I can’t use Dosh or RMN and receive credit by doing a Sam’s purchase with Sam’s GCs, right? I have $50 in Sam’s GCs to use and would like to put that towards Disney GCs, but wasn’t sure what avenue to use to get more of a discount.

I have gone through RMN online and paid with a GC and received credit, but it wasn't at Sam's and I bought merchandise. Still, I think the odds are in your favor of it working.

Point of sale activation gift cards (like we've been buying for Disney) are no longer technically eligible for purchase with BB rewards. However, it still seems to be working. I just ordered a $15 starbucks card for in store pickup and used my rewards points fine.

OMG!!! I just had a HUGE amount ($100) go from pending to available!! Plus I just told DH to pay for his car repair ($800) on our BB card so that I could earn some more GC money! Ugh!!

Well, I guess this will help us get rid of another credit card. We have NO use for the Best Buy Visa card now. Nice move, Best Buy...just as we were planning to get a new laptop for our daughter, too.

We were planning to get my daughter a laptop from BB anyways so this can save me. The laptop should cost about $600. Instead of putting the $600 on our BB Visa, I will pay for it with one of our cash back cards instead. On the same transaction, I will buy a Disney gift card and load it with whatever amount I have available in BB rewards (I think I am currently sitting on about $105, but I'll probably have about $120 by the time we shop). Then, I will use my rewards and my credit card to pay, and of course, I will remember my SwagBucks QR code too. This will (hopefully) work the same way that my Target "conversion" works.

It's such a bummer because I was making almost $10/month in rewards, just from our gas, grocery and dining purchases. That, coupled with their great bonus coupons (11% back on a single purchase) netted me a LOT of rewards every year. This stinks...As Disney gets more expensive, every way we find to make it affordable seems to go away...

YMMV, but I used the RMN offer at Sam's for $5 back on a $70 purchase. I used two VGC, 1 Sam's GC and my CC for only $1.98. RMN credited a couple days ago.

Has anyone else had problems buying DGCs from ShopDisney using pre-paid Visa cards? I've been starting my savings from scratch, as I used to get Target GCs from Swagbucks, then buy DGCs with those. But since that's a no go, I've been cashing out to the pre-paid Visa. Did my first purchase with it at ShopDisney and it wouldn't go through because it's a pre-paid card.

I've just tried using the pre-paid card at Target.com this morning and I'm crossing fingers that goes through!

I've been loading my pre-paid Visas to my PayPal account and then checking out at ShopDisney via PayPal without any issue...

...until yesterday...

I placed an order for a $25 e-gift card last night at 6pm EST and paid with PayPal. It says that most gift cards are received within 2 hours but may take up to 24 hours. As of now, I still have not received anything. On top of that, I also did not receive a "receipt" from PayPal, showing that I made a purchase. When I go to my PayPal account, it does show that the purchase was made and that the payment was made, but I usually get a separate e-mail from PayPal that indicates that I made a purchase. The only e-mail that I have that shows that I made the purchase is the confirmation from ShopDisney. This has never happened before so I am a little concerned.

My ShopDisney $25 gift card order wouldn't work on my laptop because of a "payment error" but when I did the same order on my smartphone it worked just fine using my SB virtual Visa.

It did work! Made the purchase about 3 hours ago, and it showed up about one hour ago. No issues!

I think my new "usual" plan will be cashing out Swagbucks to Walmart gift cards. Then I'll use those cards to by the DGCs through Sam's, using RMN. This virtual visa thing has been too much of a headache!

I do not have luck buying DGC at Shopdisney with a virtual Visa but I always buy the egift disney cards at Target.com with the virtual Visa. Never any problem with Target!

Another person whose giftcards from bb weren't activated called today and once I finally got to a real person she was super helpful but only able to get one of the cards to work - she sent out a replacement and it doesn't sound like I'm getting refunded and then it's being resent. she was just able to re-ship the one card. so fingers crossed my pending $$$ stays there!

So when I went today I handed it to the cashier first. She scanned it twice I think, then said she would scan it at the end (I guess an error came up?). She rang up my gift cards and then scanned the code again. The following message showed up on my receipt:

And tell me that yes it has Swagbucks written on the receipt. I didn’t used to ask but then a couple times it hadn’t worked so I started asking every time then. They seemed to know what it was and didn’t seem to mind by asking. Why is the Target one over? I thought you just use your redcard to buy the gift card to get 5% off.

Okay, lol, I’m really not good at this lol. But first of all it absolutely is not a credit at all. It is a website that’s offers various ways to earn a variety of gift cards, as well as shop at various places (such as target, amazon, Macy’s, Best Buy, etc) getting a discount linking thru Swagbucks to earn swagbucks=SB. Now many people here on the disboards are trying to help finance their Disney Vacations. You earn SB’s to then cash out or redeem the Swagbucks so that you can get cash to your Paypal acct to then buy Disney gc’s anywhere you decide or actually use for anything you want, or maybe cash out to Walmart gc’s to then buy Disney gift cards. Lots of choices, these are two examples. We try to find various deals to save a good percentage on buying our gc’s. I basically use only my free SB’s redeemed to paypal to buy my Disney gc’s. Depending what deals you find or can take advantage of you can get those redeemed SB’s to stretch even further which is awesome too. Checkout Swagbucks dot com and create an acct, it’s free. 1 SB = 1 cent, so earning can be slow if you dint have a kit if time but anything helps. It can be a bit frustrating or tedious, but it’s my main way of earning my Disney vacations. You need to see which things work well for you as far as earning SB’s, not everything works for everyone. Annoying when you can’t get something to work that the next guy does but just keep trying, looking what works for you and what doesn’t. Sometimes certain deals are offered on one page for x small amount of SB and then on another page same thing (such as Hulu or Gillette) will be offered fir a very much larger amount to earn so dint be too quick to jump on something and even ask others if your not sure. Best place to do that is noted below!

You’ll find much more SB info and tips to use there that is on topic, and everyone in that thread is basically a SB user as opposed to this thread where many don’t use SB. Many of us in the Sb thread come here in addition, but I think there are many here that don’t use SB at all. Also, many people just use SB. For bill paying, or for Xmas gift shopping, or other family needs, not just financing vacations, lol!

Anyway, sorry to talk so much and probably very confusing. Hopefully you found some useful info that will help you to at least get started. Hopefully it made some sense! I know I left a ton out but it’s already overwhelming, But you’ll learn as you go! Good luck!
