SEDebtFree, I am delighted to tell you that Starring Rolls right next to the Brown Derby serves Cobb Salad as well as the flourless chocolate cake, for far less cash than the BD, and it is a CS. They also occasionally have the grapefruit cake. No tipping either. The Cobb Salad is fantastic!

Ooooh, I never knew this. I too have always thought it looks so good but think Brown Derby it pretty pricy. Mental note: Starring Rolls on list of must do for next trip!!

Every time I read the menus at Hollywood Studios my eyes always wonder to that Cobb Salad at Brown Derby. Is it good? Really good? It sure sounds good. Also, what did you think of Brown Derby overall.
I'm looking for an excuse to check it out. I just don't think (from the menu at least) that it looks like a 2 TS credit meal to me. Especially when you compare it to the food at say... CA Grill.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I thought the food at Brown Derby was as good as or better than the food at California Grill. I'm not sure why it gets such a bad rap - we ate there twice on our honeymoon, and both times had meals that would rival anything at the snooty Los Angeles restaurants we like. Our meal at CA Grill was also good, but not the transcendent experience it has been made out to be :lmao:

I think it is all in your tastes...CA Grill has the best meals TO ME and I enjoy it better than any other. However, it just depends on what you think is good food. That is why there are so many to choose from so everyone can have that meal that is perfect for them. So everyone lift up your fork in awe of the culinary wonders of Disney:cheer2:

Crispy Honey Chicken at Yak & Yeti ***Good, but not Exceptional***

I had the Crispy Honey Chicken twice when we went in March! It was really good but I feel like it needs some *kick*...like something to spice it up a bit. It's very good, just kind of...blah. Maybe I'll bring some red pepper next time and spice it up myself!

I am not sure that Dick's is still around as when my dd and family went last year I did a search of it to send them in that direction, without a warning, and did not find it. Let me know if you get there. I love MB. I get lost easily and as long as I stay on 17 I am fine even if I go the wrong way I can just turn back around and make it home.

SG

Are the cobb salad and grapefruit cake from Starring Rolls any different than from BD?

I wouldn't think so. They send them over from next door. Heavenly! :cloud9:

I don't see these listed on the menu at allears. Is the cobb salad a smaller version than what is served at the BD & what is the price? I love cobb salad, so I might have to add The Starring Rolls to my list :thumbsup2

Thanks!

It's hard to explain Club 33 without sounding snobby... it's this private club above New Orleans Square in Disneyland. Walt wanted a place to entertain bigwigs and guests. Unfortunately, he never saw it completed, and his idea for having animatronic birds that listen in on and participate in people's conversations didn't last long either.

Today the waiting list for membership is something like 10 or 14 years long. Most of the memberships belong to corporations, but regular people can join for a mere $10,450 initiation fee and $3,275 annually. :lmao: And then, as a member, you get to pay the price of a one-day admission to Disneyland for your meal every time you eat there! The tradeoff is you get "free" admission to Disneyland.

Needless to say, we went as somebody's guests. :rotfl:

Here's a link to a photo tour and TONS of info!

Oh, and the Purple Spongey Thingie was a berry dessert of some kind. I didn't try it, I'm afraid...

SNIP...

I don't get it... Maybe it's old age?

You PAY admission to Disneyland but get FREE admission to Disneyland???

:confused3

What am I missing?

Not the OP..but I think she meant the cost of a 1 day ticket into DL is the cost of the meal and then they turn around and let you into DL for free for the day. Think of it buying 1 getting 1 free..:rotfl:

I've always wanted to go to Dicks. I plan to hit it on my next trip to Myrtle. I've been in their pawn shop many times, but never the restaurant. Its on my to-do list outside of WDW. My "restaurant "to -do list outside of WDW is VERY short. Hooters (no, I've never been to one), Dicks, Emerils, and "Try My Nuts" at OBX. Other than those 4, every OTHER restaurant on my list is at Disney. If you like Dicks; You'll be fine!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Dick's is a chain. There are ones in Dallas, San Antonio, San Diego, etc. I don't think they are affiliated with Dick's Pawn Shops in the MB area.

Exactly! :thumbsup2 I'm just wondering what they did with the member's ten grand that they still need to charge for the meal/admission...:rotfl:

Club 33 is like the Holy Grail of DLR eateries :worship: My daughter hosted an event there for her company one year. She brought home a thick terry cloth robe for herself and a Club 33 pin for me.

"My daughter went to Club 33 and all I got was this lousy pin" should be my new signature :rotfl2:
