Disney Gift Card Deals

Well. That's the nail in my coffin.

I just changed over my $100 BB to eBay from that coupon this last weekend. Got my Walgreens in the mail today and WHEW I'm glad I read this over morning coffee. Being stuck with $100 in eBay could be worse but I'm definitely bummed I didn't go the lazy route yesterday and stay home!!!! I can definitely just use this $100 on general or Xmas purchases.

I wonder if we can redeem ebucks still for GCs?
If you can still buy gc with ebucks then it's still a viable portal for small savings on like a 10% promo plus ebates for 1% if I'm maxed out on fuel points and raise is lower than 10%.

All I've got left at this point is fuel rewards and coupon purchases which I would still use on eBay like the $15 off $75 as that netted me 30% off. Where do you find those codes?

Waking up to read the eBay gift card news. I'm sitting on over $600 in gcs from eBay. I was waiting for an offer this week to get cashed out for our Oct trip. I'm literally sick to my stomach. Anyone have a good solution to cash out of this mess? I don't really shop eBay and it would take me forever to spend these cards - Plus, I'd really like the money for my trip in October.

I'm in essentially the same boat. Only our trip is January. :(

You could sell your gift cards on a gift card exchange site. Expect to lose 15-20% this way.

You could sell your gift cards on eBay. Expect to lose at least 13% this way.

There are a couple more less ethical options as well where you would lose much less, but I won't go into them here. If you read back through the thread, you will find them eventually.

Sad, sad, sad day...

This definitely kills the "churning" part of eBay that so many of us had relied on. Just checked my stash and luckily I only have $262.00 in eBay gift cards. I'll bide my time until I can figure out what I want to do with those. Luckily, it was free money to me and not vacation money.

I'm guessing eBay bucks will still be allowed to buy gift cards as there are not near the restrictions on those as gift cards. I am sitting on nearly 350.00 of those. If that is the case, one can still save money, by directly purchasing gift cards during an eBay promo. Buying 200.00 of best buy gift cards during a 5x promo will give you 10% plus whatever your credit card allows. I will probably do this on gift cards that are already discounted or when I know I'm going to be making a large purchase (ie new fridge at Lowe's).

Sure do wish there was a way to get confirmation on using eBay bucks on gift cards. That would be really helpful. Glad I'm only sitting on $100 in eBay gift cards.

Ugh! Woke up hoping for an eBay bucks promo and find this! I converted our $300 Walgreens to eBay on Saturday. If only SVM didn't ship so quickly. I can use Walgreens easily, but eBay not so much. Fortunately the $300 was our Ebates money that we were using to churn on a small scale and not our vacation money. I'll be scouring eBay looking for something we need or maybe something I can sell.

I ....can't...breathe....:sad::sad::sad:

First, I get up this morning to pay the bills and update the checkbook with the auto-pays since DH got paid today....then I see a ton of OVERDRAFTS in my checking account:scared1::scared1:...his paycheck direct deposit hasn't gone through yet! It's not even showing as pending...it's just gone! So while he is at work, frantically looking into this, I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to do:confused3:confused3. I have more automatic payments scheduled to come out today (over $300 worth!) and I can't stop them at this point. I also have no way to get money IN to the account since the overdrafts (and fees) have already emptied our overdraft account. On top of that, I don't know how much I will owe in NSF fees and late fees for the bills that are still pending.

Then, I log in over on the DIS, looking for an eBucks promo or some ray of sunshine..and I find THIS. I have $310 tied up in eBay funds. This was my worst-case scenario...getting stuck with eBay. Fortunately, I cashed out some of my BB and Walgreen's for Disney already, but I only needed $400 more in Disney funds to cover the Disney-portion of our HHI trip...and that's what I was sitting on between eBucks and gift cards:sad1:...I was SO close.

I guess today will be a day to really focus on what's important...the roof over my head, a healthy family, and food to eat:).

I'm so glad someone posted this. I was just about to turn $600 in Walgreens gc to Ebay. I still have $150 in Ebay cards but I won't have a hard time spending that.

I'm so sorry your day has started off this way. I do love the way you've put it into perspective though. I need to remember to do this when I'm having a bad day. Hopefully everything will get worked out with your DH's check and they will take care of all of the overdrafts since it was their timing that messed it all up in the beginning. I do payroll at our company and I know we would take care of any issues that an error that we made caused.

So, I'm reading that Ebay GCs can no longer be used to purchase third party GCs.

I have not tested myself, not sure what to do now.

ETA: Appears to be true. Just tried to purchase a BB GC and received error: This code can't be applied to some of your items.

Thank you for posting this. I have $600 in Walgreens gc's and was debating if I should cash out for our November trip or convert to eBay and wait for one more 4x or 5x ebucks deal. Guess I'll be getting my Disney gift cards!

Ughhhh, I have $525 in Ebay I just got at Best Buy on SUnday. The gift card resell site will take them for $105 less than what they are worth, boo.

I've had that happen before too. It really is terribly frustrating

What a turn of events overnight! Thankfully I only have $38 on eBay GC.

@kristenrice i am so sorry! Hopefully it will get straighten out. I don't do automatic drafts unless things are billed to our credit card. We had our mortgage drafted twice once and that was the end of that for us.

Alrighty....I can breathe again...but I'm still sad:sad1:.

The bank got everything figured out and I am only out a single, $7 overdraft fee. All of the other auto-payments were approved so we are all set with that. I can deal with the $7 fee because it was probably my fault since I missed entering a payment that was scheduled for yesterday.

I asked DH if there was anything he wanted or needed from eBay since we are now the proud owners of $300 in eBay gift cards. He told me to get the Apple Watch that I've been wanting but couldn't justify spending money on. Awww...that made my day:love:. I found it at the Best Buy store on eBay for $272 which would still leave me with a little leftover to buy a new case for my iPad:flower3:. As soon as I put it in my cart, it dawned on me...I need to wait for a 5x eBucks promo:crazy:. There's no sense in making a $300 purchase with "free" money and only earning $6 on it when there is potential for $30. If the watch becomes unavailable, then we will look for something else. We've wanted to start doing more tent camping and we could use some equipment. I'm sure we could find plenty of things to buy with $300. There's also the Dooney & Bourke bags that I've always wanted...Bose headphones...the list could go on...but I keep pulling myself back into looking for stuff we NEED, rather than just stuff I want.

I guess it's back to saving 5% at Target and using my BB rewards towards Disney gift cards again. I have to go back to the days when saving 10% was HUGE and say goodbye to the 50-70% savings I had been enjoying:wave:.

Glad that you got your banking worked out! I was thinking about an apple watch too, but am going to wait for an ebucks promo or just for the dust to settle incase some other idea pops up.

That's good news!! I can just imagine how sick you were this morning!

We will be getting DH a new laptop for college with the Ebay gift cards and then just taking the money we were going to use for that in September to replace the $500. I am not losing $105 to a gift card resell site!. That's just too much.

I am assuming Ebucks will be no good for gift card purchases so now I need to figure out what we will get with those!

I'm so relieved you got it worked out. What a stressful start to your day.

Good point about waiting for a promo before spending. I've been searching for things that I need that are close in price to what I'd normally pay for them and adding them to my watch list do I'm ready to pounce if an offer comes through.
