Disney Dream July 4, 2012

Yeah, I'm finally back! I've been locked out of the DIS boards...thought I may have had to make another logon, but I guess it's working. Anyways, I think we want to do the Atlantis Dolphin Excursion...I think we can book in 4 days...yippee!

Good news -- there were four different options, but all look to have availability. Granted, this is for two adults, so if you have more people or if they have restrictions on kids, you may not see the same thing. Still, here's what's there now.

Atlantis Dolphin Cay Deep Water Swim & Aquaventure: 9:00 AM

Atlantis Dolphin Cay Deep Water Swim & Discover Atlantis: 10:45 AM

Atlantis Dolphin Cay Shallow Water Interaction & Aquaventure: 9:00 AM

Atlantis Dolphin Cay Shallow Water Interaction & Discover Atlantis: 10:45 AM & 1:15 PM

Good luck, hope you get the one you want!

This is my second try getting on this board. Hope i have better luck this time. Any way time is flying will be on board the dream early on the 4th. Leaving Maryland a day early and will chill in cocoa beach for a day. Our crew consists of me, dear wife granny, nurse becky and suoper 7yr grandson. He was wondering if any other kids in his age group will be sailing with us.
Regards to all on this board. Stay well
cheers,
Ducks Quck

Hi Ducks Quck,

My DS is 6. I'm sure they will love to meet up in the oceaneers club/lab.

Hi all!!! We will be joining all of you for this summer break!

I am traveling with my hubby and 15 year old daughter (she will be 15 1/2 on this cruise)

We live in Omaha, Nebraska, and though we are landlocked - are avid cruisers (mostly RCL) This is my 2nd Disney cruise - the first on the Wonder back in 2001. We will be spending 5 days at WDW prior to the cruise and are looking forward to the huge activity of WDW, and relaxing on the ship after!

Hi tgreencreatemem! Glad to see you will be cruising with us. How exciting!

Just did online check in. Can board between 11 and 11:30 so that makes me happy!

What is everyone doing in Nassau? We have been before and don't have any strong desire to do anything in particular.

Hi - me too! We booked the Shallow Water Dolphin Encounter at Atlantis.

Does anyone know how/when you get charged. I just booked it, but have no idea how this whole process works. Do I need to call DCL?

Thanks!

Yay! Glad you got the one you wanted. I don't believe you get charged (and it's to your shipboard account) until you get to the ship, but I'm not positive on that.

We are also checked in!

We only booked one port activity for the trip. Clint and I are both SCUBA certified and will be doing the dive trip at Stuart Cove. It's where all the Discover Channel people go (Mike Rowe, Mythbusters, etc) when they are filming shark/underwater specials.

Very fun! My husband has done his course work for his Scuba certification, but couldn't do his final dives before fall hit due to a ear infection. He was hoping to get it finished before this cruise but not sure if he will have time to finish up. I hope he can, the whole point was so he could dive next cruise!

Sounds fun for scuba diving. I will have to wait for the kiddos to get bigger. I'm getting so excited!

annetria u may already know this but if not i wud feel bad for not giving u a heads up.
you can pre register you daugs and son for the kids club and save time by not having to do it at the port. After you log into DCL go to tha place where u pull up your reservation put in number and birthday. when that comes up go to my cruise activities and go to bottom of page. in small letters near left side will be access to prereg kids for the kids clubs. daug nurse becky did it and if the system works u can go directly to the clubs and pick up kids wrist bands hope this works for u.

times flying here is what we have planned
nassau atlantis Dolphin Shallow Water = 10:45 annetria what time is ur res.
be neat is the kids cud meet up.
castaway cay two over 60s going para sailing and nurse backy and son doing the sting ray thing.
on last disney cruise we did the glass bottom boat in nassau _save ur money!
this is my third attempt to post if this doesn't fly no more.
all stay well
cheers,
ducks quack
ps someone asked here's answer shore excursions and adventures will be billed to your on board bill = otherwise known as your drink and sink bill

oh awesome! that is the same time we booked the excursion...i think they will have fun doing that! thanks for the info on the kids clubs; i still need to do that.

tgreencreatemem, That's too bad about the ear infection. I'm guessing he doesn't have too many places to SCUBA in Nebraska.

ducksquack, Maybe the change in servers is to blame for your disappearing posts. Some people are saying that the boards keep timing out on them and logging them out in the middle of sessions.

DisneyMom2B1G, Lucky! It's been 667 days since my last trip to Disney (yes, I have a sad reminder ticking away on my desktop).

Not too many places to scuba here. So he just has to wait until the water is warm enough here. Likely with our hectic spring and early summer schedule he won't be able to get it done until August. Though I am looking into the option of having it done while we are on the cruise. Just might not happen, there might not be enough time. Its fine - we cruise at least once a year - so maybe in time for the next cruise.

We are definitely getting more excited about the trip! We leave June 29 for WDW pre cruise.

Anyone traveling with teens? My daugher is 15 and a freshman in high school - anyone else bringing along similar aged kids?

Hi Cari hope all is well. You may have seen this but just in case. Was bumming around the boards this and the other one. read something at the beginning of some of the cruise forums by someone named Sticky. must be like the board police or something. his post said that DCL is not allowing people afix stuff to their stateroom door with tape or glue or otherwise sticky stuff that could pull the paint from doors. believe magnets are ok if u can find something that is magnetic for them to attach a fish extender fish to. I know u are putting a lot of work into this effort and would not want to c it be for nothing.

and for all six pages on dis boards way to go

all stay well and
cheers from
ducksquack

Me again just read that there are fish extenders already on stateroom doors or close by and who ever posted this encourages all to participate. the ship uses these to post notices and probably to dist navigators.
sorry bout all this or that

Hey, just to clarify on this -- yes, you are correct that the DIS has been asked to spread the word that sticky materials should not be used to affix materials to the doors. Magnets are fine. This is separate from the fish extender; this notice is for door decorations (see this post for ideas and graphics you can use: Door Decor). I haven't been on the Dream yet, but on the Magic and the Wonder, the fish is next to the door and is where they put invitations, thank you cards from Palo, and other miscellaneous communications from the ship. The fish extender hangs down from the fish and gives DIS participants more room to leave stuff. I believe the navigators are typically left in the room by your stateroom host. Hope this helps -- all this stuff seems a little confusing when you're just reading about it, but makes perfect sense once you get on board and actually see it :)
