I agree that all those sound like great ideas to pinch pennies. I am listing on ebay to make extra spending money. Plus our annual garage sale is coming up, so I hope to make some money there also.

How lucky you are to be going to Hawaii!!! Wish I could join you Perhaps someday I will get there. Maybe if I make enough from the garage sale. Hmm....how much do you think I could get if I sold my husband??!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes, I'm super excited for Aulani, it's my first trip there. It was easier to afford because we used our airline miles to pay for both flights in full (believe me, it's taken several years of using our Delta Amex card to be able to do that!) Our OOP expenses will be food, rental car, and fun. Our fun budget is 100% based on meeting our weight loss goals by November. Hopefully we will have enough to do a few fun things, but I also won't be upset if all we do is lounge around the pool and snorkel in the lagoon and do some hiking!

Selling on eBay is a good idea. My DH already does that with model trains and random stuff, but I bet I could find a good amount of stuff kicking around the house for him to list. I have a bunch of books I've been wanting to sell, too... maybe on Amazon. That should keep me busy!

I don't know... does your husband cook? I would be willing to pay some moolah for one of those!

And finally, I did sort of bring this up to DH last night, about keeping this cruise after all. He said then we should cancel the Alaska cruise. Hah, fat chance! I told him I *will* be going on two cruises next year, and he's welcome to join me. We'll see how the conversation goes. I was also thinking of recruiting the two couples we met on our last cruise, and seeing if either of them would be willing to join us. Last December, it was both of their anniversaries, so they have to do *something* for their anniversary next year, too, right?! I know my DH would not be able to resist a reunion with them.

We JUST got off the Magic (7 day Western) and we booked this cruise for next time - can't wait - so excited!!

We did the 7 day Western Magic in December 2011 as well and booked this cruise for another awesome adventure. This time myself (42), wife (35) and 7 year old daughter will bring along Grandma and Granpa. My DD (i think I'm using this right) is very excited to bring Grandma and Grandpa along for this cruise. DD will be 9 by the time we cruise. Getting excited searching DISboards for all info on the Fantasy.

Yes we were on the Dec.10 cruise. We had a blast. That was our first Disney cruise.

My husband really wants to do Alaska also. I told him I would do it, but it would have to be on Disney. I think the kids would get bored if we were on another line going to a place that is cold.

Welcome to the group! Glad to see our thread moving again.

For the expenses, I'm planning on using my flexible spending reimbursement from childcare to pay our way. I figured I spend the money each month for their schools so it is already factored into our monthly expenses. However I contribute to the reimbursement from my salary pre-tax every other week so when it's time to file those claims, I can direct the funds to go towards the cruise instead of going back into my pocket.

I may use my bonus from work next year towards it as well. I debated doing that this year but ended up getting a new bedroom set instead.

Either way I'm looking at both options as a way to contribute to the vacation that doesn't require me to do any kind of budget changing.

Yeah - we had such a great time we booked again for the same timeframe. We did WDW for a few days prior too and the crowds/line-ups/weather were great.

We loved the Western, but wanted to try something different - same goes for the Magic . . .

I would love to the Hawii or Alaskan DCL but whew - I would have to sell more than my husband to fit that one in

I am going to Cabo in March, so I should just be greatful, but I LOVE travelling so much!!

Maybe I will win the lotto!!!

I hear ya about the weight loss issue - agh - so hard!! I am back at WW again and doing Zumba classes - trying to use the DCL as a motivator + of course I will treat myself to the spa if I reach goal!!!

Hello cruisers! So... I am posting here because technically I am booked for this cruise next year. However, it is supposedly just another dummy booking until the 2014 itinerary is available to book. But I am SO excited about trying out the Fantasy, trying the Eastern vs. the Western itinerary we did last December, and getting a pretty smoking price on a verandah, not to mention getting to cruise with DCL again! So I decided to check out the cruise meet thread, and wow, you guys have been chatting for awhile! Kudos!

*waves* Hi Erin! You remember us from the cruise? My husband, Ben, was just talking to your mom on Facebook about a DL trip on 6/8. We weren't going to go till next January, but he thought it would make me happier to celebrate my birthday there (it would, and it does!) It just happens that the best weekend in June for us is the same time you'll be there! We'll have to come up with a time/place to meet up... maybe food? I don't know.

I can't believe you're thinking of booking the same cruise! If you missed my earlier post, Ben thinks this is still a dummy cruise, to be changed at a later date. I, however, feel otherwise.

Well, we just finished our first Disney cruise on the Fantasy last Saturday. What a fabulous time we had.

We signed up while on board for the December 14, 2013 cruise! Now we want to experience it all decorated for Christmas.
