I was stuck with $1000 in gc's from Gamestop with nothing to buy there but eBay gc's to churn, right when they totally stopped allowing that. Ugh! I was gonna sell and take the loss But, with the help of awesome posters here, I didn't give up and with a little effort I ended up not losing anything and actually ended up with an extra $13. I was lucky, but also so glad I didn't just give up and accept I'd take a hit before trying to get it worked out!

Do you mind me asking what you ended up doing at Gamestop that worked? I'm in that same boat now.

I don't know if it has been mentioned on these blogs but there is an AMEX card that offers 6% off at grocery stores. We shop at a Kroger. Which also offers 4x fuel points at various points during the year. So we pay for the whole trip but for this example say you purchased 4k in gift cards at 6% off would give you $240 in cash back on the CC plus you would then be saving a dollar a fill up for 4 fill ups. Given we have 2 SUVs that is about $18 a fill up which we have to buy any how. That's an additional $72. So a total of ~$312 or about 7.8% saving on trip cost. Plus you can also buy southwest gift card if you fly on that airline.

Amex blue cash.

Yes! It's an awesome deal - until you max out the $6K like I just did

I just got something in the mail from target saying starting in September free shipping with red card won't always be free if you need special handling. Wonder if that includes when they bubble wrap $0.99 markers???

Yes you can, at least I could this past spring. I think I am going to try it again in the next week or two, as our trip is approaching and other methods are gone or maxed out.

Ebates/Petco gcs 8%+A/E $10/$50 cashback on 2 A/E accounts. Tip: Wait for 1st to post.
Ebates/Macys gc 6%+A/E $20/$100 cashback. Didn't get Ebates.

Today at Riteaid, Bought 2 $50 Bed,Bath&Beyond gcs($10 Plenti pts), 2 $25 American Eagle gcs($16),
Used $3off $15 coupon + last weeks $16 plenti pts redemption for Coke & Tide. Total was $147. I was surprised that it worked because you can't use Plenti pts on gcs. Maybe it was because of coupon.

Yikes! You're right! I tried a private seller too thinking it might just be the authorized gift card sellers and it's not working. Now what?...

Wow, you are really right about that, Wendow! OMG!! I'm just really screwed now! Yikes! We had accumulated $2500 we had built using to churn between my and DD26's accounts. Then not too long after, Target left GCM, and then all the changes this summer. Then GS route was thwarted, but I was able to get my GS cards converted to BB. And then unfortunately I immediately converted to ebay to be ready for when I would be able to churn next. Then, they did the whole limiting of how many gc's could be used to make purchases. So, I've been sitting on $2300 in ebay gc's, waiting to be able to do some churning finally after this coming Sunday. I still have $225 in BB that I never converted yet, thankfully.

Now what? Ugh! I don't buy that much at ebay, other than small things generally. I don't need any big items. Of all the changes, this one is really most upsetting.

Hmm, sitting here with an upset stomach now, Thinking what to do. Maybe something thru BB somehow. Not something to do often, but to get out of this it might work. Or try to sell the cards via somewhere like Raise. Or buy something to resell on ebay.

Obviously I'll probably take a hit here. This really sucks! I have to say I'm pretty shocked by this. I thought I was pretty safe with ebay cards as I could at least buy gc's from private sellers. Takes away the biggest part of churning for me. Ugh! Sorry to be complaining so much. I'm sure I'll figure out something eventually but this really stinks!

Oh, so sorry to hear that! How much do you still have? I hope you don't have the $1000 in GS gc's that I had! I was considering taking about a 15% hit by either selling the cards thru Raise(or the like), or Ebay, or selling the cards to Ebaycardcash where I would have gotten $858 for $1000 in eBay egift cards(they were giving like $85.80 per $100 GS card). That seemed easiest at the time and about what I figured I'd get if I sold the cards and paid the fees they charge for selling.

Then, the poster Jkalai posted some very timely info! Timing couldn't have been more perfect, this all wouldn't have worked with on another week. He had earlier in the week suggested I could buy GS games and then do
trade-ins, but I wasn't sure how that would work at all and seemed like a lot of work. But then, that Sunday he posted info on games they had for a great sale, like $17.49 - maybe $26, most pre-owned at GS. That was like less than half normal price, I saw those titles the next week at like $49.99 and $52.99! The key is that it happened to coincide with a deal Best Buy had that week of buying trade-ins of certain titles at $25. He shared the BB link to the titles of the games that would work. So I used my GS gc's to buy the titles at GS, most were pre-owned, though a couple new titles also had sale prices of about $20 - $25. I also used a GS power up rewards card that gave a 10% extra off, and then traded in and got BB gc's. So, between buying some games at $17.49 and more at the $20 - $25 sale price, I basically came out just over even, not losing a penny! I bought 3 titles of various games per Playstation 4 and Xbox. BB only allows three trade-ins of each title per game console, per year, per person, and they definitely keep track! Somehow it worked out with me trading in, along with my DD26 and her DF, and we got it all done. It all took a week, used 3 different GS's that were pretty close. Had to finish in that week as the timing of the sales and the BB deal was only that week. I just couldn't believe the great luck I had as any other timing and it never would have worked out so well for me.

It's still something that could work if you could watch GS prices and find what trade-ins might work. Maybe they do other things like this at other times, I don't really know. Good luck, I hope you get your GS cards converted somehow!

Well, I guess that's the end of GC churning. It was great while it lasted.

It makes the rest of my decisions easier, although I still have a small balance in GCs and ebay bucks that I'm not quite sure what to do with now, but only a couple hundred. I'm sure I can burn through that easy enough when the time comes.

Ugh, me too! I just converted $200 to eBay at Best Buy on Sunday. I wonder if Best Buy would let me exchange them for Disney gift cards since I am within the 14 day return period and I haven't scratched off the back.....
