Nice!!! Thanks for posting this, truck1!! I hope the Fantasy gets as much pomp and circumstance as the Dream is......
I was wondering when they will start!![]()
Welcome.
I dont think that there will be half as much publicity with the Fantasy as there was with the Dream. the only reason that the Dream is a household name around here is that she is the first new DCL ship in 10 years (going back to when she was announced.) The Fantasy, will be like the Wonder. Theyll make announcements, but it won be such a big deal.
What is the link to watch her being built. I went to the builder site and couldn't find her![]()
I agree it won't be as much hoopla when they build her or sail her to Florida, but I think once she is christened, the Fantasy is going to get a lot of interest... mainly because of the itineraries.
I thought they would float out the Celebrity Ship first then start on the Fantasy. I could be wrong, just a prediction.
Is the Fantasy practically the same length and size as the Dream? Both of them kind of look similar in length to me.
I'm not sure, but the caption for the photo says it's a Celebrity ship, not DCL. I could be wrong, though.
Welcome.

Yep. I agree. I for 1 living here in Fl, can cruise fairly frequently. Theres only so many times you can go to the Bahamas. The second thing is that, with the MAgic having spent a good portion of the last few summers either in Europe or in Cali, it negates the 7 day crusies that a lot of people can take when there kids are out of school. DCL seems to have forgotten that.
Theyll do basically the same thing with the Fantasy as they did with the Dream. Theyll put in a gate, just infront of the Sillouhette, drop the Fantasys first block in,and a few more in the foward part of the dock,as far as they can go, then build her up vertically. Once the Silouhette is able to float on her own, and they go as far as they can in the dry dock, theyll pull her out, pull the gate between the Fantasy and the Silouhette, drop in the rest of the Fantasys blocks, then float her out. In this way, they can build 1 ship completely, and have a good head start on a second, with only 1 dock. They do the exact same thing with the smaller dock.
I agree, actually. I was hoping for different, but assume it won't be. It was actually kind of sad - as we were leaving PC on the Magic last Monday, instead of the people waving us with the Mickey hands, they were hanging a sign "Welcome Disney Dream." Now, eventually, they did come out and wave, but I felt, "Man, we (the Magic) is old news. Everyone is waiting for the Dream." Red-headed step child
I'm with you, truck1. No more Bahamas. Even though Nassau is our "sea day," still. We are on the Fantasy for a 7 night eastern in June 2012 because we want that summer trip. I am hoping that DCL widens it more to include other islands, because there is only so many times you want to sail to 1)the Bahamas, and 2) the same caribbean ports. At some point, they will need to mix in a few more, other than adding special ports here and there (like holiday cruises, and repositioning cruises). JMO.
