Disney Gift Card Deals

Has anyone used coinstar to get egiftcards? Which egiftcard would be the best to get? BB? GS? Sears? I would just go ahead and get Southwest, but I've already paid for our flight in full. Do any of these egiftcards work to get Disney GCs or Walmart/Sam's to get the discounted Disney GCs?

I have had 2 successful coinstar to Best Buy to Disney GC transactions. I need to pick up another one tonight.

There's not really a discount but we have a gallon container of change so I take $25 to $27 in and get a egift card. Then I order the gift card and a small item (a pack of batteries) online for store pickup. Both times so far I've had no issues!

I order through Mypoints.com (I'm sure ebates is better but I'm close to a $50 gift card on Mypoints) and 113 points are pending for each purchase.

I've been only doing $25 a time because I don't want to get stuck with $50 to Best Buy and not able to get a gift card. Good luck!

If we're only doing it when there is a promo (which hasn't been too often lately), I just don't see how this would raise a lot of eyebrows. I am aware of all the risks so I am really hesistant to try...but then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Keep in mind, the GC that broke the final "straw" at PayPal (for me) was one $50 Claim Jumper card that I was trying to purchase with a credit card. I did not run a lot of money through PPDG, though PayPal tried to tell me it was HUGE!

Here is my transaction history for gift card churning, and I am permanently banned from PayPal (for life):
3/31 purchased $100 Target GC (GCM) with eBay GC
4/20 purchased 5 $100 Target GC (GCM) with eBay GC
4/21 purchased 2 $100 Target GC (GCM) with eBay GC
4/28 purchasesd 2 $100 eBay GC (PPDG) with credit card ($95 each)
5/2 purchased 2 $100 Target GC (GCM) with eBay GC
5/23 purchased 1 $100 Lowes GC (GCM) with eBay GC
5/23 purchased 2 $100 Best Buy GC (PPDG) with eBay GC
5/23 purchased 6 $100 Best Buy GC (PPDG) with eBay GC
6/8 purchased 2 $100 Best Buy GC (PPDG) with eBay GC

I had other, regular merchandise purchases from eBay and other places mixed in there as well.

This was not what I considered HIGH VOLUME, but PayPal disagreed. They accused me of first being a thief and second of being a money launderer. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I'm just trying to give you a clearer picture of my history so that you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

That's just crazy considering there are a lot more people out there who have ran a lot more through. That's what they told my mom about her $750 GCM purchases when she was trying to get a lockout cleared up in March (though she did not get banned thank goodness). She talked to a few people and one of the ladies went on about how $750 is so much money to be spending on GCs at Target. Heck, if we're buying groceries there, then we spend more than $750 a month just on that. Let alone household supplies, clothes, 6 rounds of birthday gifts, etc.

Anyway, I went a head and used the rest of my eBay GCs on 3 x $100 Exxon/Mobil, even though the closest one to us is 2 hrs away. It seems like there are quite a few stations through TN, GA and FL, so we should be able to use them on our trip. Hopefully we'll use the whole thing, as we took $300 in BP/Shell for our May trip and still had a bit left when we got home.

I think I'm gonna steer clear of PPDG with my ebucks unless they run an ebucks promo during July. Then I might take a chance just so I can run them through twice (once PPDG and once third party). Of course then there will be no guarantee that I'll be able to get them in Disney cards without paying a hefty upcharge :sad2:

I appreciate you sharing your transaction history. It really doesn't seem to me that you were doing anything I would consider high volume. In the past 8 months I know I've done way more than that through GCM and a maybe twice what you did with PPDG. I use my PayPal account for a lot more than churning, so to me it's not worth the risk of a lifetime ban, especially since none of us knows what PayPal's secret algorithm is for deciding who's doing too much.

I think I found the seller you used. The auction I found showed a card selling for $19 more than actual value. Did you have to pay that for each card, or did he reduce the price since you bought in bulk?

It was the same price. A flat 3.75 % added to the amount.

I agree. I have been running $1k-$1.2k through ebay every promo through physical Gamestop GC. I haven't been locked out of Paypal and no verification email/codes here. It's definitely a PPDG problem. Not planning on running another penny through PPDG.

I did Best Buy through PPDG a few times. First time I did it for $300 total. I had to verify by text a couple of times, but it went through. I paid for that with credit card. The next time, I did $200, paid with Ebay GC and it went through with no verification whatsoever. So I tried my luck and did another $200 with Ebay GC. Had to verify by text a couple of times, but went through fine after that.

I still have that $400 in Best Buy cards, was trying to decide if I should just cash out to Disney or stick with Ebay for a bit. The only way I'm sticking with churning through Ebay at this point is physical Gamestop, with the eventual goal of buying Disney cards from individual sellers on Ebay. I don't have that much tied up across the board at this point ($75 gamestop in transit, $16 Ebay, and that $400 Best Buy). Maybe I'll just keep that going through Ebay/gamestop physical cards. Doesn't give as much potential to increase funds, but I'm afraid to add more and end up with Gamestop. I know my fiance would eventually use them, but I'm hesitant to add to that pot for now.

