Marcia... great pictures of the Biergarten. I haven't seen any Biergarten pictures here yet. They have a mean lunch sandwich too!

I'd like to give my 2 cents about Biergarten.
We ate there about 6 or 7 years ago and LOVED it. It was one of our favorite themed meals. the show was AWESOME! but...
We went back 2 years ago, and the show had been DRASTICALLY reduced. the group of girls in the cute little skirts ringing the bells (:dance3: )was replaced by 3 burley guys(:mic: :mic: :mic: ). Thats never a way to get a guy's approval!!! The show had went from "German culture and German food" to "Germans get drunk". Sorry, it was a total disappointment. Not everyone there is there to get drunk. We were drinking our Pepsi (or CokaCola) and we felt really out of place. Now, I know the name of the place is Biergarten, but its supposed to be about the food. I felt it lost some flare and culture. We haven't returned since.
As far as the food... my plate didn't look anywhere near yours. Mine was piled high with sausages and meats.:cool1: I think I ate enough for 3 people that night, and it was 95% meat. Mostly sausages and weiners of all sorts! it was all good. I did have some kraut too, but its not like we have here in NC, and I thought it was good, but nothing spectacular.
For anyone out there who has NOT eaten at Biergarten, you MUST do it at least ONCE, even if your not a drinker. The ambiance in Biergarten has GOT to be one of the single best restaurants in WDW. Its not as romantic as San Angel - Mexico, but its in my opinion MUCH more realistic.
Does anyone have any pictures of the inside of Biergarten??? This would be a fine time to post them, along with more pictures of the weiners and sausages!!!

Oh, and :offtopic: I've been replying to all the people saying Hi from here in NC in private messages. I'm trying to keep it all on topic. I haven't gotten over the flogging i got from the last one (not mentioning it so noone brings it back up again!...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:) Not that I mind, but others get annoyed. I enjoy the chat, but I like to keep the topic here on the food. But... WOW! There are a LOT of people here from NC!!!
ONE MORE NOTE:
If your settings are set so people cannot private message you (many of you are) you should consider adjusting them to allow private messages. Sure you might get a moron flame you if your on one of the more controversial threads, but if you try to avoid those topics (recommended) you open yourself to lots of friendly people and advise! :thumbsup2 :duck: ::yes::

Just remember to avoid religion, politics, refillable mugs, and moral debates.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Now, forget all that and lets get back to some pictures of the inside of Biergarten!!!!:rotfl2:

People are controversial about refillable mugs? that seems a little strange.

Does anyone have pics or want to share their experience at River Grille & Brewery Works on the BW? Do you have to schedule a private tour to get to see them making beer?

I can't believe I never posted my photos up here!! Some of you might have read my reviews, but here you go again!

Ya ask for Biergarten, ya get Biergarten.

Oh, and we did NOT have the problem with drunken people, but we were there at 4:30 pm.
My kids loved it!

Love that pretzel bread!

Also, we definately want to try Flame Tree, my DH is a ribs FREAK, but I read that it is only open seasonally. Does anyone think it will be closed when we are going? Nov. 7th-16th.

I have never seen the Flame Tree closed at any point in the year. There isn't a lot of places to eat in AK, so it wouldn't make sense to close. The food is delish, but there is a lot of birds there begging for food.

I would have to disagree with you about the statement I bolded just slightly. While I agree people should be able to eat and not drink without feeling "out of place", this restaurant IS called the Biergarten and professes to celebrate Octoberfest all all year. Its got to be at least somewhat about the drink as well as the food.

When we eat at Flame Tree I take our food all the way down by the water. Rumor has it that there is a hungry alligator down there that keeps the birds at bay AND there is also often a boatload of 'characters' that come round and wave. It is a pleasant oasis in the middle of a busy park day and the food is really quite good. The onion rings are well worth using a snack credit for and if you are not in the mood for a heavy meal they have a wonderful fruit and yogurt plate. I recommend this place OP as well.

Slightly Goofy

Anyone know what page the most recent index is on? I thought 93, but appear to be wrong :confused3 (no big surprise there!)

This is a nice idea! Are there places to sit there? Also what else is near where you sit to eat? So that I have some idea of where to go, lol. We have only been to AK once and didnt even get to do everything, so we are soo excited about taking a WHOLE day there for our next trip.

Thanks for any advice! Dana

I sat there for a few minutes staring at this one. Its nothing spectacular looking, but its my single favorite dish at WDW. Those ribs are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. Now where's that drooling smiley???

That chicken looks pretty good.

I'm not saying remove any references to beer, I'm just saying on the first trip there was much more about the country of Germany and its culture. On the second it was just about the beer. I'm sure there are a lot of Germans who would agree that Germany is not just about beer. I just felt it lost some of the better points in the transition. The food was still good mind you!:thumbsup2 Oh, and I could be wrong about the first meal date. It might have been a few years before that. But the long horns were gone, the bells were gone, some of the dancing was gone, etc.

Wow, you were there on an off night!

When we were there in Sept., (see post above) there were oompa guys playing instruments, long horns, and a hand bell solo -- no girl's performing though.

Hoping it would be improved if you went back.
Make an early ADR! :thumbsup2

You can get some good advice, and I have. Also, you can get what I got from another person off a thread about not smoking on your balcony. They PM'd me to: 1.cuss at me 2.called everyone with a high post count retards and that they have no lives 3.wish for my quick and eternal damanation. Since they did it in a PM there was nothing that the mods could/would do about it.
Thanks for all the great pic, it has really helped in planning our upcoming trip.

Then delete it and move on. Why would you post about it on a public forum though?:confused3

Well at the time I didn't know there was an ignore list on the boards, so they did this over several PM's. Yes they were deleted, but they were upsetting. As to why I would post, I was sharing my experience with PM's. Also, to let people know that if you are harassed in a PM, the mods can't/ or won't do anything about it. Silly me I thought they could do something.
