Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

I'm glad to hear all of the good starts of school. With each thing that passes, we are that much closer to the cruise. :cool1:

I went to the doctor today to get my ankle looked at. I sprained it 8 weeks ago and it still hurts. They stuck me in a walking boot for a month. Ligaments and tendons stretched too much and needed to be immobilized. Hopefully it heals quickly so I can start exercising.
Progress report on the diet: I've lost 10 lbs and DH has lost 15 lbs. I'm happy with the slow steady progress. Still alot to lose.

Waiting for DD to get through with first night of dance class for the school year.

Have a great week.

Way to Go on the weight loss:banana: I have only loss 6lbs:confused3 its tuff but hang in there :grouphug:

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!

Getting closer and closer! Labor Day weekend is upon us! Another holiday to check off before the cruise!

DMMom, I hope your ankle gets better soon. How awful. I had trouble with my ankle/foot a few years ago. Physical Therapy did the trick for me. Every once in a while it still bothers me, but a few learned stretches and it's usually ok again.

Connor has his first official middle school football game today. He is on the JV team as starter for both offense and defense. I thought he might be bummed that he is on JV and not Varsity, but he said if he made Varsity he wouldn't get as much play time. So true! GO REDSKINS!!!

Not much else going on here...just band and football, band and football, and homework! LOL

This has been the hottest summer in Charleston, WV in 67 years! and I think it was the 6th hottest on record. I guess if I can take this summer, I can take living in FL, GA or the Carolinas! I know on a few days, it was actually cooler in WDW than here in WV. Just crazy.

Aside from Connor's game tonight, we also have the Ohio State and Marshall game. Hhmmm.....I grew up in Ohio, so GO BUCKS!!! but Marshall is just 20 mins down the road, so GO HERD! No favorites tonight...except the Redskins!!

Everyone have a great, safe, enjoyable weekend! Steve is working, so no big plans for us. The boys and I will be just hanging out. Maybe a movie? Go-karts? Have to think about that.....

Wishing you all a Dream of a weekend!

Hello everyone.

The only plans we have for the Labor Day Weekend is a family dinner at my brother's house. My 2 sisters, my brother and myself and our families along with my Dad (who is coming in from Pensacola, FL) will be getting together for dinner on Saturday. We try to all get together every 2-3 months for dinner at one of our houses.:grouphug: Other than that, no plans except the fact that I am off of work on Monday!!!:yay:

How many more holidays until the cruise?? That's a good way to countdown. Because 283 days seems so far away!

Have a great weekend!!!

Good evening all. Sadly typing this only because my DS goes back to school tomorrow. :teacher: The end of summer vacation has arrived. But I told him today not to be too sad. The sooner school starts the sooner we get to our next Disney cruise. We will leave for Florida on what will be his last day of school this year...well technically next year.

Atlantis: Took of poll this week of a few friends who went to Atlantis on actual vacations there this past year, and each of them said that Atlantis isn't worth $400 for the day especially when my DD would not be tall enough to go on any of the water slides. I'd have to split up from DH so he could take DS on everything. So we have decided to stay on the ship in Nassau and just enjoy what will hopefully be an empty ship. Maybe we'll spend some time booking our next cruise on that day. :cool1:

So ? regarding FEs...did I miss where there are no more Fish to hang the FEs from, but Mickey heads instead. I thought I read in a previous post something about Mickey heads. :confused3

That is what we're doing too, but somehow I doubt that the ship will be empty. Especially for previous cruisers on DCL. Many know not to bother to get off at Nassau. Sadly for us, but probably true.

I love new Disney Dream Picture day!!!:lovestruc:lovestruc it always makes me even more excited!

I hope everyone has a great 3 day weekend! I'm super thrilled, my brother is coming down to visit me! :woohoo: I haven't seen him in quite awhile so this is going to be a great weekend! We are having friends over for a cookout on Saturday and i'm going to use them as guinea pigs for my pie contest practice! :rolleyes1 The weather here in north Texas is just wonderful today!! I you all have great weather for your weekend!!
Happy Labor Day!

Have a great holiday weekend. DD and I will be working the Jerry Lewis Telethon here in Atlanta. This will be my 33rd telethon. Please watch and donate if you can. I would love to have them find a cure. Then I could actually have a Labor Day off! Lol! Just hoping we can stay awake. We had to fly last Friday to Illinois for my Grandpa Peter's funeral and flew back sunday so that I could be back at work and Taylor back to school. With all the band prActices until 8:00 and the 1st football game tonight, we are beat! Got to get rest sometime as we are going to WDW on 9/18!

