Disney Dream January 21-23 2011

I hope my eyes aren't failing me already, but I could swear the first paragraph of the welcome piece says "sail sail"... everyone is sleeping now and I can't find the booklets.
About dining... my daughter is dying to eat at the enchanted garden since it is Tinker Bell related. I can't believe that this restaurant is actually down on deck 2! The lighting must be phenomenal to make it look like a garden (that's what I've seen on pictures).
Yes, weather forecast so far seems to indicate low 70s for the high and mid 50s for the low!
I honestly tried to figure out what the FE is supposed to be (besides being fish extenders), but I don't get it. Can someone explain it? What does one have to do? I was wondering if my 5, 3, and possibly my 2 year old would be interested in participating... if that was still opened?

I saw the error too, but all in all, I thought the cruise book was nicely done. Who cares about the errors, We'll be on the DREAM IN A WEEK!!! WHOO HOO

As far as the FE, I've defined it in a previous post, so I just coppied my original definition below:
FE stands for Fish Extender. A fish extender is a fabric pocket organizer that is hung from the metal fish outside of your Disney Cruise Line stateroom door. The metal fish is used by DCL Cast Members to deliver letters to your stateroom. The pocket organizer hangs on the fish so it's called a "fish extender" or FE for short. There are directions on how to make a no-sew Fish Extender in the Frequently Asked Questions Thread on the first page of the DCL forum. I participated in an FE gift exchange on our last cruise. It was my first time participating in an FE gift exchange and it was fun finding little presents in the FE throughout our cruise! We delivered our presents the first night. It didn't take very long and it actually allowed us to explore the different floors on the ship.

So strange.....The docs state we have to be onboard by 4pm but the email confirmation says we will be setting sail at 3:30pm. The email also stated that boarding will begin at 12:30 but I read somewhere else that it will start earlier at 11:30 because of the earlier sail time. IDK :confused3 I can't seem to get into my reservation right now to see what it says online.

So that means we do the obvious thing and get there at 4am? Right? Just me? :upsidedow

The funny thing is that is will be me trying to talk my DH into sleeping until 8am and leaving at 9am!! :rotfl:

Thank you Meredisney for the clarification on the FE stuff. I guess one thing is an FE, and another an FE - GE ;)
So, the list that you guys have going is for the FE-GE?
I think I got a little carried away by posting such a hateful message about being disappointed with the booklet. I guess my problem is that I'm confused about so many things that have been said before vs what the booklet said? I think one of my first postings on this thread was that unfortunately nobody knows what to expect out of this sailing since it hasn't been done before and usually you can Google anything ;) (like my run-on sentence?).
I honestly am very grateful that we are setting sail in such a beautiful ship... new and on a sailing that I didn't even know it existed up until about a month ago. So, yes... time to pack :laundy: and get ready to have tons of fun! :woohoo:

Staying at Pop the night before, going on the cruise, then staying in Fort Wilderness Lodge the night we get back from the cruise, I AM SO EXCITED!! *we've never stayed in a deluxe before and this is our 1st cruise*

EDIT: Got cruise docs, yay!

:worship:

Thank you!

I've read the Doc's, and yes, there are a few errors.

But in one week, we will be on the Dream before pretty much anyone else! Appreciate what the company gives you and cut your fellow cast members some slack! There are a ton of people who wanted to be on this cruise but were denied...

Go!

Enjoy!

Relax!

very true!! One week!!

I find the typos funny anyways :rotfl:

We have two FEs going. You're right, the list is for the FE-GE. The other is small gifts for the Boys and Girls Club kids. We don't really have a list for that, whoever wants to bring some items for their gift bags are meeting in our room around 3:00.

Hi everyone, we too are on the preview cruise on Jan 21. We can't wait! :banana:There are 6 of us adults in 3 rooms ours is 7548. We dont want to join the FE exchange, but know that those of you that do will have a lot of fun.
If you have any more of the green bands, I would love to reserve 6 of them for us. Just let me know if that is possible, and where you would like me to meet you. Also, if whoever did the door magnet approves, I would love to use it for our doors. It is awesome and what a great keepsake!! :woohoo:

I am sure it will be a fun cruise, but alas, too short. My philosophy though is any Disney cruise, no matter its length, is better than no Disney cruise. See everyone next week!:yay:

Hi All

What do you think of this for a magnet to give out?

