Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

We just booked our cruise! :yay: I wish it would be here sooner!

Laura, sorry for not popping on sooner and welcoming you, but I will get you added to our first page. Welcome to the party! :goodvibes

Every time I see someone post BLT on these boards I forget about Bay Lake Towers and want a BLT sandwich:rotfl2:

LOL - someone over on the DVC boards (a BLT owner) actually has a signature that says something like "Experiment 626 finally made a sandwich I couldn't refuse." I chuckle every time I see her post because that is so stinkin' clever. :rotfl2:

So, I started a thread (one was started yet) for our cruise date and mentioned that we also have a group on here and gave out our link.
So we may gain some new friends:grouphug:

My link on there is http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1171859

How cool! I would love a ship full of DISsers!

Anyone ever gone straight from the cruise to a partial day at the parks? Wouldn't be there when the park first opens, but fairly close :confused3

I think that if you are fairly realistic about what you can get accomplished, I think that you will be okay. Since it will be summer, the parks will be crowded, but if you know that going in you should have a good day. :thumbsup2

As to us, DD had a great birthday party on Saturday. We had 9 kids at our house and the weather was perfect. We did a water balloon toss, the limbo, and we colored sugar and did some sand art (which was a huge hit). DH also made (I already hear you laughing, my dear Ana) a volcano which was another huge hit with the kids. Since the weather was so great, the kids spent a lot of time outdoors and hopefully went back to their parents nice and exhausted. One thing I wasn't prepared for, though, was that the parents of 2 kids that I invited from DD's class (whom I have never met or even seen) just dropped their kids off at the house and left to do other things while their kids were at the party. Maybe I'm too overprotective, but I don't think that I could ever leave my DD with complete strangers without at least first talking to the parents for an hour or so. Still, all in all, it was a fun party. I think, though, that this will be the last time that I host a party at the house for a while - - it was exhausting!! After the kids went home, we hung out with our very good friends and busted out the adult beverages and I was so exhausted by the end of the night, I think I passed out around 9:00 p.m. :headache:

Another :headache: moment came on Sunday night when DH went down to our basement to run on the treadmill and realized that our water heater was leaking all over our nice, newly installed tile floors. :headache::headache: So, today, we are going to have to buy and install a new water heater. It's always something, right?!? Thankfully, we caught the leak very early in the process and I think that the flooring will be fine - - which is a good thing.

Well, that's enough for now. I hope that everyone is having a good week so far. :grouphug:

So the district just posted the 2010-2011 school calendar. Last day of school is Thursday June 2 with only 1 snow day built in. This year was 5 snow days. I guess this mostly makes up my mind: WDW after the cruise. I'm not going to count on a mild winter. We will fly in Saturday and stay at the port. Next decision: where to stay after. My parents have always let us use their points for a week, so I'm not sure we can get partial time.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!!
We have done this with USO. We left the ship at the first all clear...skipping breakfast even. It was very sad. LOL But we left, took the shuttle to the rental car place and straight to The Royal Pacific. Checked in and was to the park I think, by 10am. We did well!! We'll, most likely, go to the parks after the cruise as well. We still have 5 days of park hopper. My guess is that we'll use our timeshare in Orlando, but we'll see. We keep saying we are going to sell it, but we haven't yet. Yet we continue to book onsite! Crazy. We never should have bought it. I was ready to walk away, he signed on. Oh well.... lesson learned. So, unless there's a good food deal or something, we'll probably to with the condo. I figure my inlaws might stay as well....although my BIL always rents a house, so they may stay there, who knows.

Life is crazy for us right now, with track season in full swing. Our Spring Break starts Friday. Colton, 15, is leaving on Monday to go to USO with the High School Marching Band. I SO wish I was going to be there with him, but we can't. I hope my umbilical cord can stretch that far! LOL I might just have to be in a Prozac Coma to make it through the week with being so far away.

Well, I better get moving...have to potty the neighbor's dog, get gas in the truck, pick up Connor from school, run him home to change, back to the high school for the track meet, leave there to go to the football meeting at the middle school, drop Colton at the girl friend's house, back to the meet, and if he's competed, I'll take Connor to his lifting class, if not we'll stay at the meet, then back to get Colton and HOME. I guess I better plan on grabbing some food in there somewhere too, huh?

