Disney Gift Card Deals

Just got my BestBuy order consisting of two, $25 Disney gift cards. Both were activated and I was able to register them on the GC website no problem. They are now combined with my main GC stash for my resort deposit.

I will note, it looks like they were shipped to me from a store. I recognize the labels from in-store pickup.

RMN still shows activated, not pending.

For the Best Buy gift card deals does it have to be a Disney gift card? Could I buy a few Cricket refill cards up to $100 and get the swagbucks?

Doesn't have to be Disney, that's just what we mostly focus on :) My last few were Amazon and I've done Netflix and Hulu and several others. I don't recall if I tried a prepaid phone card but I don't think that would be any different. Just keep in mind Swagbucks goes by your subtotal so if it was 99.98 before tax you'd only get the lower bonus pay out. I'm not sure how the extra E911 fee enters into it but I would think it'd be part of the subtotal and count for SB. I'm pretty sure I got BB rewards on it so it should be in the subtotal.

Step 1: Sign up for Swagbucks
Step 2: Find the Best Buy in store offer on the SB website
Step 3: Print out the QR code for in store purchase
Step 4: Bring QR code to Best Buy and purchase $100 in gift cards, having the cashier scan your QR code before the order is totaled.
Step 5: Receive 750 SB (worth $7.50) within a few days. Earn 200 more SB in about a month.
Bonus pts for also using your BB rewards number and a credit card with a good cash back %.
Additional caveat: if you go to redeem BB rewards, make sure to have at least $100 still hit your CC in that single purchase. Also, limit one purchase per calendar day per SB account.

That’s it in anutshell. There are some subtleties and higher level tricks to squeeze out some extra savings, but what I outlined will save you over 10%.

There is a Swagbucks thread in the budget forum. Check it out for more money making tips.
Can I use prepaid visa/mc gift cards? I have Staples 10% Offer through Amex. Next time Staples has no fee I want to buy $500 worth and then buy Disney gift cards.

Someone on reddit highlighted terms and conditions of the Best Buy Rewards program changed effective yesterday. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/my...es/pcmcat311100050001.c?id=pcmcat311100050001

Point of sale activation gift cards (like we've been buying for Disney) are no longer technically eligible for purchase with BB rewards. However, it still seems to be working. I just ordered a $15 starbucks card for in store pickup and used my rewards points fine.

I have a bunch of points pending. Do you happen to know how long it takes for them to come available?

Mine were instant for online use.

ETA: and my in store pick up was ready in like 15 mins. DEFINITELY always using in store pickup for any future gift card purchases.

Alas, I have practically the same amount of points pending as I do available. I’m guessing they become available at 30 days after purchase.

So glad I cashed in my rewards this past weekend. I had $150 and kept thinking what if they stop allowing it with all the changes that they keep making! Guess I have to rethink the whole SB deal if I can’t turn those rewards to Disney anymore.

Pending BB rewards points are credited about 15 days after the purchase date, no matter what status level you are.

I have all of $15 worth of points that can be cashed out. So I can't decide if I spend a bit more to earn enough to 0 me out completely and take my chances or just take the $15 towards a GC before it gets cut off.

I can’t use Dosh or RMN and receive credit by doing a Sam’s purchase with Sam’s GCs, right? I have $50 in Sam’s GCs to use and would like to put that towards Disney GCs, but wasn’t sure what avenue to use to get more of a discount.

I’m not too worried. I always end up buying stuff at Best Buy a couple times a year so I’ll just use them then but I will be very annoyed if they stop it...

If you're planning to buy merchandise, it's actually better to apply the Best Buy rewards to those purchases. The rewards come off the item price (like a coupon), and reduce the sales tax amount. You save a tiny bit more than if you apply them to a gift card purchase (for which you don't pay sales tax).

Oooh... nice tip! Thanks!

Ahhh... we dont but merchandise a ton, but DH did buy something last weekend. Should have used them then and just bought a gift card to get him to $100 for swagbucks lol. Will remember for next time!

Definitely not Dosh - that’s only earned through linked credit cards.

RMN is a maybe. I’m trying with GC purchase only (no cc), so we’ll see.

ordered 2 $25 Disney GCs from Besty Buy. One was activted and one was not. I called and they were not able to activate the second card. They said they were going to refund $25 back to my debit card but it would take 7-10 business days. I probably won't get the RMN credit. Still, since signing up a couple of weeks ago-I have $45 in my account and $40 pending. Not bad. Thanks guys for posting all these deals.
