Disney Fantasy Eastern Caribbean December 14 2013

Anyone interested in a meet up to do the mixology class? Not that I have even looked at any navigators to see when it will be. Our group from the October cruise had an amazing time doing that class on the Dream. I felt like we got to bond a lot more during this than our quick meet and greet.

Even if there are no takers from here I will plan on going to it. Which makes me sound like a lush but I will be celebrating my graduate degree and will be alcohol free (thanks to a recent surgery) until our cruise. So I imagine one class worth and it will be nap time for me. Lol.

I wonder how many people can go to the champagne testing because we might have too many to go to the Disney one. Our mixology class only had spaces for maybe 15 of us.

Lianne~I dont think yur a lush! LOL I think that sounds fun too. I am up for most anything:)

I would love to mixology , Lianne. I know my mom, sis & Brian wanted to do at least one tasting. We did tequila on the last one (on my moms 60th) and it was a blast. Are both of those at sea days? The only thing I totally hope to schedule as soon as I can is a couples spa appointment. It's a splurge, but that'll be my gift to Brian for his birthday. I don't know if they book up fast, but I hope to do that one of the first two at sea days.

Man it seems funny to be planning days so far in advance, but FUN too!!!!!!!

So all this babble is to say I'd totally love to do it! We have to wait until we board to sign up, right?

As far as I am aware yes you can only sign up on board. And both mixology days are days at sea.

I am glad to hear your family has done a tasting before and had a great time. :) I am looking forward to dragging my husband along as last year we didn't do anything on the joint sailing we had. One excursion was booked and everything else was what we felt like doing at that moment. It was completely different than the kids and my second experience on the Dream just months later.

Yes you must...love the App!

Funny thing to me about the app is it doesn't realize the last poster was you. So it will show a new message / alert or what not to my subscribed threads. Then when I go and check the message it will just be my own! Haha.

I always refresh it cause I know what u r talking about!!!

Are your friends on the Dis? Tell them to get on and come on the thread and chat with us! The more the merrier!!!:hippie:

I met 2 of them through the Dis last time. The others I have told about the Dis, but they didn't seem interested. I will mention it again when we get closer.

That is awesome about your friends!!!

I was thinking about you and your pregnancy the other day. Did I read right that you decided to leave the baby at home? A friend who was considering coming with us is just found out she is pregnant and since she's due in August, she's decided against it. Although I'm bummed, there's always next time!!! Anyhoo, I was thinking of you when I was speaking with her. Hope you are feeling well!!!!!

Thank you! Yes, as of now we're going to leave the baby at home. I wouldn't do it at a few months old due to nursing issues, but at 9 months, I feel better about that decision. In fact, I am missing a family cruise to Alaska in June that I sort of spearheaded from the beginning because Ian will only be 2-3 months old. (Also, they decided to go Carnival and tag along with some family friends on their reunion, and that was NOT what I wanted to do. I didn't have to do DCL, but not Carnival!) So I understand your friend's position.

I am up for any tastings there may be. I also think it would be fun to do a champagne meet in Oh La La. But if we do a champagne tasting in there, isnt it only champagne that we can get? I am not a big champagne drinker, so I was going to order some kind of "foofy" pink drink. But I think doing it in Oh La La would be fun:thumbsup2 I need to get my pink boa too Robin.

Cristy-- as for updating the web page, I handle that. You just have to give me the info. I have you and Graham and the boys on the roster for the fe and such. Are the others participating in anything..FE, etc? If not then I really don't need the info.

If you look on the webpage I have a running list of the Pink ladies going! Almost anything u need is on the webpage!

thank you so much!
Thanks for the Pink Ladies running list, I have not checked the site lateley. I just listed my family 'cause I'm proud of 'em :) I will ask them all about joining the fun, some may, some may not (my 'big' boys might wear pink boas if invited, who knows with those two !!) I'll let you know.

I can't believe 11 months til we meet !

I thought the Ohh La La would be best as the bar will be open for you 'foofy' ladies too :)

Mixology class?!?? Count me in, Graham too! The navigators I use for reference (from May '12) have it listed on day 6, Thursday at 330 pm. Sounds like fun, we do all those tasting things too. You have every reason to celebrate, go enjoy!!

If signups are first come first serve, we could ask guest services to register on day 1 I suppose. Maybe if it's popular enough they will do two classes or make it bigger. Disney is all about saying 'yes', right :)

The one I looked at had it on day 3 at 3pm as well as on day six.