I'm definitely scared of getting permanently banned from Paypal, and I'm not willing to risk it. Even if I paid with credit card, it sounds like they review all of your transactions if you get stuck, so that makes me very nervous. Seems like all the avenues are drying up.

There is a GameStop in the same parking lot of the restaurant we are going to this evening. I'm planning on popping in there to see what I can do with my $600 in physical GS GCs. If I figure out a good way to get from GS to Disney, I'll let you know. I know there are a ton of things I can do with them, but I REALLY wanted this money for our October trip.

I have been working on cashing out to Disney by going through BB. I still have $400 in eBay gc to cash out. I've never had to verify when ordering through PPDG but don't want banned. Any recommendations on the best way to still get these to Disney? GS isn't an option because I just want to cash out to Disney & not get eBay gc.

Same here...

I'm about to leave for my weekly plasma donation and BB is right next door. I have a $50 BB GC and I was thinking about converting it to eBay...

I am aware of all the risks so I am really hesistant to try...but then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I decided to buy the ebay gift card from BB. I remembered to tell the cashier that did not want to bother with giving my BB Rewards # because I knew my purchase wasn't eligible for points. I also opted for the paper receipt only (no e-mail) so they have no way to track the purchase to me. I'm not that concerned, but I'd rather minimize a paper trail if I can without too much difficulty.

When I got home, I went through eBates, logged in to eBay, activated my Bonus eBucks offer and bought a $50 BB gift card from PPDG. The transaction went through without a hitch. Smoothest one I have ever done! I hope this has not lulled me into a false sense of security. I will bring my BB gift card with me to work tomorrow (0500-1700) and then if I get a chance to get in to a BB, I will get another eBay card. On Thursday, I will try my luck again with PPDG and see if I can get one more purchase in before the bonus promo ends.

Over the past couple of weeks I converted $300 in Ebay GC to Target then Disney GC by purchasing from individual sellers, all with 100% feedback. This can be a bit time consuming and a bit more risky since they're bought from individuals, but it's worked out well for me recently and in the past when purchasing Disney GC directly from individuals on eBay. Best of luck!

Today I found someone who sold their Disney Redemption card for close to what it was worth. Someone else mentioned buying cards from an ebay seller who adds 3.75%, basically as a service fee.
You could try Sears/Kmart from either Cardency or SVM, although SVM wouldn't accept my ebay cards today.
Someone suggested Walgreens, but that is through SVM, and that is not tried and true.
And Sams/Walmart is another route, but you would have to go through a private seller. Of course, all of the cards above can be bought through private sellers.

Another alternative is to sell your Ebay cards to Raise, Cardpool or Gift card Granny and take a small loss, and then use the proceeds for a target card, which you use to get a Disney card.

I have $200.00 in eBay cards, and I have the 6% promo in play, but it looks like GCM is out of stock on GS cards and still doesn't carry Target. What are you all churning?

Count me in as another buying from private sellers. I've bought Target and Disney cards. Only had a problem with one card for $300 that was "supposedly" misplaced. I was a bit annoyed since I would've been done but I was refunded promptly. I have about $33 left in EBay. Waiting for July 3 to combine with my Ebucks to finally be done. My last 2 cards were shipped today from the sellers so I should have them next week if not by Saturday. I am relieved to be out but sad my churning days are over. Just remember to look closely at ratings!

FYI I got my permanent ban from pp reversed after an hour on the phone with a supervisor after my appeal was denied. I'll explain more later (typing on phone) but bottom line is that pp considers eBay gc to any gc purchases to be potentially fraudulent behavior. Th big plus is I can use my remaining eBay gc on any non-gc and I can potentially use my eBay bucks. He did say I could use my eBay bucks on gc, but that there would be no more reversals.

I am VERY happy for you. Thank you for letting us know which way the wind is blowing

Fantastic news!

Then why do they allow it???

But the main reason I'm replying is I just tried to buy a Walgreens card from SVM with an ebay card and it wouldn't let me. I got this response: "We can't apply this code to your order." I tried 2 different cards, and then I verified that they still have money on them on the ebay balance page. I don't know if the problem is with PP, Ebay or SVM
It's PayPal. They're the anti-churn. I've had this happen recently and switched PayPal accounts and sale goes through. I think they have tweaked their algorithm and are targeting gc-gc transactions.

EXACTLY.
I mean I get it - a company can interpret their policies as they see fit. This process is questionable. There may not be an outline but Churning effectively through eBay especially is making money off a transaction. If someone invests $500 and comes off with $3k from a retailer - that's a company loss. They exchange revenue from the transactions but once a churner cashes out that initial revenue plus their gains in the form of rewards and discounts to something like a 3rd party (Disney in this case), the retailer just took a loss in the profit margin. There isn't grounds for prosecution per se but they can still call it fraud and ban you for their own protection.
But what it comes down to for me - if you're gonna call it fraud why do you allow it? The security algorithm is good enough to detect the purchases but the company wizards can't alter software to block the sale? That's my problem - saying yes then acting like you're the next American Gangster.

I just got back from GameStop. Apparently they have discontinued sales of Amazon gift cards. The clerk went and took them off the rack after he tried to ring them up. They are no longer in their system. I did get $50 worth of Fandango so that we can go find Dory. I still have to figure out what to do with the other $550. Time for more research.
