Disney Dream January 21-23 2011

No docs in NY yet.....I hope tomorrow!!! I am so excited....we are not doing the FE but if anyone sees us please don't be shy and say hi!!! I am not great with remembering user names but would love to put some faces to user names on the Dis!!!

MJ

Finally received my docs. :yay::yay::yay: Strange though...I thought we pre-paid our gratuities but the docs don't say that. I'm looking for my receipt but.... IDK where it is. :confused3 Anyone know if that info is online? I can't seem to find it anywhere?

Got our docs yesterday!!! :woohoo:

Nothing about dress code so I think I am packing both. That way if we need to be dressy I'm prepared and if DH can dress like a bum it doesn't ruin our trip because I only packed him dress clothes.

I thought we paid tips already too? But I didn't book it so who knows?

:cheer2::banana::dance3: 8 DAYS!! :dance3::banana::cheer2:

Yes, I thought that we had pre-paid for gratuities... I guess you don't HAVE to do them even when you go on a regular cruise so that's why they are still making the suggestion?
I don't know if I dreamed about this... but I don't know why I thought we were disembarking @ 3:30pm on Sunday LOL. I guess in my mind I thought we would be in this ship at least for 48 hours.
We got our booklets, too and I'm a little disappointed at how "in a hurry" they seem to have put it. It seems kinda generic even though it had a different cover. What do you guys think? I would dare to say it even has grammatical errors on one pages at the beginning.
I looked at the weather forecast for Freeport (but I don't know how close that is to Castaway Cay) and it says high of 71, low of 51 :) Not bad...

I copied this from my receipt that I received via email:

Fare/Payment Information
Currency: Rates are in US Dollars
Cruise Fare: $750.00
Government Taxes & Fees: $112.75
Prepaid Gratuities: $72.00
Transfers: $0.00
Total Due: $934.75
Less Payments: $934.75
Balance Due: $0.00

It states we prepaid our gratities. Wish they had mentioned the dress code but I know I read it on the Cast Member site so my family is dressing up. Besides that since the 21st is my birthday I think they should dress up for me. We are all excited.
party:

So, we are only going to be able to try two out of the three rotational dining restaurants.

I saw on the main cruise board a thread with some of the Dream Menus but the photos were not the greatest quality. The only menu that was clear to read was the Enchanted Garden.

What restaurants are you hoping to dine in?

I am hoping with lunch / breakfast we will get to see all 3! :)

I respectfully disagree that we should be dressing up for you because it is your birthday. If you want to think that is why I am dressing up, I will let you though.

What error?

I want to dine in Enchanted Garden & Royal Palace. Even though Animator's is different, out of the three it's the one I'm least excited about.

I'm cutting DCL some slack here. I'm just thankful I'm on the ship - so many wanted to go. They are really "slammed" right now with all these preview cruises. I don't think any of them are getting any sleep. They are just trying to please everyone and get everything done. I know my office has worked overtime on logistics about the Christening cruise and the party for TA people at Magic Kingdom. I didn't even think we'd get a booklet so I'm pleased I got an Inaugural Benefit Booklet for a souvenir even if there is an error.

So strange.....The docs state we have to be onboard by 4pm but the email confirmation says we will be setting sail at 3:30pm. The email also stated that boarding will begin at 12:30 but I read somewhere else that it will start earlier at 11:30 because of the earlier sail time. IDK :confused3 I can't seem to get into my reservation right now to see what it says online.

Got our documents today:cool1: I plan to wear dress shirt with sport coat and tie for both nights. Hope we can dine in all 3 but we will be going again in May for a b2b 3 night and 5 night so really just want to get the layout of the ship down :thumbsup2 Looking foward to seeing you all around the ship.

I hope my eyes aren't failing me already, but I could swear the first paragraph of the welcome piece says "sail sail"... everyone is sleeping now and I can't find the booklets.
About dining... my daughter is dying to eat at the enchanted garden since it is Tinker Bell related. I can't believe that this restaurant is actually down on deck 2! The lighting must be phenomenal to make it look like a garden (that's what I've seen on pictures).
Yes, weather forecast so far seems to indicate low 70s for the high and mid 50s for the low!
I honestly tried to figure out what the FE is supposed to be (besides being fish extenders), but I don't get it. Can someone explain it? What does one have to do? I was wondering if my 5, 3, and possibly my 2 year old would be interested in participating... if that was still opened?

Ahh I see it now. It's not "sail sail" but it say "your pre-inaugural 2-night cruise cruise is about to begin" :rotfl:

I guess it doesn't matter about the misprint... what matters is that in 7 days we are boarding the Dream! Woohoo!!! :cool1:

:worship:

Thank you!

I've read the Doc's, and yes, there are a few errors.

But in one week, we will be on the Dream before pretty much anyone else! Appreciate what the company gives you and cut your fellow cast members some slack! There are a ton of people who wanted to be on this cruise but were denied...

Go!

Enjoy!

Relax!
