If you have more time and a Best Buy that's convenient to you, taking advantage of Swagbucks' in-store purchase promotion will give you a higher percentage cash back, but it will take more days and trips to cross the finish line.
Can you explain how Swagbucks works? I've been trying RMN thanks to everyone here, and I think I'm ready to attempt Swagbucks. From what I've read in the past it seems complicated, so I want to make sure I do it right!

Step 1: Sign up for Swagbucks
Step 2: Find the Best Buy in store offer on the SB website
Step 3: Print out the QR code for in store purchase
Step 4: Bring QR code to Best Buy and purchase $100 in gift cards, having the cashier scan your QR code before the order is totaled.
Step 5: Receive 750 SB (worth $7.50) within a few days. Earn 200 more SB in about a month.
Bonus pts for also using your BB rewards number and a credit card with a good cash back %.
Additional caveat: if you go to redeem BB rewards, make sure to have at least $100 still hit your CC in that single purchase. Also, limit one purchase per calendar day per SB account.

That’s it in anutshell. There are some subtleties and higher level tricks to squeeze out some extra savings, but what I outlined will save you over 10%.

So, despite BB&B sending me an email saying one of my rebate forms had been rejected, I received all the gift cards in the mail that I was supposed to. Perhaps they had so many people call & complain that they got their IT staff to fix the problem or manually review & approve? *shrug* But the end result was that they made good on the cards they were supposed to, so I'm not really going to complain.

All of which is good because I'd tossed my receipts out after I got the first batch of emails saying they'd received my submission, so I didn't have any easy way to provide documentation of my purchase.

Usually, if they fix the mistake in the rebate system then it will automatically validate all the rebates it originally rejected. I am glad this worked out for you.

Glad it worked out for you. I can’t wait to get mine. Hopefully it’s $60 instead of $20. I bought a $200 MC and $100 Visa.

What’s everybody doing with their rebates cards? Using them or selling them to card cash? I’m undecided. Someone said registers accept gc for gc but some stores won’t allow them. I do need stuff they sell but I don’t need it right now

I was wondering the same thing, having never shopped at BB&B before (except to buy gift cards). I now have $170 in BBB gift cards in $10 increments (that is 17 $10 gift cards.) I might buy some Sensodyne toothpaste or shampoo but that will not come nearly to $170. From what I understand, pretty much everything you buy at BBB you need to use a 20% off coupon otherwise it is very expensive. I'm not sure if these 20% off coupons are on the whole order or just for one item and also where you get these coupons from.

Also, if you order online you will have to spend at least $39.99 to get free shipping or otherwise you can pick your order up in the store. And just a note on buying things like toothpaste, you might not want to buy it online as you never know what the expiration date will be because after the expiration date the fluoride starts losing its potency. At least in store, you can see what the expiration date is before buying it.

I may end up just selling some of the BBB gift cards on raise, for a $10 gift card you will get around $8.15 on raise after fees.

Thank you! I’m going to try this today. Can I have the cashier scan the code first before scanning my items? I’m not sure how else you’d know it’s scanned before the order is totaled.

The 20% BBB coupons are per item, and you can use multiple coupons per order (1 per item). I get them in the mail and in text messages from BBB. The text message ones don’t come as often, and they do expire. The mailed coupons have expiration dates, but you can use them even after they have expired. There are also $5 coupons that are occasionally mailed that can have a better value depending on the items you are purchasing.

I find that’s safest as when I used to have them scan afterwards, sometimes I’d get a cashier that was in a hurry and ultimately not get the credit.

It's been a while since I tried it, but can you still use Happy gift cards at Home Depot to buy Disney gift cards?

If you haven't shopped there, you might want to take a look around the store. I returned a gift without a receipt and had store credit to burn, and ended up finding some really useful things there. You can get basics like laundry detergent, but also other household items, either for personal use or as gifts. My kids got dream tents for Christmas that I bought there on sale. When my BBB rebate gift cards come in, I have my eye on a Harry Potter Tervis travel mug.

@Livelovedance has done a nice job explaining the coupons. In the checkout line, I am frequently behind people with a coupon for each item. BBB will also price match, with the caveat that they will give you the competitor's price OR honor their 20% off coupon, but they won't match the competitor's price and then let you apply your 20% off coupon to that. Still, it's a way to get "regular" prices on items without having a coupon for everything.

Does anyone know if Lowe’s sells visa gc? I have an amex offer for 10%, but I can save more if I buy visa gc and run through swagbucks at Best Buy.

My nearest Lowe’s is not close, but I’d make the trip to pick up a few if I knows they were there
I got the AMEX offer for Lowes too but haven't had a chance to check it out.

So when I went today I handed it to the cashier first. She scanned it twice I think, then said she would scan it at the end (I guess an error came up?). She rang up my gift cards and then scanned the code again. The following message showed up on my receipt:

You purchased the following:
SWAGBUCKS $0 AFFILIATE SKU

Does that mean it worked?
