This is the site I use: http://v50.net

Just put the date of your trip along with a title and then copy the generated code (make sure to copy the bulletin board code!) into your signature!

HTH! :thumbsup2

This is supposed to be to announce the winner of the "keys to the Kingdom" sweepstakes and also to announce the next year long celebration
whatever is being announced, where did jilljill get the info? (I'm not doubting, I just want to snoop and get in on early info, too :teeth: )

Oh, they get it. They get that they have two ships that they can charge a premium for and almost never have to discount to sail relatively full. Adding another ship will increase the supply of DCL staterooms on the market, but won't significantly change the demand, which means that they may end up needing to lower their price to fill three ships

That is exactly what I was thinking. If you compare and contrast cruise prices it is obvious that people are willing to pay substantially more for an in demand ship or cruise line. On RCI for example Freedom cruises sell for substantially more than cruises on the older vessels since there is a much higher demand to sail on the new ship. Likewise, when DCL keeps a limited supply they can charge a more premium rate.

Which may, in fact, be why the rumors are becoming more creditable now. Disney's ships are now ten years old - not long in the tooth for a cruise ship - and Disney has kept them looking brand new - but not new, either. If they wait too long, they will no longer be able to hold the premiium simply on brand - people will sail the other new cruise ships. If the contracts all run five years out - Disney needs to get contracts in for new ships in the next few years or needs to decide to get out of the cruise business.

That, however, does not mean that they will expand the line, they could simply replace the two ships they have as they become dated.

I have some CM friends that told me about the press event at the MK on that date.

The announcement is set for December. Much larger ships. The on board water parks are said to be much like those on the Freedom of the Seas.

Cruisecastle...you have been on alot of posts and people keep reminding you that you do not what you are talking about,on any subjects at hand..you have been rude, insulting and stating things as fact that have no merit as such.
The new ship is not a fact, and untill for sure please stop stating as such.
Have a good evening and please post appropriatly. thank you

Since you keep telling us that this is truely a fact, would you please mind sharing where you got this information from! We're all anxious to know!

That Disney was thinking about premiering POTC 3 in Long Beach CA and at that time they would official announce the Building of a 3rd ship. May of 2007 Gossip Gossip Gossip :hyper2: Just watching and eating pop corn too. popcorn:: and lurking on the web :surfweb:

lol :surfweb: popcorn:: I'll also have some popcorn to go with my coffee!

Cruisecastle...Are they still going to be Panamax ships, with additional decks(when compared with the Magic)?

Folks - this rumor has been churnning for years. I got caught up in it myself a couple years ago. Everything you can find on the internet says there are no Disney Ships under construction. And if there were, Disney would do everything possible to promote it. It makes no sense to be constructing a ship and keeping it a secret.

Disney Dreams will be on the West coast with trips to Mexico and Alaska. Dreams is being built under a fake corporate name and is much bigger with large waterparks on board.

Yes, certainly.

By the way, how does that crow taste? :lmao: :rotfl2:

I can accept that perhaps an announcement about a new ship may be coming, but absolutely no way is the ship already under construction under a fake name.

There are a limited number of ship yards in the world. You can't build a huge ship in secret, so all the ships currently being built are known along with what company is building them. There simply are not all that many big cruiseships being built at any one time.

All the ships are being built for known cruiselines. There are no ships being built for a company 'X', a company that is not a known, existing cruiseline. So we know this ship is for Celebrity and this ship is for Holland American etc. There is no ship being built for "Super Secret Unknown Cruiselines"

Since all ships currently being built are for existing cruiselines, the only way that the Disney Dream could be under construction is if DCL talked Celebrity or Carnival or one of the other cruiselines to build the ship for them and this isn't happening.

If this rumor were true, it would be easy to spot the ship that wasn't being built for an existing cruiseline, but such a ship doesn't exist.

They certainly could be planning the next ship, ready to sign the contracts, ready to start construction, ready to make an announcement. But the one part ot his rumor that is simply not true is that the ship is already under construction. It is just not possible.

This is a very interesting post. I don't know what to believe, but all I can say is that after working for the mouse and living in Central Florida for almost 20 years; anything Disney wants, Disney gets. They can pull off things no other company can do. For example getting to shoot off fireworks in the middle of the ocean. I wonder if Carnival or RCCL could have pulled this off.
The INS even created a new entrance visa specificially for Disney's international workers (That's how DH got here!). What other company does the INS do this for???

If anyone is able to pull off a ship being built in secret; it's Disney.

Like most of the rest of us, I have no way of knowing whether or not there is another ship being built.

What I DO know is that I've been told, during private conversations, by two different DCL captains, that unless or until DCL is able to build their own terminal, there will not be any permanent California sailings.

Anyone heard any "rumors" about that being built??? ;)
