**Disney Fantasy June 30th, 2012- EASTERN**

Hi everyone!

We will be joining you on the June 30th Fantasy cruise!

We just booked today - first cruise for my husband and 8yo son, and I cruised on "The Big Red Boat" waaaay back in college. We were never able to make the budget/timing/schedule work, but decided to book today when I saw that the VGT rate was available....so needless to say with that rate we are now committed...to some random stateroom somewhere LOL! So excited I can hardly contain myself!

I will be spending every waking moment between now and then reading, researching, and preparing, like every good Dis'er would. Not gonna lie - I am completely and utterly overwhelmed trying to pull this together in such a short amount of time.

I am going to thank you in advance for your advice since I know I will have questions... off to study this thread now.

Welcome. Premier - the Big Red Boat - was the first cruise that I ever did also. A girlfriend of mine and I went on the Big Red Boat. We were treated like royalty because most of the people on the ship were families or newlyweds so being two single women all the male servers and bartenders, etc. were flirting with us. It was a lot of fun. Now as a wife and mom I enjoy the Disney cruise which is just as much fun without the flirting.

For me a good portion of the fun of the vacation is the planning the trip ahead of time. These boards are all a wealth of knowledge and it is a little bit like drinking from a fire hose so good luck.

OMG..Us too. My friend and I went during spring break. We actually hung out withut in a few clubs/bars in Nassau with the waiters, staff, and people in the character costumes while they were "off duty". Bottles of wine just kind of appeared at our table or in our cabin...sigh...those were the days lol!

Make sure and join us over on FB too! I believe both FE groups are closed at this time but I'm not positive on that. We will be having a couple of DisMeets as well....the first will be a pre-meet for those that can make it on June 29th at POR to see Yeehaa Bob perform at 830pm. Then we have an onboard DisMeet at 3pm at Vista Cafe-Deck 4 midship. Hope to see you there!!!

We don't have facebook. Want to keep DD out of facebook for as long as we can, and so made the decision to set the example and not have facebook, but now I feel left out.

Oh well, I do look forward to meeting other DISers at the DISmeet and REALLY looking forward to the cruise! It is getting so close!

We are in the same boat. Keeping my teens off facebook means we aren't doing it either. Oh well, Just am happy to be on the ship and hopefully meet up with everyone!

Just wanted to let my fellow cruise mates know that if any of you are DVC members you CAN apply the discount that was sent out yesterday for this cruise. We just did it and save almost $1000 and upgraded from a Cat 08B Gty to a Cat4C! So excited! Definitely worth a call to DCL and trying to get a knowledgeable rep to apply the discount. If you booked originally onboard you cant combine, but you can Replace and the new DVC discount is cheaper than first day pricing. So good luck to anyone.

and lots of chatter on the dis-boards about this credit. someone already on this sailing said she got the discount $800.00. I've just e-mailed my Dreams
TA to see if she can get this for me. will let you know the outcome. I believe you need to be a Dvc member and paid with cash not points.

Yes, it is an awesome deal and as a DVC owner one you can take advantage of. Not sure if you saw my other posting, but we got two different agents giving us two different answers and unfortunately for us our TA got the agent that said "no". Your Dreams TA may get a bad agent, but you call and be persistent. Thats what we did. We called and when I got a good agent I just conferenced in my TA (at 10:45 pm, what an agent!) Don't take "no" for answer! Good luck! I am getting a refund of $958 and to boot it upgraded us to a Cat 4 from a Cat 8! Even if you already have a Cat4 you can save some money!

Look out folks, we are joining you on this cruise. I just got off the phone with DCL and booked, so I guess I need to go back and start at the beginning of this thread to find out all that is going on.

It will be just DH and myself, and this sailing will put us in Gold category. We are so excited. And guess what, DH doesn't know I have booked this yet. He is out of town teaching, so I probably won't talk to him until later in the day. Maybe I should say that least I will be on the cruise, cause it is a done deal now, no cancellations and no transfers.

Thanks for the welcome. I need to check into flights and where we want to stay the night before, etc. The meet on the ship sounds good, just not sure where we will be on the 29th. I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to figure out all I need to do.
