Disney Gift Card at Meijer get $5 off next shopping trip

I just got back. I had $200 to spend on gift cards. So I took up 8 of the $25. Had a few other things in the cart. Fortunately I had a patient cashier! I bought 7 of them with no problem, got my $5 off shopping coupons. Then the last one, I tossed in some of my merchandise, and gave a coupon. DUH! You can't do that and still expect to get another coupon! Oh well, live and learn. Still got a great deal though! I have some more to buy. and while having so many $25 gift cards may seem like a pain, I'll take the free money any day! The CM at the contemporary is probably going to hate me when I use them all to pay for my room!

I just read on another post that you can only use 4 cards per transaction. It was confirmed by a past worker at Disney. I am trying to check into this myself as I thinking of getting cards for the same reason. I want to know before I have too many cards....:scared1::confused:

Not sure what you are talking about here......are you talking about only using 4 cards per transaction with Disney? Not true, used atleast 12 $25 to pay for my room only a couple days ago. If you are talking about buying 4 cards per transaction at meijers, why would you do this? You can get $5 off each $25 gift card. They will only print out one $5 coupon per transaction, regardless of how much you load onto the gift cards.

On the other thread someone said that they wanted to save up giftcards to purchase park tickets at the Disney Store and the cashier there told them only 4 gc's per transaction.

That might be the case at the Disney store but definately not the case with the Reservations department or at the resort. I guess I missed the post where someone mentioned the Disney Store. :confused3

well then they can just bring them to the parks and use them to buy tickets there I guess.

But you can definitely pay down your room or dining or charged balance at WDW with as many cards as it takes.

I tried to buy my daughters ticket at guest services at Epcot in July with gift cards and was told I could only use 2 separate forms of payment. Since my gift cards were not high value, I had to use 1 gift card and cash for the balance. I dont know if that is true everywhere, but I am going again next week and not taking any chances this time.

Can you combine them all into one card once you get to one of the parks? Or can you put them on your room for payment?

planning on doing this saturday then calling disney and paying off 550 of our trip and getting a TON of free groceries...even if i have to buy them $5 at a time :) lol my store can be silly like that some times and only let us use 1 oyno coupon at a time...total pain for everyone around me cashier myself and people that choose to be behind me when i say i am going to be a moment or two :) lol

OH BY THE WAY did you happen to use your disney visa when purchasing this when the Slip popped out of the machine as an advertisement? just wondering, cause it was my first time ever using my disney card and it popped out and was like WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

8 down, 4 to go! Although I am thinking about going with $400 but I can't decide. I think I might do it. We'll see.

I got $300 worth yesterday in the self-checkout line when they weren't busy at all. Stood there long enough doing my gift cards, that a cashier walked over to watch me. She really kept an eye on me and eventually went over to talk to the greeter at the door and point in my direction. Really thought I was going to be asked to stop.

Came straight home and called WDW and applied each one to my WL ressies. The lady from WDW seemed a little flabbergasted and wanted to know if the store didn't have higher increments :rotfl:

Now on to visiting Meijer non-stop to use all my $5 coupons. They've already got an eye on me, so I'm only using two per visit. Luckily I pass Meijer almost daily.

Not sure where in Indiana you are, but I was able to use a bunch in a day (but breaking it into different transactions) at the Lafayette and Greenwood Meijers. The Southport store was the only one that cared about the limit one per day fine print. HTH!

I'm glad I saw this thread! I'm going to make a Meijer run today and see how it works out. First stop though...dd's cheer gym to buy my Meijer's scrips card. ;) And thanks for the Kroger post about Disney gift cards...we get 5% back on Kroger but only 2 on WDW...I'll buy Kroger gift cards through scrips and then use that for my WDW.

Also thanks to the poster for the HP Wal-Mart $10 card - I need ink!

You guys are great!

I bought $350 worth on Sunday. We are staying off property and I was going to use these for our ADRs and counterservice. I called the Disney Store and they said I couldn't combine them into one card, but will I be able to use more than 2 on each meal? There is 6 of us so our meals will be pretty expensive. I'm going back today to get more but I'm wondering if I should buy higher increments

I used 7 last night at Southport no issues. I just went to a cashier to speed it up since it requires the cashier to enter it at a u-scan.

Notebooks are down to .10 each so I got 50 of those to use up 1 coupon.

I bet it depends on the cashier... yesterday in Greenwood I picked a young guy because I thought he looked least likely to question my coupons. ;)

I'm up north of Indianapolis. I went through one cashier's line and broke it into two orders around $5. She was fine with it. I can tell you the cashier who was watching me on u-scan would no way have let me go through with a lot. She looked a little cranky!!!

I so wish I could buy lots of the gift cards, but with an impending car repair, I dare not. I did however use my $5 coupon today, the cashier forgot to ring the coupon, so she gave me the $5 in cash. I am putting that back for my tip envelopes. Still saved me the $5 and that is all I care about, got another $5 coupon because I went ahead and bought another gift card. I have until the 24th to use that coupon, but I am thinking I just may make another run to the Meijer and get two more gift cards after I check the balance on my bank acct.

Help me out...I went to Meijer today and got 3 cards doing 3 transactions and got 3 of the $5 off coupons. When I go back to get another card, can I use a $5 off coupon and if so will it print out a new coupon for me? I thought someone said a new coupon wouldn't print but want to be sure.

Thanks! :goodvibes