Glad to hear others enjoy the classes as well. :)

Cristy--just so I understand where you are going with this....help!! LOL So are u thinking doing the pink ladies on a champagne tasting>? I believe you have to have a ticket to get into the bar that has it, so it us non champagne drinking individuals wanna partake but not drink that...well it wouldn't be beneficial. I for one won't join in a pink lady meet if I have to pay $15 for something I won't be drinking. Just let me know so I can leave or remove myself from the list.:confused3

My apologies Michelle,
I assumed the OLL lounge would be open to the public ( some tastings take place during regular business hrs) but I looked at the navigator I have available and it seems that it is not. The tasting is at 1 but the lounge isnt open until 5. I thought the setting of the pink bar and the tasting for those who wanted champange ( as it was originally the "Pink Champange Ladies") would be a great place to gather but if the bar's not open for service to cater to those not tasting, it's not an option.

DIS board folks, The La Piazza Lounge does open at 12:30 daily, or so the navigator says, how about there on either Sunday or Monday afternoon. we can order what we all want and just have a good time.

Thanks for asking Michelle, hopefully I can have it worked out by the time the cruise departs :/

It stinks you can't talk to someone onboard instead of dcl reps that some have never sailed..aarrgghh. I don't necessarily mind paying but I just want to be offered another drink....lol. girl can't go without a drink. Haha. I contacted friend who had done this many times. This is what she said:

I have done this three times now. The first time we did this in somebody's suite and we each contributed a bottle. There was no cost for this. The second time, we had Disney organise it like one of their tastings and everybody was charged $15 to their stateroom account. The most recent time our organizer requested a room from Disney and a sommelier and purchased the champagne/ sparkling wine from them. Everybody who was tasting paid a certain amount by Paypal ahead of the cruise to the organizer and people who did not want to drink were welcome to attend for free.

Well. I guess we should decide what time of day is good for everyone and then kinda go from there. If afternoons work better then obviously we need a bar that is open earlier.
I, personally, dont want to do this in someone's room. Hello, talk about crowded, plus I wouldnt want people sitting their tushies on my bed.

It kinda would be cute to have it in the Champagne bar because it is pink and all. Hmm...Christy would you be willing to call Disney and see how much they would charge to do a tasting of various drinks? I do think that having a sommelier do this would cost more than say $15.00

Michelle~You're going on a Disney cruise in February, cant you ask onboard how much this type of activity would cost? Please:worship:

I have to agree about the room, far too many (and hopefully more will join) I like the idea of a lounge area, and early in the day the inside ones shouldnt be too busy at all. The big thing for now is the day and time that's most accomodating for the group. Once the majority of folks have weighed in, I will be happy to call or see what info Michelle can bring back next month
( SO jealous over here in Tennessee !!)

Other groups contacted DCL and were able to score Wavebands or some of the lounges for thier gatherings. I will be happy to call Disney and see if they can help. I have also done some research and it seems other "Pink Ladies" have hosted alternate drink tasting ideas and Disney has catered to them, but it was always the same type of beverage, champagne, wine, or cosmos. Since our group has diverse tastes, I think it would be best to go somewhere that offers "open bar" selections so we are not pigeon holed into one type of drink. The other groups have had guest princesses, Daisy or Minnie and had a photographer come by for photo ops, and I have some great ideas to ramp up the fun, too. I need to watch for Hobby Lobby for half price boas !

Cristy I like the way you think...Love guest princesses. :thumbsup2 I think my friends first pink ladies was like one of the first ones so not a ton of participants and it was in a suite not a normal stateroom but like Walt Disney suite!! So much more living room space. I like the pink ambiance and don't mind the $15 ...just want something good to drink....Bon Voyages, etc....LOL

thank you so much!

I didn't mean say I didn't need them...LOL I was typing on my phone and I wrote I didn't need there stateroom info unless they were doing FE....I didn;t realize it didn't come exactly how I had wrote. Cool you have a ton going.

U tell those big boys,,, this is GIRLS ONLY!!! :thumbsup2 It's our one chance to get away from the men,.....:woohoo:

I think the mixology class would be fun too! I have read that those classes can be hard to get into though and I def don't want to miss out on our pink party! :) Is there a trick to getting in, or can one of us sign up our entire group? Any chance they would do a special class just for us? I am sure we must have more than 15 ladies signed up for the pink party already.
A princess or Minnie at our party would be awesome!!!

I would imagine if there were enough of us that we could get our own private one. Since we could potentially sell out the public one they offer.

It wasn't difficult at all to sign up for the only one offered on the Dream. A lot of the group went to Guest Services and did it the first day. I went and did it by walking through The District and asking one of the bartenders to sign me up. Next time I will probably go the GS route though as mine ended up signing me up for the beer one (same price and it was the one he could do) and noting in the system I wanted mixology. Problem was I never got a ticket like everyone else to it so the bartender wrote down my info to confirm I was billed. Although she had just enough spots for all of us so she knew I was coming. I just didn't have my ticket to prove I was in the right place.
