Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Where do folks go to set up one of those countdown tickers that is on a DCL Name Tag? I really like them!

If you are talking about the DCL Name Tag ticker like the one in my signature, I got it from www.**************. They have other types of tickers also.

Subtle changes to the pictures: with solid or faded border (and the right date).

I would be happy to try other things if anyone has anything else in mind.

For those watching the superbowl, enjoy. :cheer2: We are trying to make superbowl tshirts with one of the great DISigns that I found.

I love the logo! Can you make one inside an oval or circle instead of a rectangle?

School was closed again today due to snow & ice. This makes 5 days in the past two weeks!

Our superintendent has told us that we are applying for a state waiver to only make up the two days that were originally in our schedule. But he also made it clear that the waiver applies only to students -- all faculty are expected to make up lost work time. It looks like I have at least 3 Saturdays at school coming somewhere in the near future. Please let them deem the roads okay for tomorrow. It's not supposed to get above freezing until sometime Thursday afternoon.

I need a sunny day on a beach!

you and me both Holly!!
but I bet school will be back on tomorrow, even the roads in our subdivision look pretty clear and dh said he didn't really have any trouble getting home.

sigh 4 months and 3 days....

I just saw this post on facebook. "Families are loving the Enchanted Art program on the new Disney Dream, and are having fun playing the interactive detective game throughout the ship. What's your favorite family activity on a Disney ship?"

I can't wait to see that and all the other cool stuff. 5 days won't be enough. Guess I will just need to skip sleeping. :rotfl2:

So here is a question to try to find out more about each other: What's your favorite family activity onboard?

Ours was pirate night. The kids love it when I dress up with them. We were lucky last time because we were also there on Halloween, so we dressed up and went trick-or-treating with them around the ship. We can't wait to try this and the Aquaduck and the Goofy golf.

Hi
I was checking today and the Dream is all sold out for June 2011!!! You can't book a room on the Dream for the whole month!! It's gonna be a FULL boat on our June 12, 2011

We also love pirate night. We all have costumes (actually, I probably need to see what the boys have outgrown), and I think my parents may dress up, too.

I think my boys will enjoy the Detective Game with the Enchanted Art, and we are all looking forward to the Aquaduck. I knew my dad would be excited about the Aquaduck -- but I was a bit surprised when my mom mentioned wanting to try it. The boys are also excited to try Goofy Golf with their Papa.

Wondering if this means no chance of getting an upgrade??

I thought some of you might appreciate the logic of an eleven year old ...

Our oldest son was the Geography Bee winner for his elementary school and advanced to the district competition. (If you have never heard of a Geography Bee, it is very similar to a spelling bee -- just lots of random social studies questions to answer rather than words to spell. It is sponsored by National Geographic.)

Justin did very well and made it to the final round as a top ten finisher. After answering a lot of fairly tough questions about things like world religions, national park systems, populations of foreign countries, and other bits of random trivia ... you will not believe the question that knocked him out of the competition. It was in the geographic analogies round.

"Memphis is to Tennessee, as Anchorage is to _______ ."

I had been holding my breath on each question, but when I heard this one I breathed a sigh of relief. And then I caught the look in his eyes. Bless his heart, he had gone totally blank. I could see the wheels turning in his head because he wanted to get an answer out before his 15 seconds expired, and he finally blurted out "Florida.":sad2:

Here's the part that made me smile ... When I asked him after the competition about that question, he said he was just trying to use word association so that he could answer something and hope the right answer would come to him. Here was the logic he came up with: Anchorage makes me think of anchors, anchors makes me think of ships, ships go on cruises, we get on the cruise ship in Florida.

I told my DH that we maybe we should have gone on an Alaskan cruise instead.:confused3

Too funny! My husband and I laughed out loud. Great job on him for making it to district!:yay: You must be so proud. I know I would be!!

Has anyone seen this thread? Is contains pictures of the obstruction.

It seems there are some verandahs, even mid-ship, on various decks that have partially obstructed views.

I hope none of you have any of the affected rooms. I think my room may be affected (5158) but I have the advantage of having the extended verandah.