Happy Labor Day everyone!!!

I'm really excited!! Not only do I get a 3 day weekend, but more important, we received our Passports yesterday! I have never had a Passport before, and now that I have received mine, it makes the cruise seem even closer. Our prior Disney cruise, we just used birth certificates. But this time I decided better safe than sorry because you never know if something could happen that would cause the need to fly back to the States. It would be much easier with a Passport.

I hope that everyone that has been and will be impacted by Hurricane Earl are doing well. Living in Southeastern Louisiana, I have experienced my share of Hurricanes.

Have a great weekend!!!

Happy Labor Day.

In-laws are visiting this weekend. So far, only plan is to rent a boat on Monday to go boating on the lake.

Dreaming of magical days!

Happy Labor Day! I'm spending most of the weekend working on Halloween decorations. Fun stuff!

Sorry to hear about your ankle:sad2:, but congrats on the weight loss!:thumbsup2:cool1:

Hope your ankle heals quickly and completely. Congratulations on the weight you and your DH have lost so far. I keep saying I need to lose weight before the cruise, but so far have not done anything about it. Maybe I'll start soon.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Me too!;)

Cool! Now you can go all kinds of places!:cool1:

Happy early Labor Day everyone!

We're off tomorrow morning to go camping for 4 days in the Adirondacks..... more specifically Whiteface mountain region.

Haven't camped in many many moons, but BF loves the outdoors and I love my Disney vacations so I have to go along with his trip ideas every now and then too. I do think it will be fun though.... at least it won't be so incredibly hot!

I've researched lots of campfire cooking so we're not just doing the same old hamburgs and hot dogs.

We've got foil packs of veggies and beef and chicken, chili and cornbread, pizza pitas, omelets in a bag, stuffed apples, banana boats (can't wait to try these! slicing open a banana, inserting choc chips, marshmallows etc and wrapping in foil to grill for 5 minutes.... yum!)..... etc....etc.... etc....

Oh, and the big jug I have of daiquiri mix, pina colada mix with coconut rum and a few bottles of wine

I'm also downloading some scary campfire stories to play on my mp3 player while we're sitting by the fire at night with our drinks in hand:woohoo:

So everyone have a great holiday and I'll be back at the end of the week, although then we're off again to go to the Saratoga Wine and Food classic!:yay:

Sounds delicious and very creative!!

My theory is that Disney fans are more creative. The love of Disney helps adults maintain their imagination and keeps us young at heart.

Weather is not cooperating today. No boating: winds too strong. Thinking of other things to do.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!

Not much going on here. Connor has football practice at 4. He didn't have practice on Friday though, which was nice so we could go to the away High School game.

The weather has been PERFECT the last few days! Cool mornings, warm days. Just wish I could find some place to live where it was like this all the time! LOL

The only laboring I plan on doing today is putting away laundry and stitching on a button! Easy day.....

Have a dream of a day!!!

Totally know how you feel...when we got our first passports for our cruise last year the wife and I were excited and just kept telling DD8 she had no idea how lucky she was getting a passport at age 7...I didn't even know what a passport was when I was 7

I can't believe the weekend is over. We ended up going to Pella Iowa today to see a working Dutch windmill and the gardens. I went last year for the tulip festival. It was much prettier then, but the summer/fall flowers are still pretty. My in-laws love historical sight seeing, so they were happier doing that then they would have been going boating.

Hope everyone else had a nice Labor Day weekend.

I know. The weekend (although a 3-day one) went by really fast. But it was an enjoyable one. Spent time with my brother and sisters and their families on Saturday and did a lot of nothing for the other 2 days. Right now I am enjoying watching my Saints win Super Bowl 44 all over again. It's being replayed on NFL Network.

Geaux Saints!!! Two-Dat!!!

Your menu sounds great. I used to make banana boats every summer in scouts. Thanks for reminding me about them, I'll have to make them before the summer is totally over. Let us know how it turned out when you get back.

My weekend was nice. I did some scrapbooking (of a Disney trip, of course)
and went to see Avatar the director's cut 3D Imax with DH and DS. Back to work tomorrow.
