Disney finally Made Me Mad

Fair enough. But these are characters which, although popular, never had unreasonable standby times to begin with. Imagine making Journey Into The Imagination or IASW FP+ only.

Or ... Captain EO.

On Sunday DD and I had a discussion about our CP breakfast ADR. I am a Tigger fan. She wanted her character meal and chose CP breakfast, only she decided on Sunday that she'd like to have dinner there instead. This led to very enthusiastic discussion as I tried to be the voice of reason as she attempted to sell me an additional meal (at $40 a piece - she is 12 and will have a spoon of Mac n Cheese and some dessert), using Tigger as her selling point. I argued that Tigger is easy to meet at AK and Epcot. One meal will do and breakfast will be fine.

Now I have to go and tell her this is probably the best $40 a head we are spending on food this trip. And that we will keep both ADR's.

Disney wins. She wins. But I don't like what they did. :lmao:

They fixed that.

The Beast is now ADR exclusive.

One that I tried at 6am eastern time online 180 days out and was not able to get for any night of my 5 night trip. Crazy stuff. I honestly didn't have a huge desire to eat there (hoping maybe we can FP+ a lunch tho), but just think it's crazy it is that hard to get into.

How will this work with DAS cards. I am assuming they won't be allowed since there is no standby line with a wait time posted to give you a return time...

Aren't Meet and Greets excluded from DAS anyway? Or they was that when they had the GAC?

As far as I know they allow them now in meet and greets now including Anna and Elsa and enchanted tales with Belle. They give you a return time equal to how long the wait is.

They should make Captain EO FP+ only. Or even make it a separate hard ticket.

Sparkling Captain EO Nights! Yours for the exclusive price of $200 a person!

Whaddya bet that new macaw experience in AK is going to cost extra...

I will definitely not use a FP for this, unless it's all that's available.

All the characters in these FP+ only meet and greets are easy to meet elsewhere. I can't speak for other parents of small children, but for us, Pooh and Tigger will be met at Crystal Palace, and mom and dad will be riding Soarin' and/or TT with a shorter wait.

...and for the families who don't have an extra $150-$200 for breakfast....they can see Pooh instead of Riding Test Track (that their kid probably cant go on anyway)

I cant believe how many parent are like "screw my kid if he wants to see Pooh, we're riding Soarin!"

This whole thing is a disturbing trend. I have always wondered if Disney was heading toward a reservation only ride system. Makes me wonder even more now. :confused3

This is what I strongly suspect is happening -- they're rolling it out slowly, with less popular attractions, before they apply it to everything.

Which sounds horrible.

For every step forward, they take one giant craptastic step back. Something doesn't smell right...

Remember back when character interactions used to be a random, exciting event? Wandering through the park, you'd suddenly see your favorite princess or Pooh character, or all seven dwarves- so totally exciting!! Magic!! :wizard: Pixie Dust!!! Even with the current meet-n-greets, at least everyone had the opportunity to see their favorite characters. Now? Better have a fast pass. Next thing you know, they'll start charging for fast passes. Or maybe that's the plan? Remind me again why I want to give my money to Disney…

I've been joking about "appointment riding" for a long time now. This really is getting a little too closer to reality than I like.

Are you kidding? I totally said screw my kid if he wants to see Pooh

More like Pooh is available to meet in multiple places in the parks, so when the choice is between meet Pooh in Epcot or skip a 60 minute line, you better believe we're skipping the line. Our trip is about all of us, not just one member of the family.

And anyways, your argument was that parents of kids who love Pooh are definitely going to skip Soarin'/TT FP now to meet them. Maybe if Pooh and Tigger were as hard to see as Anna and Elsa, but they are certainly not. This parent of a Pooh loving toddler will direct him to Pooh meet and greets elsewhere or obtain them as a 4th possibly 5th FP, he'll survive the horror, I'm sure.

Very very scary...I can't imagine that happening but I'm still scared that it might eventually... :sad2:
