Disney for DD’s 16th with her 6 GFs: Are you Stupid Nuts? (Updated: The End)

Sorry but the TR needs to be postponed for a little while. DD’s mom, after suffering a long terminal illness passed away last night. DD and I are fine because we know that her mom is finally at peace. Will pick back up in a bit. She enjoyed reading about our trips including the one she and her sister went with us over New Year’s in 2009. Definitely would kick my behind if I did not finish this one. She loved talking to DD while we were at Disney to hear what the kids were doing on this trip and will be reading the rest of the report from a better place. To someone that asked, the flowers on the table were from her and her Aunt. DD took a few home to dry out as keepsakes.

What a brave young girl you have... my deepest sympathies for your family... May God Bless all of you!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My father passed away 4 years ago after a long illness, so I understand the mix of emotions you all must be feeling right now.

Have been lurking and enjoying the TR's - but coming out of lurkdom to express my condolences to you and your DD.

I'm so incredibly sorry for you both. And for eveyone that is going to miss her. So sorry.

Lisa

Sending you and your DD all the hugs and prayers needed to guide yourselves through this time.

No matter how expected, no matter the end of the suffering, the pain of the loss is indescribable, after the initial "numbness" eases up...we here will hold you & your DD close in our thoughts and prayers and hope you will find some comfort in the memories of your Disney trips and in the very real affection/regard that we here on the Dis feel for you...

Deepest sympathies--

You both have my deepest sympathy. Even when the transition is a blessing for the ill loved one, I know what a hole in the heart it can leave for those left behind.

I do not really know any of you out there and I realize there will be a slim chance that we will meet face to face. But wow, your outpouring of support has deeply touched DD and I. If we ever do meet, I would like to give all of you (or all y’all in deference to my southern side) a big group hug. Thank you so much from both of us.

Arrangements have been made for the service for the weekend after next. In the meantime, the TR must go on. I am taking a few days off and we must celebrate life. Right? Plus there is a lot more to tell. The munchkins haven’t seen the room yet and the cruise and the parks day are still left. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the next installment. Again, our heartfelt thanks.

Take your time on the TR. Concentrate on the bigger things in life like yourself and DD. We'll be here when you're ready.

So sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult times.
God Bless

Just wanted to add my thoughts and prayers for all who will miss DD's mom. :grouphug:

I too lost a mom the week before I turned 16 after a long illness. While it was expected and was an end to suffering, there were (and are) many times I wish it might have been otherwise.

I've greatly enjoyed reading your trip report from lurksville. Just coming out to say that you and your daughter are in my heart and prayers. Your attitude is amazing and such an inspiration.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Sending my condolences along with all the others.

Please know that you are both in our thoughts. Excuse me for speaking for others but I would guess many of us were thinking of you both today.

Also I wanted to say that these thoughts of her brought both a smile and a sigh. A smile and a sigh.

A celebration of life, indeed! My parents are no longer together, and I have step parents in my life, but my mom and dad have stayed very close for all of my life. I can say one of my favorite moments was using my DVC to bring my mom, stepdad, dad and brother, along with a few others to a GV in May 08. Having both parents in WDW with me was a wonderful thing. I'm glad you have been able to give that to your DD (I went back to read the NYE TR, not sure how I missed it.) If writing the TR right now is something that will give you comfort, by all means, continue. But you know that if you need to wait, we'll all be here waiting for your return. I'm heading to the World in a little less than 2 weeks and you really have me wanting to stop at the Poly for drinks. Again, you and DD and "mom's" family member's are in my prayers.
