jrabbit said:Of course DCL couldn't keep the building of a cruise ship secret if they used one of the standard ship yards. They're not using one of those,
they are using their own super secret WED shipyard that's located somewhere north of Antarctica!!

Rence said:Exactly - Disney did use a front company etc. BUT - it was known that SOMEONE was buying up a bunch of land.
Same thing here - there would be a big ship being built someplace, they might not know who is building the ship but they would know that SOMEONE was building a ship that wasn't tied to an existing cruiseline.
It is easy to obtain a list of what shipyards are building what (see list posted earlier in this thread). All those ships are being built for existing cruiselines. There is no ship being built for 'Company X'. There are message boards that are just as obsessed with the cruise industry as this board is with Disney. A mystery ship would be a huge topic of conversation. And there's not a peep about a ship being built for company unknown.
So there is no Mr. Foster building a cruise ship
HooKooDooKu said:Stated another way, for a front company to work, that private company would face the possible liability that they spend a billion dollars to build a Disney ship, and then Disney decide at the last minute that they are not going to buy it.

OK, here's another hint where the WED Shipyards is located - somewhere south of Prudhoe Bayerikthewise said:Since everywhere else IS north of Antarctica, this only rules out building it in Superman's secret fortress.![]()

Well I will try to answer your question from my perspective having just returned from a cruise to Alaska on NCL. We loved both of our Disney cruises and the Magic is wonderful, but I have to say our Alaska cruise was by far our favorite vacation ever. Alaska is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. Some of the glorious sites we saw include a brown bear fishing salmon out of a stream, pods of orcas leaping out of the water, eagles soaring over our heads, stunning blue glaciers with huge chunks of ice thundering into the water below, waterfalls pouring off of cliffs, rainforests filled with moss and fern, gorgeous Native American carved totems towering above us and this is a short list. I could go on and on. It was, in a word, spectacular. The Mexican Riviera is fun, the Caribbean is lovely, but Alaska is truly a wonder and I can't wait to go back. My children are still talking about all the amazing things they saw and experienced. We have already booked a 10 day trip on Princess next year that will take us to some new Alaskan ports and I am counting the days.discruiselovers97 said:I personally don't know if i would like to go on a cruise to alaska. I would you all tell me why you like it so much?

Panama Canal transit -- I can't speak for the 2,400+ other folks onboard, but we had an absolute blast during the whole 14 nights ... including the day we crossed the canal.
NASA just Identified the mysterious radar blip thats following the space shuttle: it the forward section of a Cruise ship that has hidden Mickeys on it.Now if the shuttle just delivered a ship part to the space station then how do we get it back to earth to sail? Or is it intended to be the first Disney Space Ship?
