Peter, sorry no photos, have tried unsuccessfully to get cell service, but not having any luck, wondering if they have done something to the tower so we have no service? In any case, will keep trying, think I have some nice shots on my cell. I will be off ship Monday, so I'll send them your way as soon as I can. Here's the scoop:

The Disney Dream is currently docked at Castaway Cay. (about 9:30 a.m. this morning)

I am on the Disney Magic and we led her into CC this morning at 8 a.m. Decks full on both ships with horns from both ships going back and forth. Helicopter overhead for about 40 minutes with the two ships side by side. Currently we keep going around CC and we just passed the Dream (while she is docked) and took tons of pictures.

Tonight, weather permitting, the Magic and Dream will again be side by side and we will be watching their fireworks in the sky for pirate night.

All I can say is .. Oh My God!! So envious of you right now!!
Have a safe trip back and wave hello to the Dream for us too.:thumbsup2

Now that the holidays are over all I can think about is the cruise:boat:

I am so excited :dance3:. I can't wait until I go to Disney and then the cruise. I have my cruise documents but haven't received Magical Transport luggage tags yet for the WDW trip. I am not panicked yet, I figure they will be here shortly but just in case I will call my travel agent.

The ship in Castaway Cay. That much be a sight to behold.

Can't wait to make new friends :grouphug: and see old friends :grouphug:

Stupid question...I'm going to pick up photo matte to have the characters sign. What size do you recommend? I was thinking about getting one for an 8x10 photo and one for a 4x6 photo. I've only been on one cruise so far, but I think most of the pictures were 8x10s at shutters, unless you picked up one of the preprinted ones that was 4x6. We also plan on taking tons of pictures, so I figure one of each size would be a good idea. Help please! Thank you!

Also, what color would you recommend? I was thinking white, then signing with blue/red/black sharpies, and what size tip for the sharpies? Thanks again!

I think you're right - most of the pics were 5x7 or 8x10. And I would go with the white mat, too - it'll go with everything!

I've been combing the internet - I can't find a Nassau port cam anywhere...

She's disappeared on my screen .. I can't find her anywhere

On another note, I'll be sure to bring some extra Cadbury's for your son!!

I Just have to say that as a Cast Member my favorite thing to do on a day off with nothing to do is to go to England, get a cup of tea along with some cadbury candy, head out to the courtyard with the herbs, sit down and read a good book and people watch! You've got to love Candbury Candy! What a treat!

I've never been on a shorter cruise. I read they are more casual. Can someone tell me what they are wearing to dinners? I'm hoping to go with just carry ons for luggage and wondered if nice jean capris/jeans with nicer tops will be ok? Just came off the 11 night Christmas cruise, and saw many people in shorts, baseball hats, and even pj bottoms at late dining while we all wore gowns, skirts, dresses and shirts with ties.

I think all the top crew members are on the Dream. Service was just ok for us. Someone took our luggage at debarkation. Disney did find it on a bus and overnighted it to us! Last morning breakfast took almost an hour. We didn't leave the parking lot till 10 am! A little disappointing, but I'm sure this cruise will be great!

Yes the shorter cruises are usually more casual. They don't have a true formal night but have an optional dressup night instead. I truly believe that what you wear to dinner is your choice. As long as it's clean and you're not a guy in a tanktop or something equally hard on the eyes it truly doesn't matter. But it is one of the hottest topics on the boards so you will hear many opinions!

My husband will likely wear nice khakis etc and I am planning on my favourite linen pants. My daughter will do capris etc. On the dressy night we are going all out (tux etc) because we are dining at Remy.

So a long post to say that if you are clean and happy and within the suggested dress guidelines (no shorts or ballcaps or pj bottoms -- seriously?!) you will be fine -- you'd be welcome at our table!

In the past...

Thing's you wish to have signed can be dropped at guest services and picked up, before the end of your cruise! :surfweb:

Happy New Year everyone! Now that the holidays are over and DS is back in school, it is time to focus on the cruise. First on my list is the FE gifts. Does anyone know how we are doing them? Are we breaking it up or doing the whole list?

Starting to get excited!!!

Hi there,
Now that I've surprised my kiddos with the cruise for Christmas today, it's getting pretty real :-)

Any other single parents onboard? Our last cruise in August was completely devoid of singles of any sort LOL.

Although I searched this thread, I haven't been able to keep up with all the activity so pardon if someone has already asked.

Michelle

Yes, me!:yay: Just sent you a PM.

Not really related but was hoping some knowledgeable person could assist. We will be on the Magic on the 15th-22nd was wondering if St Thomas and St Marteen can be easily visited from the ship or is an excursion required. None of the excursions really interest us but would like to look around at our own pace. Perhaps we will get lucky and all the ships will rondevous.

PS You know the thing I like about our Disney cruise documents.
They are old school.
Wonderfully made and classy.
Royal Carribean now sends emails and paper luggage tags.
To get actual cruise documents you have to pay extra.
And this was for our maiden voyage on the Oasis.
And hey Ive had some very good cruises on RC they just lack the magic.
And to me its about the little things.
Dont take away that little chocolate on my pillow that costs maybe a penny.
Again to me its about those little details and touches.
That may seem sappy but o well.
I got the feeling once I go Disney I will never go back to another cruise line.
Disney for sure has the magic

Thank you, Seaulater.

Thanks for posting the new link and the pictures. I love Rachel! I think she is the best.

Tim, I could not agree more with you about the details Disney uses. It is the same thing for me. Royal Caribbean is nice but it is not Disney. My in-laws are die-hard RC fans, and we have been on cruises with them. But Disney sure knows how to 'put the ears on it!' I never want to go anywhere else...

Hoping for warm weather!

Yes, both island are very easy to get around with on your own. In St. Maarten there is a water taxi that will take you to downtown and there is a beach right there if you want. Not the prettiest beach but if you wanted to combine shopping downtown and beach at the same place you can do that there. Or, you could take a land taxi to Orient Beach....no charge to get on the beach and it is the same stretch of beach that DCL excursion goes to. You just need to pay for the taxi ride over (about 20 minutes).

On St. Thomas we usually go to Sapphire Beach Club. You will pay for chairs and umbrellas but it is a nice beach that has a bathroom and inground pool. There is also tons of shopping right where the cruise ship dock or you can take a land taxi to the downtown area for shopping.
