting greedy with 6 orders. Not much difference between 6 and 67.

I ordered EXACTLY 0. Would have loved to order 67 or even 6. I don't know where I would draw the line at "Abuse." I suppose for me it's at the point of "More than I need" in order to profit. So If I needed 30 for my vacation and I bought 60. 30 for me, 30 to sell at let's say $45.00 (to the unsuspecting) then I might call that abuse.

The point is, it happened. We on the boards can only speculate as to why. Maybe if some had ordered less, it might be still in place OR it might not. perhaps one person (who is not even on these boards) ordered 100 and that was the trigger. Or maybe the trigger was someone at 27 (and it only got stopped after a review process but still allowed the order of 60+ to go through). Please stop blaming folks for something that you don't know for certain is the cause. It only creates bad feelings for all.

The only line that matters is the one that the retailer draws. The PP who ordered 60+ GCs in two days was not the only person who made an excessive number of orders in a short period of time. Once a deal goes viral, people go crazy trying to get as much as they can before the merchant slams the door closed. DinseyFansinLINY had the right approach - keeping it quiet and under the radar for as long as possible was smart. Were my own orders (which totaled 8) excessive? Quite possibly. At that point, the cat was out of the bag and it was only a matter of time before the deal was killed. Had I been the one to discover the deal, I probably would not have shared the info until I had purchased what I wanted.

That's true. I first heard about this from various Frequent Flyer boards, then saw it publicly on twitter several times; I only heard about it here recently.

Also, if you're going to complain about those who paid their entire cruise with these etc, you should be aware multiple offers were going on, and they were even posted on Facebook.

I think this experience just teaches people not to share deals they come across, for fear a few, let's say overzealous, people will ruin it for the bunch. What is the point of having a group to post deals in if people are going to go crazy and get the deal shut down before others have a chance to take part? I see both sides of the situation, don't get me wrong, I'm just a little sad that it's almost too competitive and becoming less of a "let's help each other out" type of atmosphere.

The way the Frequent Flyer community has dealt with this is to first create invite-only email lists (think Google Groups), then second to create boards that have a private side for which you have to be vetted. In the end, it has worked well but has only kept the cat in the bag for an extra week or two.

And to those pointing out that the deal was not posted only on this website but others as well, that is true. But when you take a look at the dates the deal was posted on other websites, it was awhile back - several in April, a couple in June, a couple in July. The deal was pointed out on this website the same day that the offer got shut down. Coincidence? You can interpret it how you like. Just interesting to note.

Yeah those frequent flyer people are intense!! I skimmed a few forums and quickly realized they are out for blood. Lol.

I had a slight moment of panic when I saw my Target orders canceled, not that I really expected them to go through at this point, but now worried about the Target gift card codes I bought on Raise. I didn't want the seller to see that the card has a balance again and then take it :(. So I am buying myself Target egift cards, basically combining my little gift cards into new egift card numbers to reduce the risk of them stealing my money.

I considered reselling them on Raise, but their fees would mean I'd take a huge hit. I hope if this deal doesn't come back, at least they stock Disney gift cards so I can buy them at either retail or at 5% off! :D

The deal was posted on here Thursday night. The deal was shut down on Saturday morning. Not quite the very same day. But yes, it does appear that until people found that they could apply the discount to GC purchases, there wasn't much buzz about this offer.

I'd be interested to hear if Target lets you buy Target Gift Cards with other Gift Cards. I had thought this was a no-no.

I am annoyed that target didn't send any email notification that orders were canceled. I only ordered one, but I got my confirmation and they should at least send something saying it was canceled.
