Disney - get control of these groups of teens that CHEER and YELL their way through the parks!

Watched a few of the videos in this thread. Didn't take notice to the races of the loud groups but it looks to me like 98% of the noisy people are females

Disney should make more efforts (especially if the groups are staying on property) to communicate with the guides about appropriate behavior. No chanting in indoor or enclosed spaces...

My feeling exactly.

Kids will be kids and many teens are going to be obnoxious. These loud locomotives of teens barreling down the streets of the theme parks are not acceptable.
It is up to the adult chaperones to have some semblance of control and for Disney to set the expectations a bit higher than "just turn around and head in another direction" or "it's not so bad unless you're in an enclosed space." Not good enough!

The tour groups generate a lot of revenue and therefore will never go away or face any sanctions.

Edit: In any event, I'm sure we can discuss annoying people we've encountered without identifying them by race as though that has something to do with their behavior.

Brazilian is not a notation of race, but of nationality. There is a huge difference.

I find screaming children offensive. Should Disney address them as well. . . .

You know, just about every time my daughter and I go shopping, we see some kids running at top speed where they shouldn't be running. It's gotten to be a "running joke", no pun intended. I'll say, "I love running children," and my daughter (13) will just laugh. Saw it at Target today - running at top speed through the store. Parents doing nothing.

Also, on our last trip to Disney World, the only annoying group we saw was a group of American kids who were (apparently) there for some school band function. They were obnoxious, and there were only like 10 of them.

I don't doubt that some of the foreign tour groups are tough to take, but obnoxious really knows no boundaries.

What I find interesting, is that they seem to have no concept that other people around them are not behaving this way. Does a light bulb not go off for them? Forget the language barrier, forget the cultural difference, they can CLEARLY see no one else is acting this way, therefore they are doing this out of disrespect to every other guest at DW. Its not just about us Americans, you don't see Japanese, Chinese, African, Irish, NO other nationality of people is doing this.

They KNOW what they are doing but they don't care.

Heres what you do.

You either speak with your dollars and stop visiting Disney, or you make sure to follow up with a lawsuit against Disney when you trip over the feet/bags of one of these groups sitting out in the street where they're not supposed to be. When Disney gets a doctor bill, they'll wake up and go "oh. hey. We might need to look at this."

I live in the UK so I am not used to the strange behaviour of the South Americans.

It's weird as Americans are as a whole the nicest, friendliest and helpful people you will meet yet over the border it changes to people who have no understanding of manners or even worry about what they say or do in public.

Today I was at Universal at the Barney show and went to the restrooms with my 2 year old daughter. There is one with a tiny toilet for the kids and next to it a regular sized one. The adult was using the tiny one and the youngster using the other.

I cannot describe the mess all over the toilet when the adult opened the door and my little one couldn't believe it either. He just carried on talking as loud as possible without a care in the world while the child was throwing used toilet paper on the floor of his cubicle. It was a bizarre experience but they didn't bat an eyelid.

I can say that this type of behavior is not exclusive to Disneyworld and not exclusive to tour groups from South American countries. I have stayed at different touristy resorts around the world and have seen more than my share of groups of obnoxious, loud, United States citizens, falling down drunk at hotels at 3 in the morning, singing, yelling, etc.

It does give a bad impression of that country to whomever is watching that type of behavior, regardless of where they are from. And people in from the U.S. are just as bad, if not worse than a lot of other countries.

When I worked at MK, these groups came through all the time. More so in summer of course, but yeah were generally very disruptive and there wasn't a whole lot any particular cast member could do. =/

99 % of the South American Tour Groups are girls celebrating their 15th Birthday.

They are NOT all Brazilian-there is an almost equal number of girls from Argentina as well as smaller numbers from many other South American countries.

There are CM with the green shirt called Brazilian International Super Greeters. I'm sure they will step in if they see unsafe behavior.

The Super Greeters have helped a great deal and are really fun to talk to about their Country,BUT the Argentina girls resent them and basically ignore anything the Super Greeters may tell them to do.

Groups of loud and rowdy kids are completely annoying. If they can't be at Disney World--where can they be? It's a theme park for goodness sake. They pay money and Disney will not shut it down. An agent told me that the cheaper hotels (Pop/All Sports, etc.) are very loud. Lots of kids, lots of tour groups and sports teams. Plenty of screaming. I avoid that like the plague.

I've never experienced the South American Tour Groups and am always kind of amused or confused--not sure which, at how much anger and emotion they create. Maybe I'm not paying close enough attention. I've seen lots of groups of kids just get loud and crazy. And they pass and they're gone. I don't linger, they don't linger. Maybe pure luck but I have never been in line with a large group of singing kids.

I usually get stuck around Mr & Mrs Worst Parents In The World.

Yeah but those people have an (even if inexcusable) reason. They are drunk. That is WHY they are acting out. We're talking about non drinking, groups of people who have no real reason to act this way, especially in another country.

The reason why someone is being loud and obnoxious is irrelevant to the fact that they are doing it. Someone may be overally excited, influenced by peer pressure, or drunk but the end result is the same. There is always some reason.

I watched as adult group leaders led their groups in this stupid yelling. It is the most RUDE, obnoxious, disruptive occurrence I have ever noticed in the parks. These groups need to get the (actual) memo that this is disruptive to other guests and will not be tolerated unless they're competing in sports at Wide World of Sports! And Cast Members need to be given the authority to tell them to stop immediately.
I've always heard about "Brazilian groups" but never understood what the problem was. I'll be writing to Disney but I'm sure many others have over the years and yet it still is going on

We had our first experience a few weeks ago with large tour groups.

It wasn't the noise or clapping, but the rude Tour Guides who seemingly stopped in the path of others.

Must all 50 people move about together?

I'm reminded of someone standing at the bottom/top of an escalator and not merely blocking others, but creating a hazard….in a group of 50.

The Tour Guides should be ashamed with the way they stand at the Exit to events and not walking far enough along to prevent their group(s) from blocking others.

What I also found to be a bit rude was when 50 young adults thought that waiting for a Meet-n-Greet was OK. I dunno, maybe letting some little children not have to wait an hour just seems to be common courtesy. Then again, witnessing the way some adults act blocking little children at Parades and such - this should not surprise me.

Country of origin has nothing to do with rude behavior.

I'm glad we've not run into the largest of these groups. My daughter wears a hearing aid and is sensitive to loud noises/yelling. Its already a challenge for her to understand the preshows,etc. Chanting/yelling like this would probably have her in tears. I second the poster who commented about the poor little kids being faced with this in close queue lines.

By some miracle, I have dodged these occurences, but I definitely can empathize with any of you that have suffered. I am so sorry. One of the biggest reasons I practice my best behavior and courtesies at WDW is because I am well aware of how much my fellow guests have likely invested into their vacation or visit because my cost was likely very similar. Most of us work hard for our money and deserve a fair shot at an amazing trip.
