Disney - get control of these groups of teens that CHEER and YELL their way through the parks!

Last year when I was in WDW in July it seemed like many of the large groups had been divided into smaller groups for most of their touring. Plus they had many more of the cast members in green shirts helping out. Are these things not happening this year? I was actually really happy with the changes I saw last year. The smaller groups still chanted a bit but most groups seemed more respectful of their surroundings.
Not this July.. We saw very large groups doing the clapping chanting singing bit. We just went the other way but it can get very annoying in a closed space.

As annoying as these groups are my biggest complaint comes there are two or three in line for a show and twenty more push ahead of me to 'join' their group.
While I didn't really mind the chanting and small intricacies of the groups, this did bother me. We were in line to pay for our CS and got behind a boy from a tour group (wearing shirt). He was the next person in line so the wait was next to nothing. He invited a half dozen of his friends to join him and honestly if he was paying for all of them then I would have been fine with it but each paid individually with their cards and one either didn't know how to use it or didn't have enough on it or something because the line got really held up. It was after that experience that my daughter got annoyed and started doing the avoid at all costs maneuvers when we saw the groups anywhere near us.

I think that everyone should be treated the same, no matter if you are in a tour group or not! The quote that we all paid the same to be at WDW is wrong, IMHO. I've read that the tour groups in S. America get fantastic offers with a lot of free stuff/ good rates, incentives, from WDW Co. No wonder they come here in droves. What cost us, American citizens, is more than likely way more than the tour groups have to pay. Disney created this monster and they should take care of it. No one has the "right" to be obnoxious, rude, and disregard others safety, no matter who they are or what they paid!!! I think Disney will correct this when someone gets hurt after reaching their limit of rude behavior and gets into a fight, or after someone gets seriously hurt after falling over the sitting tourists who block the walkways. Maybe then they will see the light. I hope so. In the meantime, I will not go to WDW when they are there, as I do not have patience for that kind of thing!

Been watching this for 12 days now. Most groups seem to be 40 or less. One group at ak did have 155. How do I know? I asked as they all got in the fp line at the same time and people were pissed. They annoy me with the chanting but what gets me is the rude behavior. I don't stand for that from anyone and several times we've seen them cut off others, make elderly people completely stop or move way over(this is my pet peeve) or try and hold a space in line.

We (my wife and son )walk right through them and don't get out of their way. My son and I have had to shoulder bump them on two occasions as we were walking. I know they are a big group but you don't need to walk 10 across and down the middle of the walk way. Another time we were in line for tot and a girl was squeezing our hand sanitizer on the floor. It hangs off my bag and the lid popped off. My wife grabbed her by the arm and said don't ever touch another persons stuff. I couldn't feel it otherwise she probably would have squeezed it all out.

It's become comical as we have seen two separate people imitate these groups. One guy found a long leaf (3') and held it in the air while strangers behind him started singing "Mickey mouse" Everyone started cracking up that saw this.

I don't understand the arguments about their right to have fun and that we need to just chill.
You should "chill" because you can only control your own response. You can not control the tour groups or dictate to them what you feel is appropriate behavior. You have two choices: (1) You can get all upset and indignant and hot under the collar about the tour groups and piss and moan to the CMs and your family and allow it to ruin your vacation. or (2) "Chill" about it and ignore them as best you can :duck:.

We just came from WDW July 11-16th and the tour groups were everywhere. IMO, they were simply a bunch of teen girls who were excited to be at WDW. Did they chant, clap and sing? Yes, some did. Did they sit down and spread out? Yes, some did. Did they fill the FP+ return line at Dinosaur. Yes, they did :scared:. My own teen daughter was on a trip to Baltimore with her swim team and maybe I saw her in the faces of there girls. Frankly, I thought they were pretty cute even when they were chanting and clapping *right next to me* in line for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. They are just kids having fun. FWIW, there were green shirt CMs everywhere so perhaps they are keeping things toned down a bit.

We had our first experience a few weeks ago with large tour groups.

It wasn't the noise or clapping, but the rude Tour Guides who seemingly stopped in the path of others.

Must all 50 people move about together?

I'm reminded of someone standing at the bottom/top of an escalator and not merely blocking others, but creating a hazard….in a group of 50.

The Tour Guides should be ashamed with the way they stand at the Exit to events and not walking far enough along to prevent their group(s) from blocking others.

What I also found to be a bit rude was when 50 young adults thought that waiting for a Meet-n-Greet was OK. I dunno, maybe letting some little children not have to wait an hour just seems to be common courtesy. Then again, witnessing the way some adults act blocking little children at Parades and such - this should not surprise me.

Country of origin has nothing to do with rude behavior.

A discussion last year (or earlier) discussed the fact that the tour guides are usually only a few years older than the kids they are escorting. Their primary job is to show these kids a wonderful time. That dictates their tip from the kids' parents and the word of mouth for future work. That's why you see the guides leading the chanting and leading them in their "bully" behavior. All they care about is showing those kids a perfect time and the hell with the rest of us.

We've found that the January/February groups are just as likely to be families touring in a group, so no issues with bad behavior, other than doing things as a group. The July groups are almost always teens.

MK was overrun with BTG's today. After the second time of them running into my DD due to walking 8 across through Fantasy Land, :scared1:I was no longer moving for them. They can go around me or through me, their choice. If they want to go through me, they'll get knocked flat on their entitled little behinds.

I don't care where people are from, but when you go somewhere and you see that you're the only one acting a certain way, and that is loud and obnoxious it's obviously not respectful to the other people to continue. I think it's awful and wish they would make an eeffort to curb it. My only experience was finding the chanting annoying, but when they tried to shove my daughter over and take our parade spot after we waited 90 minutes I told them to stop and moved over is they couldn't push my five year old again. Rudeness like that shouldn't be tolerated.

I'd never act however I felt like if it was not the polite thing in another country, city or whatever.

I am glad it seems disney is trying to keep them a but more calm, it must be a big headache for the CMs too. Even if you don't mind the chanting, don't let them jump lines and take parade spots! Kindly refuse to move and if they have an issue get a CM s attention. No need to be rude, but no need to be treated badly either!
