Disney Fantasy Blocks

Ahhh ok. Yeah I was watching the disney dream when they were like half way of building her so I wasn't sure how it starts completely.

No problem. Its really interesting how they do certain things over there. i have some pics Ill post later on the drydocks with the ships in them.

FYI, the keel laying for the Fantasy will be on February 3rd. :goodvibes

I'm excited to watch since I didn't know about it for the Dream.

Thank you. Hadnt had a chance to look it up yet. I figured it had to be soon to make her March 2012 debut.

Yep everything is DREAM DREAM DREAM. In all honesty, I wish that DCL would keep the Magic in PC at least part of the time with the Dream and Fantasy. she could do 7 day trips to the other islands that are out there like Aruba, Jamaica, etc. They could alternate with different islands. Even run a trip to the canal. They dont have to go thru, they could run down there, then come back. For the Bahamas, weve seent Atlantis, and done the other tours. Its a get you interested trip. Im interested already.

I think I will write a letter of suggestion to DCL :thumbsup2 I totally agree - I am interested already, too - I don't need the "get me interested" by taking me to Nassau and Castaway Cay. I already ADORE CC!!! Let's see some of the beautiful Caribbean. By the way, great idea about the canal.

Side note - I was GLUED to the webcam watching the Wonder go thru the locks. How neat. Don't know why - just mesmerized!!

The Christmas cruise was especially nice for the new ports Guadelope, Barbados and Martinique. It was the first time the Magic stopped at Barbados and Martinique - the people in the ports were pretty happy to have the ship in. It would be tough to do these on a 7 day run given the distance.

Sure it would, so if the Dream is doing 3,4,5 nights, and the Fantasy is doing 7 nights, and the Magic is in the Med in the summer, the Magic could easily do 8 or 10 nighters to these locales in the fall, winter, and spring - why not??. I think the market would be there. I would LOVE to visit those places, as well as Tortola, Turks & Caicos, etc. Those holiday cruises can be expensive, and sometimes, it's hard to get time off work (for some). Just my thoughts......

We ran over to the port today to try and see the Dream, but she was out. The Magic was home, and looked like she needed a paint job. They were in the process of putting up the stands to view the christening. I also plan on writing an email on several things Ive noticed lately, and drop a few suggestions and see what happens.

I think that there would be a lot of interest if the Magic did regularly scheduled ports also, other then the standard east and wests. They dont have to be 7 day either. DCL could easily change up the nights without a problem. Or better yet, move the Magic to Maimi/Ft Lauderdale. That would put her closer to a lot of destinations.

Heres some of the dry dock pics that show how the gates are installed and the different ships in them etc.

The Adia Sol has now been floated out (as of the 27th) - possibly building the Fantasy in Hall 5 instead of Hall 6?

There is a video that was posted recently of the Celebrity Silhouette as it's being built at MW, and it has some great shots of the Fantasy in the foreground, especially the front cover over the 9A forward facing porthole rooms, and the section of Deck 9 or 12 that goes on right above it (I think).

Here is a link to the video:

I grabbed a couple of screen shots of the best Fantasy views that you can find generally at the following points:

Sorry, no. The Fantasy has already been started in 6. Most of her blocks if they arent all already there, are sitting next to the drydock.

Hall 5s drydock is too small to comfortably fit a Dream class ship. Plus Aida has another ship being built in front of the Sol.

Here is a picture from the web cams as of May 11, 2011 at 12 pm est. Interestingly enough the panorama view doesn't appear to have changed in the last couple of weeks.
