Disney Gift Card Deals

I asked this on another thread days ago but it's had no activity. It has been 6 years since we have been to Disney and we are booked for this June. I have been reading about buying gift cards and some about the DVA. My question is: Can I buy as many discounted gift cards as I need to pay off my whole balance (over $3000) then add them all into a DVA to pay Disney in April. I will have over 60 cards if I do it the way I am thinking but it will save me about $150! That's $150 more to spend on other things. Is there a limit to the number of cards I can put into DVA as a whole? Is there a limit to how many I can enter at one time?

There are no limits. My current goal through DVA is $9000 (for my Adventures by Disney trip). I am adding $900 of gift cards per month to hit that goal. Also, for every $1000 you spend with DVA, you are eligible for a $20 gift card. So in addition to your $150 you saved via discounts, you will also be eligible for $60 in physical gift cards. Just be sure to request them 4-6 weeks out from your trip to receive them prior to departure.

I am doing the same thing as what you are planning. I have added up to 20 gift cards at one time and not had a problem so far. We'll be using the account to pay for our whole package and I'm planning on funding a extra $500 just to combine the gift cards for the hotel.

I have put in $3,300 in gift cards so far. So I don't think there's any type of limit.

I have only done 2-3 at a time though, but I have read on a few threads on here that people have had some issues with it glitching when they have tried to do 5 or 6 in one day?

I do think you are somewhat limited in what the DVA will pay for. You can buy tickets with it and also a package. However, I've read that you cannot use it to pay for meals or even your hotel room if you are traveling "a la carte." So, it depends. As others have said, there is no limit to the number of cards you can upload to your DVA. I love that account. It has worked well for me to purchase tickets and pay for my cruises. Good luck!

Thank you all for your replies! I will start ordering my gift cards right away. I will use the DVA to pay for my package and get a couple extra gift cards for the kids to use for their souvenirs. I can hardly wait!

The only thing with the vacation account is to watch the time you will need the funds for your trip. They have a time frame that account needs to be open for before you get the additional 20 per 1000 I think it's 3 or 4 months. So if tour trip is April its a bit to soon to get the benifit of opening the account.

For discounted Target cards I also recommend Giftcardzen. Last few times they have had the cards at a bigger discount than Raise - they also run a lot of promos that make the cards even cheaper. Their customer service if awesome as well, had to call because I got the wrong card (noticed right away so they had not sent it yet) and they fixed the problem for me right away.

Anyone purchased from Cardpool? how long does it take to get your electronic gift card?
I have used Cardpool before and they are legit. The cards are usually in my inbox within 1-2 hours but if it is your first purchase it might take longer.

Not sure if it's been said before or not but I get the gift cards at GE for the fuel perks when they have 20 cents off. I use my disney Visa card to get the points. I will by thru Ebates and can get a few percent back from them for buying the cards and they ship free to my home. So I get points on the Visa card, money back from Ebates and can save money on gas making sure to take an extra container or two to make sure to get the full 30 gallons allotted. I then take the cards and put them into my Disney vacation account. I have my trip date out five years and put all the cards into the account and then pay for the trip using the vacation account getting another $20 for every 1000 spent. I try and keep to the nearest 1000 and finance a very small amount less then 1000 (cause I round off the account to the nearest 1000) getting the six months at zero percent on the card. It's small amounts but all add up over time and it's not hard to do very easy. I also keep an eye out on the target cards and just do the math including fuel savings to see what's best. I know that I have saved close to 250 to 300 on just one small 5 day trip at a value resort. I also fly southwest buying gifts cards for that and make sure to sign up for the frequent flyer program even knowing I am not a real frequent flyer but points don't expire with them. Over time the points will add up and I get a free flight about every few years. Very easy to do.

Quick question for you... I also like to get my disney GC at giant eagle because of the fuel perks. Are you buying a GE gift card from Ebates and taking that to GE to buy your disney GC?

Just wanted to note that I did not automatically get 20c fuelperks for purchasing Disney gift cards at Giant Eagle. I had to e-mail them to add fuelperks to my account.

Please keep in mind that when you are funding your Disney Vacation Acct, it must be opened for 120 days before you can benefit from the $20 gift card bonus!!!

But I must say, it is THE way to put the gift cards you buy to work. Used it to pay for our entire last trip and have started using again for our next trip at Thanksgiving this year!!!!

Yes, I figured out that I won't qualify for the extra $20 per $1000 since my final payment date is less than the 120 days out. I'm just happy to know that I can put all the gift cards in one central place and save some money by using discounted gift cards. I will know to start saving early for the next vacation.

It's been a bit since I've read all the fine print on the DVA, but I also think that there is a maximum amount of GC you get as bonus. It seems like it was $500, which would be having $25,000 in the account. I never spend that much on vacation, so wasn't too worried about it.

Just wanted to add - you will qualify for the $20 bonus card(s) for every $1000 funded however you won't be able to request the bonus card(s) until 120 days. As you said you can use for the next vacation :)

Hi everyone,

Found this site about a week ago when looking for any deals on annual passes. I noticed that the common site people use on here is Raise. I set up an alert on there for anything 7% or over. I have clicked many alert emails the second I got them and the cards won't be available, presumably because someone already got them. Is there a method to getting these other than randomly refreshing the site? Thanks.
Same here...the instant I get an alert I click "buy now". Cards are never there; just ones with a lower % off. Is there a trick to this???

Does anyone know if Target limits how many Disney Gift cards you can buy in store with your debit at one time? I'd I'd like to grab 1000.00 worth. They only offer 50.00 ones at my store. Will the Target police stop me? LOL!

There's no way to tell how much your limit will allow you to buy. They can't even tell you what the limit is or should I say they won't tell you. It based on a formula, taking into account your spending habits, how long you've had your account, and whether the Target gods are smiling on you. I've bought $1500 worth one time and it went through. Tried another time to do $2000 and it was declined. Best advice is to try and see how much you can buy.

After making several purchases they will continue to increase the amount you are allowed to purchase. I have purchased up to $2400 without an issue. I have made lots of purchases with the card for large amounts and have had my card for about 3 years or so.

I got my card in June, then tried in July to purchase $500 in cards and they wouldn't let me. But, I could purchase $300, drive to the next city (about 60 miles down the interstate) and buy the other $200.

I've never tried to buy more than $500 at a time since then, and it's worked for me.
