Disney Gift Card Deals

I don't fault people for wanting to maximize their savings. But I do believe that when you place 60+ orders in a very short period of time, it brings the loophole in the offer to the attention of a company's loss prevention division. Unlike you, I do not feel that it's only a matter of waiting until they have more Disney GCs in stock. The offer no longer works for any other GCs that are still in stock on the Target website. It won't work for Disney GCs when they get more of them.
Agree! Most people on disboards recognize that, when it comest to these "finds" (deals to get Disney at a discount), a certain amount of stealth must over-ride the instinct to "get all you can", as fast as you can. Stealth (which includes common sense and wisdom) allows the deal to remain "under the radar" and thus continues to be open for all to take advantage of, at a reasonable rate of use. Result: all get to take advantage and over time, all get as many as they need.

I ordered six(6) Disney $100 gift cards on Friday night.. The $50 ones were all sold out. I noticed today that all of them were cancelled and the money was refunded to my Target gift card and it now shows no Disney Gift cards in Stock.

Did the offer work BEFORE? From what I read, it seems that folks only tried it after they found that the Disney Gift Cards were no longer available. Also I have read posts that the Disney Gift Cards are classed as entertainment which is why it works for them. Others have already stated that they didn't work on SW Airlines Gift cards prior to this anyway. While I realize an iTunes Gift card might be considered as "Entertainment" as well, the question is, is that how Target classified them. I don't know. So while we can only wait and see if the offer "Loophole" that allowed many to save an extra percentage is going to be closed or not, it's not right to blame anyone. If it was a "Loophole" then it would eventually be found out anyway. Please don't be bitter if you were unable to exploit a loophole that someone else was.

You'll work no more overtime than you had planned to work last week before this deal existed. It's not like your vacation suddenly rose in price. Don't try to guilt people who had the means to take advantage of the deal when they did.

Many people had the means to take advantage but the deal was likely killed by the few who abused it.

I guess we will find out Wednesday. Apparently that's when the supply is supposed going to be re-stocked.

Target would not have canceled the orders that hadn't shipped if they intend to continue to allow the $5/$50 discount to apply to them. They would have let the customer know that the item was on backorder or they would have advised the customer of a delayed shipping date. They cancel orders when a sale isn't intended to include the item.

BTW, the deal never worked for e-gift cards (like Southwest GCs) but I was able apply it to other physical GCs (like the physical version of iTunes cards). It doesn't work for those same physical GCs now.

It may very well be "Dead" as a deal now. Regardless whether it was a result of some individuals "Abusing" it, as was alleged, or not, if Target was going to stop it because it was a loophole, I don't necessarily think it's a result of someone ordering multiple times as much as it is the sheer quantity (be it a few people ordering large amounts or a lot of people ordering a few amounts) that was the trigger. Also know that there was a "Target" deal that expired on August 8th ALSO allowing a $5.00 off of $50.00 or more that could have added to the issue getting more visibility by folks at Target.

I actually just tried putting a bunch of random items in my cart and the deal isn't working at all. I bet they pulled it completely. Stinks cause it would have been good for holiday shopping.

Interesting. I just placed the same items that I ordered yesterday morning into my cart and the $5 still comes off. Hmmm...I wonder why the PayPal link works for me and not you?

Perhaps when they shut off their own "Target" discount, they disabled the "Paypal" discount.

I agree. And I just wanted to add that I knew about this discount before it went viral. I was quietly placing orders sporadically and decided not to post about it online because I knew it would kill the deal. I was so bummed when I saw that it had been posted on slickdeals, in blogs, on facebook, etc. In the future, do not share these types of deals with anyone unless you want it to end. I am not trying to be selfish but some people abuse the system and wind up ruining it for everyone else.

You are smart!
It seems like I saw on 1 website that the Paypal deal started in February?

A deal like this can be viewed as a coffer that has is programed to dispense food enough for one day for all that wish to partake but when enough people try to obtain enough food from the dispenser for a month the coffer shuts down and then no one can get any. Wouldn't it be better for the coffer to continue to dispense to ALL.... until 12/31/15 at least?

That another poster mentioned the deal being available since Feb and then suddenly not working after the info went viral, lends proof that abuse kills a deal. Anyone still doubting that a rush on a deal shuts it down has simply not been a visitor to the Budget Board long enough or frequent enough to know that this happens. Historically, we see that deals DO get shut down when people "overindulge".

We will just have to agree to disagree. If someone told me I could instantly save $335 on my vacation by placing 67 orders, I'd do it in a second if I had the $3000 available to me. That's a substantial savings and the people who "abused" the deal shouldn't be made to feel bad for doing so. Why should they pass up significant savings?

And like others have stated, we don't even know if this is the reason the deal was killed. Others are reporting it isn't working for anything right now, not just gift cards.

I'm new and want to contribute, and I didn't see this posted when I searched the thread. Right now with an American Express Business card and the right sync offer, you can get $250 in Disney Gift Cards for $175, up to 5 different times. To do so, look for the "Stock Up and Save for Your Business" American Express offer under "Offers for You" in your online account.

After the offer is applied to your AmEx, buy $250 in Disney Gift Cards at Home Depot, up to 5 times in 5 separate transactions, and you'll get a $75 statement credit for each. I've already done this 3 times, and plan to do it 2 more to renew my Premium Annual Passport.

I am so scared! I placed a large order to Raise (after placing 2 separate $100 order) and I have not heard anything from them. With both smaller orders I received the gift cards within the hour. I thought I had read through the whole website and was confident in the placing the order. But after not hearing (email or phone) from the company I went to call the and couldn't find a number anywhere. Also just found that the purchase guarantee does not cover electronic gift cards (* Return policy does not apply to electronic gift cards or mobile gift cards due to the nature of the program.), and it's only good for $1000 a customer (We make such guarantees for up to 100 days from the date of your purchase, up to a maximum of $1000 per customer.). My order was for electronic gc, and well over $1000. I am freaked out - has anyone had a similar situation with placing a large order from Raise? PLEASE tell me everything is going to be ok!

Posting to save others the time.... As the poster said, this offer is for the AmEx BUSINESS card. I had a tiny glimmer of hope that maybe it was on my personal AmEx. Checked and it is NOT.
