If I could get good sweet tea everywhere (or make it myself for that matter!) I'd probably weigh around 500 pounds. Thank goodness I can't!

Hey there - I am a transplant to Austin. I am from Memphis, TN, which I consider the deep south. Home of grits, biscuits and white gravy, and sweet tea. I now live in Austin (Round Rock before), near Lakeway. I am curious what "Austin-ish" means. Bastrop? Kerrville? Manor? Georgetown, San Marcos? Marble Falls?

Speaking of sweet tea - how is it that you can only get it at Chick Fil-A in Austin? It's ridiculous!

We got Chik-Fil-A here about 3-4 years ago in SoCal and it's only 1 of 2 places in SoCal that I know of where you can get sweet tea. I lived in Atlanta for a while and visit frequently and LOVE sweet tea. I sometimes make it myself, but no one does it as good as my stepmom. She uses green tea instead of regular tea - soooo good!!!

The Chicken & Fish basket was good, but the desserts were awful.

My Shrimp and Prosciutto Penne Pasta - Yummo!

Were the prosciutto & shrimp in a cream sauce? I can't really tell from the pic if there is a sauce or just melted cheese. It looks incredible and I would love to make it at home. Even better, does anyone have the recipe?

Is this a recent photo? Last time we were there, the apple dessert was not one of those prepacked things. :scared1: We haven't been since July 07. I sure miss the real apple pie they used to serve before DDP started trashing the menu items. :sad1:

Corporate greed trashed the menu items, not the DDP. Both the homogenization of the menu and the DDP started at the same time as a way for Disney to make money. The menu changes were made to trim cost and the DDP was implemented to drive up profit after the changes started showing up. The DDP is not a cause of the menu changes, but rather a tool to increase sales of the changed menu items to increase profit.

:thumbsup2

I believe these photos are older ones, Spoodles doesn't have a steak on the menu anymore.

No Way Jose Sundae with Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Oh no, you DID NOT have mint chocolate chip with peanut butter topping :crazy2: Was it a dare? Did someone hold a pair of scissors to your park tickets? Can't be voluntary, just say it isn't so Terk!

;)

Thanks for the pics; they look delish (excepting the above mentioned heresy). I'm thinking you must like shrimp :thumbsup2 Now I want shrimp. But first I want some fried chicken.

DARN this thread.

I LOVE Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream!! A local ice cream place has a Reese's PB Cup sundae & a Reese's Pieces sundae that are the same as the No Way Jose sundae and I, of course, ALWAYS get it with Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. YUMMY!!!!!!

Just tonight I told DH to scootch over...and then started wondering if that's a regional term or if everyone says that.

:lmao: :lmao: Laughing because we've said it for years in PA and now in VA I thought it was a NE (NorthEast thing).