Have an awesome night!!!!

We just booked our cruise! :yay: I wish it would be here sooner!

It will be me (Laura), husband Jeff, and our daughters Emma (8) and Ella Cate (5). This will be our third Disney cruise but our girls' first! Can't wait!!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary while on board. :lovestruc

I know I'm a little late: but Welcome!!! It will be me (Tammy) and my daughter (Rachel, 21). This is our second Disney Cruise. We are really excited and looking forward to it. Although I agree: I wish it was sooner!!

Hi Tammy! Thanks for the welcome! I think I may have found my new addiction. We go to WDW about three times a year and I wouldn't have a problem changing to cruising if it wasn't so expensive. :wizard:

Hope everyone is well. Celebrating DS 3rd birthday this week.

In case you have not seen it wanted to post the link to a picture of half our dream ship from the Disney Blog

In the middle is the new Disney Parks Chairmen Tom Staggs

Spring Break starts today! Kids have a half day, then they are done for the next week. Have to start getting Colton's things together for his big trip!

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter!

Anyone else get their cruise planning booklet thing? It was nice to get something from DCL, even if the cruise is still a year and a 2 months away.

Can I join you????

Just moved a previous reservation to June 12th 2011, and so excited to join you all. I was hoping to find a thread...wow!

What info do you need from me? Let's see...at the time of sailing it will be myself and my hubby along with our 2 kids - DD 13 and DS 11. This will be our 4th Disney Cruise, and first time with a veranda, cabin 7062.

We are from Los Angeles, CA. I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread...but I will!

Wonderful to meet you and and get to know everyone!

We got one. I was so excited to read it. Hopefully they will continue to share information about the new ship as the year goes on.

We got our's on Friday too! I would also like to fast forward to 2011!! I would very much like a ride on the Mickey Boat right now!!!!!

Welcome squirrelgirl and family!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

We didn't get any kind of cruise planning booklet. I wonder if it is because we are booked with a TA?

We got ours too! DD liked looking through the porthole window on the folder. Ahhh, can't wait until its a real porthole we're looking through!

I wonder if it is because we are booked with a TA?

I don't think it'll make a difference since we are booked with a TA through DreamsUnlimited....maybe you'll get yours on Monday. There's not anything in there that is that important. They do list your date that you can start booking things and the final payment date, but other than that, I didn't see anything in the booklet that you wouldn't find else where.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Easter bunny came early and delivered Princess & the Frog and Alvin & the Chipmunks 2, so the kids were busy. A day of church, cooking, eating, and cleaning the kitchen after each meal.

I made homemade chicken & noodles. Never made them before. My grandma always made them for me. Since we couldn't be home with family, I decided to try it. Not as good as hers, but everyone said they liked it.

For dessert, brownies and vanilla ice cream. Hopefully I can start my diet and exercise tomorrow. Cruise is still 14 months, but I have quite a ways to go to get in shape.

Have a magical week.

Yours will probably be in today's mail. :goodvibes

That sounds really good. We actually attempted a white chocolate covered ham. It sounds really disgusting, but the white chocolate actually added the sweetness to the ham - - it was surprisingly a success. :goodvibes

Welcome to squirrelgirl -- I will get you added to the first page. :cheer2:

We got a new addition to our family on Saturday - a little kitten. He is the sweetest little thing -- he loves attention, has a great personality, and loves my DD. We rescued him and he's not the cutest little thing, but his personality more than makes up for his looks. :rotfl:

Hi. We did the same thing - moved a previous reservation (from summer 2010) to this one. My DD will be 13 at sailing too (turning 14 - 2 weeks later) This will be her "birthday cruise". It will be our 7th Disney cruise (#6 will be maiden voyage of Dream in Jan). We love the veranda and I think that we may be down the hall. I have to double check our room number. We should hook the girls up on email before the trip. She loves to meet and chat with fellow Disney friends. we are in Jacksonville, FL.

Welcome Aboard!!

I joined a bit ago and I still haven't read the entire thread yet, but I'm planning on it as well.

We just have another cruise in a few weeks so I'm spending more time getting ready for that one, then I'll dive into this one more.

Lucky you! CA! I'd love to live there:goodvibes