Just thought I would let anyone know who might be interested, that I sent an email to the person I booked the reservation with yesterday regarding the dress code:

We received our documents in the mail a couple of days ago and I did not see anything regarding the dress code. There seems to be some confusion regarding this among myself and some others I know that are going on this cruise. Is the requested dress code for dinner “dressier” than normal cruises, or will we be fine in our usual outfits for dinner (i.e., khakis and a nice shirt tucked in for my husband, and “resort” style or something similar for me)?

Sorry to bother you with us, we just want to make sure we bring the right items. We have both lost a bit of weight and will have to buy some new things…

Hi Michelle,

There is no formal night for this cruise because it is only a 2-night. Dress code is casual. The outfit descriptions you had given examples of are fine.

This is great news for us because now we don't have to go out and buy dress clothes to be worn one time. :)

6 DAYS TO GO!!! GUESS WE SHOULD START PACKING!!! :dance3:

:woohoo::yay::banana:

Just a reminder to anyone who wants to trade pins to put them on your "to go" pile !

I will be dropping off FE stuff for the BG's Club so if anyone wants we can meet there and setup a time to meet in regards to pins :3dglasses

See you all in 6 days:woohoo:

I am now finally, completely packed!!! I am so excited.:cool1::cool1: The weather looks iffy
but will keep my fingers crossed for Friday and Saturday.

Worked an early event this morning. My coordinator just got off the Dream. These are her "tidbits":

The ship is amazing - when they were docked at Nassau RC was docked next to them and she felt so sorry for them - the Dream is so imposing and beautiful she said. Can't wait!!

Only stayed on island for 1 hour as it was sooooooooo cold! All excursions were cancelled. They took pictures of the ship from the island and then reboarded quickly.

Her favorite restaurant of the 3 - Animator's and Royal equally and Enchanted was third. That surprised me. I thought it would be Enchanted 1st.
She said the mushroom risotto in Animator's is to die for - I love risotto. She said she gained 5 pounds in 3 days.

Spa/Rainforest is fabulous - the loungers aren't as warm as the ones on the Magic/Wonder - which disappoints me. I love a toasty, warm lounger but she was told that it isn't healthy for them to be too warm. I do remember reading that somewhere in a health magazine. Darn!

They dressed up the last evening just because they wanted to feel elegant on the new elegant Dream - you will see casual to dressy she said. Everyone to their own taste.

Some things aren't open yet (like golf, a club, etc.) but they are working hard to have everything 100% for the Maiden Voyage - don't you know those on the 26th are going to be in 7th heaven. I'm sure Disney will make it extra special.

She didn't want to get off and would go again in a minute. I think Disney has a big winner in the Dream. See you in 5 days!:woohoo::woohoo:

You know I didn't even know there was going to be mini golf until this week? :rotfl:

Aww she didn't happen to say which club wasn't open yet? I hope it's not Pink, that's the one I want to see the most. If it's not, then I guess that just gives me even more reason to try to get onboard again quickly ;)

I think it was Pink - but we'll be on more than a week later and the way those contractors are working I bet it will be done. I'm sure they're putting in extra hours to have everything ship/shape for the Christening and all those media/TA people. Let the fun times begin!

:yay::yay::yay: AHH I can't wait!!

Thanks for the intel nana! Can not wait for Friday!

Since we were packing, I decided to call the phone number for this event and they told me you can wear anything but shorts or bathing suits to dinner. Something tells me I am goingbto have to book another cruise to get my fix. I like 7 night cruises 'cause you can take your time doing things... maybe I should look into the Fantasy.:goodvibes

I've got to start packing tonight!

I'm planning to be at the terminal when it opens, and my husband and I will be wearing black and blue Tron shirts. I'm going to try to sit in the first couch area (closest to the Mickey door to the ship), so people can find me for bracelets!
