Disney Dream - June 9, 2013 - 4 night

Disney is the best when it comes to handling food allergies! If you haven't been to WDW, plan to do so. They have the best chefs who truly understand and care to make you a safe and delicious meal. We go often so that our little girl can eat great food at a restaurant like everyone else. Plus, I get out of the kitchen for a week!

We will be in disney world for about a week before the cruise, and our first stop is Epcot so I'm ready to try all the food around the world! Last time I went, I didn't try any of the food, but focused more on rides. And I hear ya there! Haha (: I'm ready to enjoy myself and forget cooking and cleaning duties!

Check your private messages. I have some Epcot food allergy info. for you!

Does anyone know if I can arrange a massage for someone in another cabin and allow them to pick the time? In other words, I would love to gift a massage to my mom during this trip, but I don't want to pre-arrange a time for her (or type for that matter). I just want it to be a surprise.

Have you called DCL? What a nice gift!

Hello again fellow DISers! On previous cruises with other companies when we do the online check in it has tags for us to print and place on our luggage. I noticed that Disney did not have that. When will we get those to make sure that our luggage gets to our room?

:tinker:

We should get them along w/ our cruise documentation about a month before the cruise.

Does anyone know if we can ship our Fe gifts ahead of time to the ship? I have shipped stuff to our hotel for a private party at Epcot before. It was very helpful!

I meant to answer that earlier and I forgot. Yes, I believe you can ship things to the ship ahead of time. I'm trying to remember where I saw the information. I'll put my swiss cheese brain on it and see if I can remember. Have you tried looking at the FAQ section of the Disney website?

I've been debating on shipping our FE's to the hotel or port... This is what I've found for shipping to port: (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966&highlight=shipping+address+for+port+canaveral)

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
" ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
" The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
" The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
" NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
" The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
" Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Dream (Saturday).
" Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Dream (Sunday).
" Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Dream (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Thanks so much for all of the info. I think that I'll just pack them, because I'm going to need extra space for the FEs we receive and the stuff from the "Get it Shop". Our daughter thought that that was the name of the gift shop in the Contemporary hotel when she was 4 yrs. old. We still call all gift shops just that.
Can't wait for Star Wars weekend and the cruise!!

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have that space in my suitcase as well!!! Love that you call the gift shops "Get it Shop"...

It's been 3 years since my daughter and I have had a Disney vacation. I have never been so excited about a vacation as I am this year!

I think that not visiting often makes it more special. We go a lot due to our daughter's food allergy and that she can eat everywhere there. Okay, have you started to organize your packing list yet? I love the organizing and planning just as much as the trip! Call me crazy, but it's true.
This is funny... I was a teacher and had a pair of hamsters named... Ham and Cheese. When they went on to greener pastures, we got, "Peanut butter and Jelly" :joker:
Hang in there, only 1 month 17 days!!!

Hi all!! Have updated the spreadsheet with allergies and new peeps. If you sent me your email address, I just sent the updated one to you. If you sent me your email address and didn't get it, please send again. Had bad front end and back end flu bug going through the house. . .yuk. So didn't get to tend to much work or leisure via email for a few days and I might have missed you. Hope this means we'll all be healthy for the cruise. If you'd like to share your names or want the spreadsheet, email me at kstuart@craincaton.com. I have had a blast making my gifts. I need to get back to it and finish up. Time is flying by!!!

Question for the veterans. When I booked, I told them it was Becca's bday. She's turning 16. The very happy and perky agent on the phone said, and I quote, they'd do something "super spectacular" and inform our waiters. Any clue what they do or if there is something special I can do in advance?

My hubby got a special dessert for his birthday in the dining room and possibly a signed photo card from Mickey? I think even for our wedding anniversary we got a special dessert and they also put two towel swans on our bed that night with a card. I think the desert was okay, but we actually preferred the other desserts off the menu! I think there was also a celebration button.

Have you seen the birthday celebration cakes that come with a huge banner in the room, a huge Disney Happy Birthday door magnet, etc.? We bought the package last trip so that our daughter could have a dairy free cake to keep in the room. Look at the in room shopping tab on the DCL site. You can choose from all sorts of flavors, etc. They aren't all dairy free, we just ordered one that way. It was pretty cute! We ended up using the b'day decorations on another FE member's door. Their little boy loved it. Here's a picture of the cake...

Only thirteen days until we close Fish Extender group. If you are lurking and still pondering, please let us know so we can include you in our group. We have some very creative folks working on fun surprises, but I know we all need time to ensure we are done for the cruise. Hope you will join in our fun. We plan to close the FE list on May 7th. Cheers!

I have to have 3 more posts to respond to messages! Ordered my fish extender yesterday. Totally excited about checking something else off the list! I am confused about the kid activities. Do the kids hang with parents during the day and do the kids club at night? How does it work? Thanks for the help.....

The kid clubs are open from early am until late pm. You can drop them off when the need arrives. I believe that they are open until 12:00am. Our daughter crashes at around 10:00 from the fun on board. Everyone kind of figures out what's best for them. We use the clubs for Palo brunch and Palo dinner. Others may use it less or more often. There will be an "open house" on the first day. You can visit w/ your children, sign them up, and get their wristbands. We like to hang out on sea days at the pool. Mid afternoon, we take her to the kids club and go to one of the adult lounges and have a drink and eat decadent snacks. On that note, the desserts at the adult lounges are insanely delicious!

Our oldest two will both be able to hit the Tween club and I hear they will want to hit open house first day to get to know others and help with program planning. They can come and go here.
Our younger ones we will check in/ out of kids club and I put both of you down to be able to check our younger one out!
