Disney Dream May 1, 2011

That's DISappointing. (sorry about the pun) I was pretty upset about our 5pm showtime, but we were lucky the 7pm was available to switch to. There's quite a bit of time before the Dream sets sail. I'll hold out a little hope and send some positive energy your way..

All is good, got my showtime moved to 9pm, long story so I will spare the details. I did move my reservation back to Disney directly. No more TA's for me.

YAY!!!! We just recieved a letter from dcl telling us our dining time and show seating....has anyone else recieved this? kinda cool!!!:banana::banana:

Got our letter too the other day. Our timing seems like it will work well for our family.:thumbsup2

On another note, we just joined DVC. Bought points at SSR. Made ressies post cruise at Wilderness. We are SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Our cruise is coming up fast! I've been planning this for a long time & I can't believe it's less than 6 months away. I am sure that after the Dream sails out in Jan we will all have a better idea about the ship and her pros and cons. I know I can't wait to see real photos vice the artist renderings. What are you all looking forward to the most?

For me it is definitely Castaway Cay. I've never been on a real vacation but I have always dreamed about at beautiful tropical vacation. I can't wait to sink my feet into the sand at CC!

@byejou~ Thank you for the link. I have never been on a Disney cruise, but some of the comments on this board have me a little concerned about the size of the Dream. My main concern is Castaway Cay. Do you think it will be too crowded? It is the think I am looking forward to the most on the cruise and I am hoping it is not a fiasco.

Hi everyone! Our family is booked on the 5-1 Dream cruise and we can't wait! This is our first Disney cruise, we have been on Carnival for a few times. It is myself, husband, 2 year old daughter, mom and stepdad. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for a couple of days beforehand so that we can enjoy our trip a little longer. I am excited that Disney is finally starting to post more pictures of the Dream!

Me me me! Although I admit my thoughts and excitement won't get going until the holidays and new year pass. Then January is so doldrum, the major planning and over thinking all things cruise sets in! Plus right about that time, we will see her set off on the inaugural sailing and start getting some reviews. I can't wait!!!

We will be joining you guys on May 1st on the new Dream ship! We are so very excited. This is our first cruise and DD and DS can't wait. Well, and Momma too! DH thinks I'm nuts also for starting my packing list.
I couldn't sleep so I thought I would get some housework done and check emails which led me to the forum. I couldn't believe how much wonderful information that everyone has shared. This is awesome!

Just wanted to pop in and say Hello! (another Texan too)

Is anyone planning on doing fishextenders? I know my son would get a big kick out of little surprises, especially on his bday.

Nice to "meet" you all!

We would love to participate in the fishextenders! Sounds like fun!

I was just talking to my kids about the cruise this morning - only about 4 months to go. Although that also means paying off the balance soon.

We've never done the fish extenders although I have heard raving reviews about them. Anyone want to share more about how it works? My kids would love it I am sure.

Funny you brought up pay off......I just did that today. Had the money in the bank and got an email as reminder to book on board activities 1/30 so I just paid her off. It felt good. Now awaiting a GTY assignment.

Have my fingers crossed for Palo dinner or brunch but from the sounds of other discussions reservations are going fast with new club levels. Oh well, time will tell.

We are now going to Vero Beach for 2 days pre-cruise to get into the beach mode. Can't wait!!!!!!!!

We did fish extenders on last cruise and it was fun but we got sooo much stuff I had to purchase a duffel to carry it home. I think we will opt out this time but enjoy, the kids will love it.

I just booked this cruise 2 days before Christmas!!! I have a verandah room at the moment, and I am hoping to "downgrade" to a regular stateroom to save some money. I had no intentions of doing this cruise...but we all know how that goes!!! We just went on our first DCL cruise in Nov 2010 and LOVED it. The kids, who are 6 and 8 actually want to go on a cruise rather than WDW!!!

We are staying at Vero Beach for 2 nights ahead of the cruise for something different.

OK, who else is obsessed?????? :yay:I know I am not alone in this... We have a cat. 5B verandah, and DH really does not want to pay that much. I am hoping to get either an outside or inside SR. But at this point, I am going no matter what!!! He will just have to deal...or stay home! That would save some money...HAHA!!!:cool1:

OK dreamers, its the new year and we only have 115 days til our cruise. Anyone else excited to start the countdown????? :woohoo:

We changed up plans a bit and now will be at BCV for 2 days prior. Can't wait.

Started my vacation container and she is just about done and ready to her trip.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season! Now lets get into vacation mode!!!!party:

Now that the holidays are behind us - I am thinking about the cruise a lot. Also, with the Dream arriving at Pt. Canaveral yesterday makes it exciting too! I can't wait to see some of the reviews.

Saw omalleys post about just booking and I can't believe only CAT 5's and lower are all that is available. Boy am I glad we booked when we did. I thought I picked an off time of year - but with the ship being new I guess it will be pretty full.

We can't wait!!! :cool1:

Have you seen any you tube videos of the Dream.....so awesome!!!!! :cool1:

Omalley1118 and me are neighbors and our families will be traveling together.....we are soooo excited. :woohoo:

I can't wait for the MV of the Dream for we can see some actual photos for fellow disers. :thumbsup2
