Disney Gift Card Deals

I just changed my home store back to my actual home store and the 4x coupon is still there. Fingers crossed it works.

I haven't stepped foot into a GS since they killed churning for eBay GCs so I can't speak to recent policy.

But why don't you sign up for Netflix through iTunes, then pay for your subscription using iTunes gift cards purchased at a discount? iTunes gift cards go on sale much more frequently than Netflix gift cards, and at better discounts. PPDG and Costco seems to have sales on iTunes gift cards at 15% off once or twice a month, and iTunes cards occasionally sell for 20% off, and up to 25% off on Black Friday and around the holidays. I don't know how 15-25% off compares to 5x points, but it's a nice upfront discount. I follow http://www.twitter.com/itunescarddeals, who posts iTunes gift card deals.

P.S. It shouldn't matter if you don't have an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, since iTunes is available on Mac and PC.

Ooh thats a route I hadn't considered. We don't have any Apple products at all so I never pay attention to iTunes cards. I will have to look into this. I love this thread. So many deals I would have never thought or known about.

Thanks!

I just came from Kroger. It looks like the set amount visa cards are excluded. Does anyone kniw for sure? I may try it tomorrow to see if no one knows.

I may be mistaken... It appears you can "manage" your subscriptions, like Netflix, through iTunes on Mac/PC, but you would need the Netflix app on an iOS device, like an iPod/iPhone/iPad/Apple TV to "add" the actual subscription.

The process goes something like this: Log in to the Netflix website and cancel your subscription. Netflix will tell you that your account will continue to be available as usual until the next billing date. After that date, access Netflix through its app on an iOS device using your account email and password, and you should be able to restore your account and all your movies/shows/preferences, and thereafter be billed through iTunes. You can load iTunes gift cards through the "Redeem" link on the iTunes desktop app. Just make sure there's always enough credit in account and you won't be charged on your credit card again.

If you have access to an iOS device that has or that can download the Netflix app, it might be worth the hassle to set up a subscription.

Because I am so technically challenged, I am going to ask a probably dumb question...I stream Netflix through a Roku. Can you still do that if you subscribe through itunes? Or do you have to watch it on a tablet or appletv?

Thanks for sharing about this, Lain. Seems like a good way to save some on Netflix. We also have Hulu and Sling if you have any ways to save on those, I am interested :)

I don't have Roku, but I believe the answer is yes -- you should be able to stream Netflix subscribed through iTunes on Roku. You are still subscribing to Netflix, just as an in-app subscription through Netflix's iOS app that is billed through iTunes. I currently have Netflix's 2 Screens package on my iTunes account and am able to access it through my Playstation 4, Apple TV, iPhones, iPads, and through a web browser on any Mac or PC. Since Netflix streaming is available on my Playstation 4 (a non-Apple device) and web browser, I assume it's not locked to Apple devices.

I don't use Hulu, but I know Hulu also has an app available on iOS and, I believe, offers in-app subscriptions that should work like Netflix with billing through iTunes: https://help.hulu.com/articles/21454771.

They've worked in the past???

Yes. Last time they had 4X fuel, I bought the $100 visa cards and then used them a couple days later to buy gift cards and got the 4X fuel on those too. I'm not sure the 4X includes the prepaid set amount visas this time. The wording was a bit confusing as it said the variable load visa was excluded but this is a set amount so I'm not sure. I'll have to give it a try and find out.

Did you guys get your email from Amex thanking you for using the offer? I know they send them really quickly after the card was used and curious if this was true for this offer too.

Thank you!
Heather

The $25 statement credit already posted as of this morning. 500 kicks posted this evening. 125 Best Buy reward points are still pending.

That's what the wording always says.

Awesome sauce and thanks so much for updating me and everyone else :) I plan on going Sunday morning likely so I'll update as well.

Have a great weekend,
Heather

Just opened my Kroger ad for the week beginning 11/9 and it shows 4x fuel points from 11/11-11/13.
Where did you find the upcoming ad?
I didn't see the coupon for this weekend in my area but am wondering if next weekend it will be going. I've got some Visa gc I wanted to turn around and also wanted to buy more.
Also I did notice something awesome this last week - when we went to redeem the rewards the pump gave us the option of doing $2 off per gallon. That left us with like $.07 per gallon. Couldn't have been more delighted and am hoping this keeps going.

I receive the ad for the following week in the mail every Friday, so it wasn't online. It was at the bottom of page two.

Used my mystery discount at Best Buy yesterday. Just $5 of course. No luck here either! Combined it with a $5 member reward for $10 off a $25 Disney card.

Speaking of 25's, Still have KMart left from the eBay churning days and all my Kmart has right now in Disney cards are $25's. I'm getting really good at knowing precisely where to scratch off the back silver strip to get to the numbers. No need to scratch off the whole thing, just a little here and a little there...Skillz :dancer::rotfl2:

Don't know if your comment had anything to do with the BJ's/Amex promo but it is only valid for "in-club" purchases.
thanks for noting that! I didn't notice..... glad I didn't order anything with this one!

BTW.... I asked this over n the DL thread, but the 'experts' of gc usage are here so I'm asking twice.... if I book a dining event (must be prepaid) at DL using a dis gc, is that eve possible? How would a refund work if I canceled ? back to the gc?

I've never booked a dining event with a GC, but everything I've read from Disney about refunds state that the refund is always back to the original form of payment, so I would think yes, it goes back to that GC.

Do you have a DVA account? Sometimes it's easier to funnel everything through there so you don't have to keep track of individual GC #s in case of a refund.

Yes, you can!

I used a Disney gift card for the pre-payment on the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving Dinner. You just have to give the CM the 16-digit number on your gift card. I haven't had to cancel a dining event so I haven't received a refund for one, but the standard practice is to refund it back to the gift card. I have had to cancel a resort reservation that had a deposit paid for with a gift card, and the refund went back to the gift card.

So a few things to consider if there's a chance you'll need to cancel -- remember the gift card you used, and make sure there's enough room on that gift card to receive your refund amount (I don't know if a gift card can have more than $1000 on it, but I wouldn't want any problems if it can't).
