Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011!

So, just got off the phone with a very helpful CM. He confirmed the following for me:

Nights 1 and 4 are cruise casual
Night 2 - Nassau - is the dressy night
Night 3 - at sea - is Pirate Night

Which means I'm eating dinner at Remy then getting dressed as a pirate (or finding something very creative and dressy to wear for dinner!) (or being a pirate to enjoy early seating with our daughter, then being dressy, then being a pirate again...)

Oh well...at least our dinner ressie is early enough that I won't miss the fireworks.....

Does anyone know where and when we meet to get the lanyards? I saw it once and cannot find it any more. If we can't make the meeting, where do we get them?

thanks. Looking forward for our "Dream vacation":cheer2::cheer2:

Now that the holidays are over. Looking forward to the Maiden Voyage of the Disney Dream. My wife and I will be joining you fine folks! Spending a few days in the Animal Kingdom Villas before the cruise! Hoping for warm enough weather to enjoy the AquaDuck more than once!!! Is anyone even getting off the ship in Nassau?

We will be celebrating my wife Donna's birthday on this cruise.
The cruise is her birthday present ;)
I wonder if they will show the new Tron movie on the Dream in 3 D.
Not that there wont be a ton of great things to do anyway.
Just curious.
Looking forward to all the Disney shows as well.

We were on the Wonder a few weeks ago and Tron and Toy Story 3 (both in 3D) were playing. Tangled was also playing but I don't recall if it was in 3D.

Name Badge and Lanyard Pickup

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Everyone

Just a reminder - name badges and lanyards will be available at the following locations:

At Scott and Lynns BBQ at Key West on Tuesday, January 25.

At the terminal - I will get there fairly early - you will have to play "Where's Ken" to find me. It probably won't be to difficult - just ask the people with the special lanyards and name badges.

On Deck 12 - Starboard side (that's the ride side of the ship) - overlooking the Mickey and Donalds pools from 2:30 to 3:00pm - if it's raining, I will be on Deck 11, starboard side, between the two pools trying to stay dry.

If we can't connect in these places, you will have to call me in room 6554 and make arrangements for pickup.

Ken

Still time to participate in the free name badges and lanyards. I need first names of everyone in your sailing group.

Thank you all for the photos and youtube clips! I actually got weepy! What is wrong with me????

I've been so focused on this cruise recently that I forgot my balance is due for my Alaska trip in two days! YIKES

I still see it for a party of 2 adults on the first day at 7pm!
Call them and ask if you do not see it! good luck!

I'm on the phone with DCL now but I'm on hold. Keeping my fingers crossed.

This was posted earlier by kpros (post #3126) about the lanyards:

I have a question, for those of you in the know. When I look at my trip details (yes, they finally started to show yesterday), they say this:

Dining Preference: Main Seating, 5PM Show

So what does that mean? I thought that the "Main Seating" for dining was in the 5-6 pm range. But if my show time is at 5, that means either there is a conflict between show and dining (which I assume is not the case) or we are set to dine later?

Thoughts?

Thanks as always for your patience with this cruising newbie!

Okay, now that I'm off the Magic and have seen the Dream arrive in Port Canaveral, I will be headed home on Thursday and can then focus on this cruise (in between work--what's with that anyway?)

I will be working on fast passes for aquaduck, mini-navigators and the stateroom tour. As long as Ken has your information for lanyards, and Peter has info on his post, I will get that stuff in.

Anyway, I am so excited for the Dream! One thing I learned today. There are NOT hairdryers in stateroom. What I got from a cast member is that they had to call concierge to get a hair dryer. Don't know if they are planning on installing a real hair dryer or not (hated the other ones that got so hot on my hands), but we do have some fellow cruisers who will be on before the maiden voyage, so maybe they can check this out for us!

Can't wait, only three more weeks!

I think Main Dinner is 6:00 - 6:15. There is an option to do a 9:00pm show if that makes sense for you (and assuming there availability). I made the change to the 9:00 show a while ago by calling the cruise line.

So I have younger kids, so that is GREAT! Presuming the 5pm shows are done in time, we then go to dinner, and from there have some fun ahead of us AFTERWARDS!

Thanks so much. As always these DIS forums make me more comfortable about new things!

Stupid Cruise question...

What is everyone carrying on in their "day bag" when they board the ship? This is only my 2nd cruise, so I'm new to the whole thing and I have only a general idea of what to put in the day bag. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Day bag: all cruise docs, ID, valuables, medications u can't be without, alcohol, swimsuits etc, camera. Basically anything you think you will need before your bags get to your cabin. If u have kids this is the place for things to keep them busy in the terminal and for their autograph books (unless u want a dcl one). I'm sure I've forgotten something.....
