Disney Fantasy and Magic together in Nassau

Does not occur often as Nassau is not a regularly scheduled port for the Fantasy (on the right).
As the Fantasy departed, there was a short "battle of the horns" between the Fantasy and the Magic

Thanks for sharing this, so cool! But seriously -- is the perspective really warped in that photo or is the Magic really that much smaller than the Fantasy? It looks like a toy in comparison!

The first photo was using a wide angle so there is some distortion. Here is a side-view - what you don't see is that the bow of the Fantasy is 20-30 feet PAST the stern of the Magic - so yes, the Fantasy is much longer. The Fantasy is also much taller (more floors) - the horn video was taken from deck 11, which looks down on the Magic. I was on Deck 12 during departure, and the difference in size was even more noticeable. There was another cruise ship on the other side of the Magic (it was just to the left of the picture below) so it was difficult to get a good angle showing the entire length of either ship.

I was talking to one of the crew members who visited the Magic while in Nassau - their comment was "it smelled like my grandparents' house"

It was the final stop on the 8 night Bermuda cruise... except that Hurricane Lee was forecast to pass close enough to Bermuda, so they swapped it with a western Caribbean itinerary. They kept the stops at Castaway and Nassau at the conclusion.

I feel this is usually how horn battles go. I was on the Fantasy in September 2022 when the Wish got detained due to Hurricane Ian. We were leaving Castaway Cay and the Wish was just sailing around, so we had a horn battle with them. Seem to recall it went similarly, Fantasy kicked things off, then instead of actually taking turns, they just kept sounding the horns over one another. Seems like the captains would be able to radio each other to coordinate or something?

no they werent supposed to go there. That current cruise seems like a trip from hades lol.
They were supposed to go to bermuda, but got changed to a western with a double dip at CC.
on the way to cozumel, they had an emergency medical evac at key west. this at nassau was also a mergency medical evac.

The original 8-night Bermuda itinerary always included stops at CC on Friday and Nassau on Saturday. Bermuda was cancelled due to Hurricane Lee so Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and a second (double-dip) CC were added. Neither medical evacuation impacted the cruise: the stop outside Key West was on the way so did not delay the Fantasy's arrival into Cozumel; and the medical evacuation to Nassau occurred after departing CC on schedule but arrived in Nassau at 2:00 am instead of 8:00 am - the only impact was the fireworks were rescheduled to just after sunset at 7:45 pm on Saturday (instead of 10:30 pm on Friday).

The strange part was that there were three medical issues (two were "Brightstars") during the first dinner sitting on Friday (one of which was the reason for the early arrival into Nassau). The good news is that the ill passenger was awake and alert when departing the Fantasy in Nassau.

It's my understanding that the Fantasy doesn't actually have a horn, it's a digital recording. The Magic still has her horn I believe.
