Are you a slow or fast drinker?

While walking at the park today there was a woman walking the opposite direction. We passed each other near the beginning of the walk and I noticed she was walking with a 20-24oz cup from Dunkin'. The first time we passed it was 3/4 full. The second time we passed, 45 minutes later, it was 1/2 full. The closest Dunkin' to the park is just under 4 miles away. That means in 4 miles of driving and 2.5 miles of walking she had only consumed 1/2 her beverage. I would classify her as a slow drinker.

I would classify myself as a fast drinker. I would have finished the drink on the drive to the park. I regularly open and finish a 16 oz bottle of water in just a few seconds.

I don't understand how someone can nurse a drink for hours.

I have my coffee in the morning and then many days, that's it until the next day. I guess this qualifies me as a slow drinker, hahaha!
[Yes, I know it's not good for me. I'm working on it, but liquids bloat me almost immediately and make me feel oh, so gross, like I want to vomit.]

If its hot I'm taking a while.
If its cold I'm taking a while.
If its room temp or just a bit chilled I can drink fairly quickly but I wouldn't just down it.
FYI its not really healthy to drink a lot of water in just a few seconds... and depending on how much you're consuming in that short of a time frame you could die of water intoxication.

It depends a lot on what I am drinking. I drink a lot of iced tea but sip on it all day. If I am drinking water to get my water allotment for the day, I will guzzle it pretty quickly.

Yeah, I drink certain things faster, but my morning chai latte takes me easily over an hour to drink. The best thing in the world is my reghargeble heated mug - because I got tired of having to reheat my sippin' tea!

In general I am a slow drinker but I lost my lower saliva glands during radiation treatments for cancer so I struggle with dry mouth. I often carry a bottle of water for this reason. I also cannot eat without a drink due to the loss of saliva glands so I tend to drink a lot when I eat.
