Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Ahhhhh, back to reality and the daily grind. It sounds like everyone had a nice holiday weekend. We were busy every day too, but it made it seem like an actual holiday, not just a weekend. We have 11 days until our next Disney cruise, so most of my time lately has been taken up with getting everything we need in order so we can go. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and a great (short) week! :grouphug:

Lucky you! I wish I had another cruise that soon. Have tons of fun!

We drove down to San Antonio to stay at the Hyatt Hill Country for our three day weekend. Took in Sea World, Natural Bridge Caverns and a lof of circling of the lazy river at the Hyatt. Love that they have a drive-through Tiki hut for all kinds of drinks! :goodvibes

Hey everyone!

I just released a cat 8C cabin for this sailing if anyone was looking for an oceanview...I believe the cabin we had was able to sleep 5.

Anyhow, we've decided to do the 11 night So. Caribbean Christmas:santa: cruise this year instead and see the Dream (or Fantasy) in 2012 or 2013. I just couldn't pass up 11 glorious nights on a Disney cruise! Plus we did Christmas on the Magic last year and just loved it!

So you can remove my family from the roll call. I hope you all have a great time!:thumbsup2

We had a nice Labor Day too. My parents came. Played tennis, went to the pool, visited the Corn maze, cooked lots of yummy food, and went shopping! I go back to work in 2.5 weeks, so I'm trying to enjoy the last of my "recuperating" time.

The kids have finished 4 weeks of school already. Going to the Alabama/Penn St game this weekend (we are Bama Alumni and have season tickets). Roll Tide!

Have a great week, y'all!

Good golly! I can't say that I blame you!!! We enjoyed Christmas on DCL one year. It's SO beautiful!! Have a wonderful, magical, glorious cruise!!!!

This is such a great thread and a fun group of people, I know you all will have a great time and I am sure I will be wishing I was with you come next June! But I am also looking forward to a "Magical" Christmas this year! Take care...:goodvibes

Looks like quite a bunch of us here - my DD13 and I have convinced DH that a Disney cruise is a MUST this summer!!!! We are very excited that we're on the DREAM, and can't wait to see how it is different from the Wonder...DD and I did a Land/Sea in 2007.

We do not have a cabin#, just a 4B GTY.

Nice to get acquainted with everyone - June is right around the corner, right? ;)

:welcome: mousecrazy55. Glad that you and your family will be joining us.

Wow:cool1: it's terrific to see how many of us "disers" are booked for this cruise. Now that the kids are back in school, our cruise date is going to come quick. I love the excitement of counting down, planning, waiting, and dreaming about the vacation that is just around the corner. My kids can't wait, and neither can I:cloud9:

We had a great time at telethon and all considered it a success! This week at work seems so weird. I kept thinking yesterday was Monday. I am going to a conference on Down Syndrome tomorrow and Friday, so it was a short week with the kids. However for DD, we have a band barbeque dinner before a home game on Friday, then a parade to march in on Saturday and practice from 1:30-8:00. I just keep thinking... "One more week of work until Disney... One more week of work until Disney!" Hoping I can get some rest and get packed!

Thanks for the welcome, Abitagirl! I see we're neighbors - (Louisiana for you, Texas for me)!
Eventually, I will have to find a countdown ticker to add to my signature - in fact, I guess I need to MAKE a signature, don't I?
Hope time flies by!

Where in Texas do you live? I'm in Abita Springs, Louisiana, which is about 50 miles north of New Orleans. Go Saints!!!

My countdown tickers are from **************, but I'm sure there are a lot of others, too.

I'm with you---I hope the time flies by. Can't wait to see the Dream in person! It looks beautiful in all of the pictures.

sounds like our week!! Tonight is Connor's middle school football game, then Friday night's high school game as been switched to Saturday afternoon because of the "Friends of Coal Bowl" being played on Friday night in Huntington. It's an annual football game between WVU and Marshall University. Then on Sunday is the Putnam County Homecoming Parade...which they are predicting rain for. blah. OH! AND, as the WVU Marching Band heads to Huntington on Friday, they are stopping at our High School to perform for the school. All 375 marching members! In return, we have to feed them lunch! YIKES! It will be crazy and hectic, but I SO look forward to watching them perform!! It is AWESOME!!!!!

Steve and I got the new Droid X yesterday. Love it, but I am so not a techno geek and am having to ask the boys, who don't even have a droid, to help me! LOL Kids know how to work every phone, I swear! It's quite a bit bigger than my Blackberry, but I guess I'll get used to that....and might need it as my eyes age! LOL

Time to get moving...need to stop and pick up the 17 cases of donated water and get it to the school to be iced down for tomorrow. Then it's making sandwiches for the football team, pick up Colton from band practice and back to Connor's game!

Make it a Dream of a Day!!!

I'm glad the telethon was a success. Good luck packing. I have a friend that insists everyone should be packed by the 14 day countdown. I do well to get to bed the night before a trip!

Good luck on the new droid. I just went from a blackberry to an iphone 4 so that I can only carry one thing, vs. carrying my bb and my ipod touch. Thankfully, my older son has a 3GS so he's been very helpful.

I work a 50 hour + week, getting to work right after 6 in the morning, have an hour commute each way, have kids in football, soccer and martial arts between Dallas and our home, so life can get pretty busy too. I've been told that one day I'll miss all the chaos but I really find that hard to believe right now. :rotfl: This weekend we have a soccer game, heart walk, birthday party, helping a friend move, Church and a Texas Rangers baseball game this weekend.

Make it a good weekend everyone!

Happy Friday Everyone!!! It's a great day! My Saints beat Bret Favre and the Vikings last night!!!! :cool1::banana:Who Dat!! :yay:
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Hi Everyone!! Hope everyone had a great week and the weekend holds something fun for you!! My girls are headed to NASA this weekend for their cookie money trip, they are really excited! My aunt is in town and can't wait to visit with her!
We are drying out here in the Dallas area, omg we have had more rain then we've had in quite awhile! now the rain is replaced by insane humidity! it's just sticky outside! soo soo ready for fall! lol

Hey Rose, have you eaten at Heid's? I saw it on Man vs Food the other night and really wish we'd been able to stop in when we were there! Next time it's on my food list!! :woohoo:

Yes, I have. Great hot dogs!
That man is insane! How many did he eat?

Everyone sounds like they did a lot of fun things this past weekend:thumbsup2

I'm off again this weekend to Saratoga for a wine and food fest, so I'll have to catch up again later when I'll be back to work next week and done from vacationing for the year.

Glad this thread is still moving!:goodvibes

We live about 50 miles north of Dallas in Sanger, TX. We'll fly out of DFW airport.
Thanks for the tip on the ticker - I'll check that out - don't know if I want to start it yet, or wait a little longer. (Like it will make it seem faster if I don't watch the ticker each day, right?)
I keep checking the website to see if they have posted menus or new info - it will be fun to see the video of it leaving Germany!
